Great episode. Rebecca is quite fun to listen to...and her journey was great to hear. I work in the vfx industry, but my wife does not. But being a parent and working in vfx, your partner pretty much goes thru what you go thru 🙂. Sounds like she had great support from her end with him and parents. So nice to hear!
And then also, the more time that passes the pandemic the more I realize that (at least in my circle) the vfx industry was one of the lucky ones to have pivoted and survived that seismic shift in culture...and kept the majority of their workforce employed. I'm very thankful for that!
    Again, great episode!

      Cam on, anh John!
Very glad you enjoyed Rebecca's episode! It's super relatable to most working parents that are artists. And I do infact resonate with her and the support she had from her partner. it is very crucial and important in aiding artists like us to continue working without worrying or feeling pressured outside of work.
Regarding the industry surviving during the pandemic, you absolutely have a point, and one we should be lucky about. As Hugo said, or as we've all noticed, there's so much work around lately. It's one to be grateful about!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving us a comment. It's highly appreciated.

As a mother and part of this industry, thank you for this positive episode. My day started with a smile while I'm STmapping. Great job!

Don't think I have ever heard this topic being brought up at lenght in ANY art pod/interview before, to be honest.
    I need MOAR!
    Very relateable guys! 😆
Thank you for sharing your experiences and advice with the community (and myself as a 3Dart student while also being a father of a 3 year old).

Thanks! We ran a bit of a series of articles interviewing working mothers in VFX, as and if you think dad's are left out, Kofi and Dan both have 2 kids and we interviewed Supervisor Jörundur Rafn Arnarson who has 9!!

@@TheVFXArtistsPodcast Cool! 😀 I will check them out as well! Will be interesting for sure. Thank you for making these interviews happen!
You don't always get these kinds of conversations on YT.

So much of the interview resonated with me as a mother of two. I am currently working in Education with a few freelance projects a year. Would be interesting to know if any part time contracts would be available to new hires at companies or if you would need to be an existing hire for a company to offer part time contracts to a mother of young children.

@@TheVFXArtistsPodcast thanks for the reply. That’s what I assumed, hence why I’m working as a Lecturer which does allow me part time. Would be great if studios did offer this but at least remote working is possible now which I do for short periods on projects full time.
