Just watched Episode 17 (released August 30th) of your Oasis playthrough and you were talking about playing something like this very map. And now here we are!
@@KiotheCloud I write mods so I'm aware of the potential for performance impacts, but I'm curious which currently released mods have significant performance impacts?
Brothgar: zero mods FPS: HELP! in truth, the game itself is the problem the mods have little impact in the grand scheme of things in terms of performance.
@@PashaGamingYT pathfinding is a tiny part of the overall performance of the game. any reasonable put together a* system can find paths from 100k nodes in less then 1-5ms. it's even less of a problem if you off load it to another thread which quite honestly is easy to do. it's even less of a point when you considering that the pathfinder only needs to find a place to go within 3ish tiles which again would take less then 1ms to do for 100 units. dupes on the other hand move all over the place and i'm sure they take quite a lot more time to get the path. however that's still not the main reason for the relatively low fps. that goes to how they built the game world. they are using a TON of gameobjects which creates a lot of overhead. that's why he starts with 85+ fps and not 300+ fps. however the game looks visually amazing and you can't have it both ways...... =/
YESSS! So hyped for this playthrough! Mods that you chose are very cool, and feels like you wanted a little more challenge, which is incredibly interesting to watch
You have truly never seen a huge amount of mods used in a single game without seeing OverEnglishMan’s Modded Beyond Reason let’s play of XCom 2 War of the chosen with over 1000 mods! Surprising how his computer is still able to anything with that many mods.
I have to ask. How did you get only one dupli? How you get the crashed ship? What is the seed of this world? I'm sorry, you may have commented on it but I haven't understand. I would love you to tell us. Thanx!
this is really cool, the only thing i don't love is the light mod can make it kinda hard to see things..... but i guess that's kinda the point lol. anyway love it :)
At first I was spectacle of this but I really am excited to see this, I think you were right and that adding these mods will help expand your mind and expand your builds to be not only more convenient but maybe even game balancing, we will have to see.
Wall vents work like regula ones except you put them in wall - in any orientation you want, it will have one cell of output marked in similar way as auto sweeper. Personally I would consider adding one more mod -> piped output.
Mods! I love mods, i remember running Minecraft with 270 mods :D, computer was always near crashing :D needed to upgrade to 16 gigs of RAM to do a server for 5 people :D .
Brothgar I can’t say that’s not a good idea because I would love to see their panicked faces as they get dropped into a rocket cab against their will only to be blasted off into space to collect some regolith from an undiscovered asteroid
Maaaan I still suck at the base game, farthest I got was making steel and plastic before my base went into meltdown mode. I really need to get back into this game!
By big mod I mean something like Industrial Revolution for Factorio, or Botania for Minecraft. Even just a few new machines could add a lot of complexity and interesting designs. Most of the mods I’ve seen for ONI are small tweaks to the base game, and I think it would be interesting to see what the community can come up with. Also, I never said modding is easy, I know it takes a lot of work to add new mechanics and gameplay elements but perhaps copy and pasting some code for machines and changing the inputs and outputs wouldn’t be too difficult
Still 23h45 to survive without any video? A damn torture for me to wait for that long! But at least it will be live. I know someone that for sure will not be reading his master classes texts for Wednesday evening :)
@@brothgar Will you cover the update that was released tonight in Beta in a different video? Maybe with your Oasis map so it does not break your mega mod base?
that light mod is kind of awesome and also makes a lot of sense. you are technically underground after all. and it changes the dynamic of the game quite a lot.
I would think that if the Premise was that MEEP was from the last play through that he would Br more useful, after all he was alone. and can't you deconstruct the wrecked ship parts? You would think they would just be background

The sad thing about all that is that i love most of the mods showcased, but i also want to get all the achievements possible, which are most likely disabled when you are using any mods. Hence, achievements are evil.
Man, I don't know what you're talking about 30% of the time, but I like you.

Brothgar: 70+ mods!
Also Brothgar: About 69 mods!
nice

After that beginning I'm somewhat amazed that Meep survived!
This was like a breath of fresh air! So many new challenges to tackle!!!
ironic
Brothgar at cycle 200: ok, i need to set the petroleum-sour gas-natural gas boiler so i can burn it to power all my light-bulbs.
Roses are red,
Water comes out of a spout,
That’s all ladies and gentlemen,
Brothgar out.

@@ChooseKindness9999 yes
This reminds me of GOT, you know that episode that is completely dark and you couldn’t see anything
Ahh yes. The one where the villain was hyped for 7 seasons only to be killed in a brief scene in that episode..
Wall vents are just floor tiles that double as a vent. There should be wall pumps too.
Is nice for making very compact builds
Cant wait to see this colony grow
The darkness mod makes this very interesting.
"So as you can see here, this game has many many mods installed in it."
Minecraft: Hold my launcher...
Yes
O so that’s why it refuses to launch
Now to just wait a few days to see how much the game breaks before I try this myself. Very excited and this vid was great.

Great to see the islands map getting featured. I had so much fun on that map!
Damn, i'm so hyped up for that !
Man, kinda sucks that most of them are unusable while the dlc is active
Brothgar: This is going to take a long time
Me: Good. More episodes for me
Love ya Brothgar!
Realy love this gameplay, bought the game because of you, keep doing what you do!
What an amazing series this is going to be
Whenever I download 2 mods my potato computer catches on fire
Baked potatoes can’t be that bad.
If it’s boiled then bin it though
The majority of mods are extremely lightweight, especially in comparison to the base game. I'm not sure what you downloaded...
Have you tried turning it off and back on again? :D
@@azethegreat958 Probably some UI mods u might think they are lightweight but they aren't especially whey u combine a lot of them together

You didn't gross me out as much on this one. Actually a good/interesting scenario. Well done.
That is an insane start.
poor Meep, the guy just wanted to have fun and he woke up in the dark, alone and confused.
