I watch your review and enjoyed, would like to only comment on some areas as a past 17 years X bow hunter. The Ravin is the only reverse limb bow you used to the others brands, why not the Tenpoint Nitro rather then a Turbo GT same for the other brands? The Ravin is a super new X bow and deserves a high mark, I believe what I read it is acknowledging usage of TenPoint Technologies patents. The Tenpoint Nitro, or Turbo GT, like most Tenpoint x bows and the Ravin use a crank style system for good reason, consistent cocking for accuracy, safety, among other needs an aid for handicaps. In the past 17 years of my X bow hunting the sport has changed a lot with many offerings. A good rule is still pretty much the same, look a lot, ask a lot Q's, buy the best you can afford from oldest specialized company or design. Just take the time to call the company and ask questions, see if there interested in your money or your satisfaction. Happy Hunting.
BowHunterPlane When are any reviews on crossbow ever going to use a chronograph to see what you are really getting!! This is a very false advertise area. Please!
There are many crossbows that are not top of the line that can do just as well.. Top of the line is a case of diminishing returns, in other words you are going to pay a whole lot of money for very little gain.. Top of the line is also what companies want you to buy because that is the big big profit bow.. Think about it - you have a rail, some limbs. some cams, cable and string, stock and trigger, how can one bow cost $400 and another cost $2000+.. (is the one costing $1600 more going to give $1600 worth of improvement or benefits - absolutely not)..
When spending big bucks for a product a big thing for me is reliability and warranties...my crossbow of choice has a hundred % warranty which I've used for the bow and scope...send it away get it back within a week most times
I'm not very confident on the string durability of the Striker Katana. I was sighting in one for a friend during the winter, the string was waxed, the crossbow was brand new, it was properly cocked, and fired about 5 shots prior, it was already cold so no drastic temp differences. After some rough groupings the string snapped. The dealer on Amazon told my friend to buy a new string and did nothing until Amazon forced them to send him a new one free of charge. Overall my worst experience with a crossbow even though it wasn't even mine and it was a 10 minute interaction fml.
i believe he means he did not think your review was fair regarding your comments about the crank being loud and you only will get one shot due to the noise. the Ravin can be cranked with no noise at all if you depress the thumb button when cranking. the dealer i bought my Ravin from had me crank it both ways as well as uncock it with the crank so i knew how to do it. also, the grouping you show on your video is really misleading. not criticizing but i am guessing you did not follow the 3 step procedure for siting the bow in with the supplied scope. i can group 1" to 1-1/2" at 50 yds all day long. it is not me, it is the way this bow shoots.
Yeah you can remove the noise but also run the chance of dry firing the crossbow because you basically are putting the crank in free spool i would never recommend somebody do that its unsafe and unnessasary
Ravins are cool to look at but functionality there definetly not worth the outragious money you have to pay ive shot both and grouping were no better than my excalibur at 50 and under they did hold better at 60+ but to me that defeats the whole purpose of crossbow hunting. Not worth 1500+ dollars to me.
ravin shot grouping is kind of misleading. . The ravin having different design also requires to be shot different. needs to be shot more like a regular bow, loose grip let the bow do what it needs, not mounted down in a sled or held tightly. . There's other videos showing the difference
Seeing as Barnett outsells any other crossbow in the world. As well as best bang for the buck, I feel it was a bad decision not having Barnett in the line up! They have some real nice high end bows this year too!!
There is a reason the mission sub 1 was not reviewed...... I would have smoked all of them! It’s not all about speed the sub 1 is built like a fine watch being the right amount of mass, whisper quiet, stupid accurate (actually less than 1”@100 yards), church mouse quite, I can go on and on but it is what it is.
Raven Feather ....nope.... actually shot a Barnett. Not impressed, same with Excalibur and 10 point....too big and clunkly and clumsy. Best bow for money is a Parker.

How about the sub1 crossbow?
Can we use Ravin scope with other crossbow?
Surprised Mission wasn’t in this review.
you can crank it without making noise
Looks like you have your quiver as tight as it will go towards the bow on the ravin, if you loosen the rear nut you can angle it further away.
GOOD INFORMATION! You guys gotta do more crossbow "Showdown" shows!
Did you test out the mission sub-1 crossbow yet
Best comparisson video. Way better than The Sticks Outfitter's comparison with the same crossbows.
Which models of each
Awesome vidd!
When you done the long-distance shooting you should have said what bows you was using

was it windy when you were shooting kind of large spread on grouping
Weight of the arrow?
At the distance you are testing my Ravin bolts wound be touching.

I don't know what Raven you have but my Raven shot 400 and after having it for a year it shoots 395. I use the same chronograph you have. 400grn arrow
Sad because the raven review is a bad one you can hit the lever for the crank release and crank it up without making a sound .

Bernie Kandt
Not to mention it can be cocked quietly. Bias review
He held the ravin different all 3 times
awesome video! Average Outdoorsman recommended your channel. Great stuff!
Awesome video .
Why was not the Barnett 420 included in the comparison test.

How come Mission bows didn't make it
Mission Bows weren't out and for sale when this video was made
Price's ?
which raven? r15 or 9?
Why doesn't a crossbow have let off like a compound bow
You can crank it silent push the button on the inside of the buttstock and you hear nothing
beautiful beautiful worth what it is worth
pretty obvious this guy is not a fan of Ravin for some reason. Maybe he fears change and crossbows should still be like they were in medievil times.

Hey your review on the Ravin r 9 is so misleading bro do your homework first the best crossbow
Iv seen medieval crossbows shoot better group than some of them at that range...
Poppy Warner no
I agree with you Poppy, those were terrible groups. I have shot better groups with my compound bow and inexpensive amazon crossbows that cost $400.
WHY , aren't you testing all bows for accuracy at 100 yards ?
Held the ravin different all 3 times
No Scorpyd?? What gives?
I wanted to see the ravin vs scorpyd. Only 2 I consider the best. I take it scorpyd must be scared now that ravin is here!!
Tony Skyline
Doubt it.
I personally think ten point is behind scorpyd now days
Dont know who was shooting the crossbows? I get way better grouping than this guy and hes using a rest.
Get a Parker....
Raven Feather ....nope....
actually shot a Barnett. Not impressed, same with Excalibur and 10 point....too big and clunkly and clumsy. Best bow for money is a Parker.
Raven Feather ....so you wanna be a dope OK....
Raven Feather ....blah blah blah....
