If you're not strong enough to even begin doing one pull-up, try working on your strength in other ways until you can build up to it. Try doing dead-hangs for 30 seconds at a time, 5 times a day. Once you've built up the muscles a bit more, do one full pull up. Just do one, and do it well and controlled, rest for 30 seconds, and repeat 5 times. Over time you'll build it up!

You not only climbing together, but train together as a family! I wish I could do the same. Major boost to morale and confidence. Also would give you that competitive edge. Keep up the amazing work.

How do you even hang onto those holds on the traverse? They are at such an angle that you think would you just slip off. Incredible.

1:57 How is it even possible to hold on to those? Must rely heavily on friction since that's like 30 degree angle.

if i had to guess id say the semi circle slopers are a pvc pipe filled with a wooden dowel and covered with a grip tape of some sort. the angled holds for the traversing just look like basic SPF Dimensional lumber beveled to the desired angle

Hey, i do indoor bouldering have done for 3 years off and on, im just wanting abit of advice, i weigh 15st 3lbs, im female, and i dont quite half the strength to do a 2 handed pullup, let alone a one handed pullup, ive tried half pullups, which i cant quite seem to do either!. I've also tried, jumping into a full pullup, and releasing slowly, back down. But its not slow enough to gain strength, im wanting to do some training for climbing, mostly finger strength, open hand strength, any ideas? ty

You've got to be really careful when training finger strength at such a young age. You have growth plates in your fingers that don't fuse until late adolescence. If you put too much weight through them you can have serious long term problems, that ultimately results in not climbing as strong as you could.

Do less of the off and more of the on ;) just kidding, try to find a way of reducing the weight you pull up. Either by using counterweights, or by finding a spot where your feet can help - lots of climbing gyms have ledges for your feet under pull up bars

I like to climb trees and buildings but never use clothes or equipment that helps at all, otherwise I'd be training purely to climb indoors with equipment and not to climb in any time/place. I have no idea if climbers like these can climb cliff faces without any equipment or suitable clothes (jeans and heavy clothes etc) but I guess that's not what they are training for.
