If you're not strong enough to even begin doing one pull-up, try working on your strength in other ways until you can build up to it. Try doing dead-hangs for 30 seconds at a time, 5 times a day. Once you've built up the muscles a bit more, do one full pull up. Just do one, and do it well and controlled, rest for 30 seconds, and repeat 5 times. Over time you'll build it up!
You not only climbing together, but train together as a family! I wish I could do the same. Major boost to morale and confidence. Also would give you that competitive edge. Keep up the amazing work.
This family is epic.
People who live near a climbing gym are lucky.
How do you even hang onto those holds on the traverse? They are at such an angle that you think would you just slip off. Incredible.
Great! Glad you were inspired
1:57 How is it even possible to hold on to those? Must rely heavily on friction since that's like 30 degree angle.
A great video of inspiration to get strong physically and mentally, while making it fun!
This is what my two grand kid kids need when stuck inside. Thanks for the work.
Great Video!!!! Thanks for that. Awesome setup. I'm definitely going to build something like it.
I'm pretty sure this is every climber's dream home...AMAZING!!
I love the counterweight idea, it makes learning a lot easier. Awesome!
Many new ideas, thank you.
i watched this with my jaw dropped on the floor
It wasn`t mentioned but her dad in the vid was one of the best climbers out there
brooke is awesome and so is that whole family
if i had to guess id say the semi circle slopers are a pvc pipe filled with a wooden dowel and covered with a grip tape of some sort. the angled holds for the traversing just look like basic SPF Dimensional lumber beveled to the desired angle
Very cool set up they have.
this makes me want to give climbing a try
Hey, i do indoor bouldering have done for 3 years off and on, im just wanting abit of advice, i weigh 15st 3lbs, im female, and i dont quite half the strength to do a 2 handed pullup, let alone a one handed pullup, ive tried half pullups, which i cant quite seem to do either!. I've also tried, jumping into a full pullup, and releasing slowly, back down. But its not slow enough to gain strength, im wanting to do some training for climbing, mostly finger strength, open hand strength, any ideas? ty
Ooh this is a cool idea I love climbing should put one of these I'm my house
i agree. counter weight is amazing.
I want this set up it's sick
i need one of thoose
what are those made of is that wood with texture?
not if you start off doing those things... takes a long time and patience to let your tendons keep up with your muscles
Remember! It's an awesome set up and idea, but there's nothing quite like the outdoors ;D
This is a dream house!
cool family :)
Ashima Shiraishi! :)
Well it's more to do with power to weight ratio.
I want to do this in my house, say the measures could please thaks
de que material esta hecho los medios circulos....
what do they put on their hands
keren bgt....nice info....
much more impressive than someone who can bench press 300 pounds.
Every look up "the ascend of alex honnold" he climbs huge walls without any gear or ropes just bare hands its insane!
anyone know what kind of knot she used at 3.07?
It's just like assisted dips at on the pull-up/dip machine.
this makes my forearms hurt just watching
They got the skills of the kid in the mohawk valley!
Are you guys training for Ninja Warrior?
Before you start running for whatever is chasing you, remember to clip on your chalk bag to your back belt loop!
I've done this all already
yve's progression training board
I wish I was in that family
This is like a Ninja Warrior family.
nice ^^
I think they got the idea from those "assisted" pull-up / dip things.
SO what do you do when you are trying to get to a top of a cliff to survive and you dont have that chalk..
How old is her brother?
1:07, my ps3 is not so dusty but usually, my fingerboard is :(
is Brooke and her Brother doing american ninja warrior. they have a chance at winning and the prize money is like 500,000 dollars i think they should give it a shot. on second thought, i think you have to be a certain age.
Just do everything you mentioned, but put in more effort. Keep trying, until you cry. And then try some more.
We call it discipline.:)
Good luck!
Bout to go do Some pushups...
You've got to be really careful when training finger strength at such a young age. You have growth plates in your fingers that don't fuse until late adolescence. If you put too much weight through them you can have serious long term problems, that ultimately results in not climbing as strong as you could.
Chalk. It helps keep your hands dry rather than sweaty.
Na Oida!
? what about finger boardS?
Check those lats :O
Not many people have a really well of climbing family to do this with....something more practical would be better, something everyone can do whenever they want. But hey, that's just my opinion
"Yosemite finish"
Did she just hold herself up with only two fingers?! She may have more finger strength than Spongebob! And if its one thing they have underwater, its finger strength!
NINJA WARRIOR TRAINING WALL?!
training for ninja warrior?!
Do less of the off and more of the on ;) just kidding, try to find a way of reducing the weight you pull up. Either by using counterweights, or by finding a spot where your feet can help - lots of climbing gyms have ledges for your feet under pull up bars
i want the brother n sister to go head to head
how to be an assassin from assassins creed...
I would love to shake hands with her, and train with her. I think it would help my motivational skills. :)
moms a little over the top
running from cops is a great way to learn (not really)
chalk
hoho ikr
I like to climb trees and buildings but never use clothes or equipment that helps at all, otherwise I'd be training purely to climb indoors with equipment and not to climb in any time/place. I have no idea if climbers like these can climb cliff faces without any equipment or suitable clothes (jeans and heavy clothes etc) but I guess that's not what they are training for.
A lot more than you would, I'm sure.
she forgot leg day
Ninja warrior anyone? :D
how to be an assassin...
Chalk. Kinda like gymnasts.
...?
judging by your name you already know how -_-
this channel instead of "Thinkr" should be called " People who are better than you".
and you are so cute too i can not do that no more
Because being big does not mean you are strong.
Mouthbreathers?
whats the name of the other 11yr old girl?
They weren't really tips for strength training.
your brother is cute and you are so cute too i can not do that no more
parkour's better
What were the tips? Be a tiny girl? Use chalk and a counterweight til you're half decent? Have your mom buy all your stuff?
That plasma on the wall.. The husband must be working hard.
All time you are hanging in shoulderss :/ not really healthy
You guys need to get out more.
