Awesome workflow and video thanks!!!my suggestion 47:10 you can triangulate instead of making it manually!! I think there is an option in maya im blender user!!!!
Thanks! Great suggestion, I only didn't because I find the triangulate tool sometimes triangulates things I don't want to triangulate 😆since it was a relatively small area I decided to just do it manually. You're right though I probably could of saved some time, good call out!
Not a stupid question at all! You could totally use this in a video game. However its important to know which game engine its being used in and how its going to be used. For example, a main character prop vs background prop, mobile game vs PC game. There are a lot of factors that can change how you create the model. This "prop" is fairly high in polys so I would probably approach it a bit differently. That being said, this model only uses 1 texture so it should be fine in most cases. A few things I would do differently if I were to use it in a game is remove all those holes in the knife (that can be faked in the textures and save on polys) and also all of those wires, I would reduce the polys on those. You could go even further and remove the indents on the wrench and also just add those into the texture to fake it. A lot can be faked in the materials, you'd be surprised what you can get away with. This is why its important to know how the asset will be used in game, because if you're not going to see it up-close you can fake a lot of details and save on performance! :)

that's so cool man, really, fun to watch and reproduce. Where do you find the inspiration for all that stuff?
Thanks man! I usually find inspiration on ArtStation, Pinterest, and/or google images. Sometimes movies or TV shows as well.
Im new in 3d, sorry for stupid quastion, but is this game-ready model, or you need to do something with it?
