Okay guys, which one would YOU choose?! I'm super curious to hear your opinions after seeing the side by side footage from this video and a ton of others that have posted. What's the verdict, GoPro or DJI?
Hi David, firstly I’m a TV cameraman for a living and can’t believe how far these tiny cameras have come. I’m also a motovlogger in my spare time and have had nothing but frustrations with all models of GoPro since the Hero 8. In all honesty I haven’t used the 11 because I’m loathe to spend any more money with GoPro so went for the DJI Action 3 and wireless mic kit mainly because of their drones which I have used for years with my broadcast work and have had zero issues. I’ve only had the setup for a week but it’s a game changer, everything works flawlessly and no freezing/crashing/corrupted files any more like GoPro. I’m delighted I’ve made the switch and look forward to an even better image when they release the 10 bit update. Thanks for a very true comparison and you have a superb channel. Dave.👍🎥
Been using GoPros for years and my Hero 8 used to freeze from time to time, my Hero 9 has frozen maybe 1-2 times since I’ve owned it (2 years) and my hero 10 has never frozen. I do a lot of water sports, hiking, Onewheeling… I’ve been extremely pleased. And the GoPro subscription has so many perks it’s an easy buy so the price difference is very minimal. Can’t wait to strap the Hero 11 Mini to my DJI drones
Wow...finally found& got person who speaks about the frustration about Gopro freezing, CORRUPTED files & file transfer to the Gopro app is really pain in the ass.... you're not the only one who got this same frustration issue sir...& im done w/ this Gopro stuff...
After having the GoPro 5, 7 and 9, I also gave up on them because the 7 produced an odd plastic kind of skin tone, which was still there with the 9 plus the 9 was forever freezing and crashing. It looks like the 11 has fixed the colour profile and I’m waiting for anything else to appear. I have the Action 3 which works with no problems so far, touch wood! My original Action and Action 2 haven’t frozen or played up either. With GoPros, I feel that it’s taking a risk with a very high price tag.
Had the 8, 9, and 11 GoPro. EVEN with the gopro 11 I have issues all the time. So, this week I ordered an action 3. Already have the DJI wireless mike and love it. With 10 bit I think it might be a game changer. I have my settings with the GoPro fine-tuned, so I do like the picture quality. The only thing I'm concerned about with the action 3 is the picture quality. Also, DJI told me that my camera won't ship for 1 month. Is that standard wait time? AND they already hit my card for the $$ but want me to wait for a month. WTH
@@RobertMacCready I find it hard to believe it would take a month as they’re readily available all over Europe at the moment. However, it’s worth the wait as it’s issue free. The picture quality isn’t quite GoPro standard but to me it’s a fair trade for the reliability. I love them. 🎥👌
As a first time buyer of action camera; this is a tough choose. I love the price of the DJI, but really like the colors on the Hero 11. Maybe I should wait for DJI to update the camera with 10bit color and see if their color compare to Hero 11. In the meantime I will continue to use my iPhone 13 for video.
@@fdsaffff correct shot my first dji osmo action 3 footage today.. wide, 4k@60fps d cinelike. the realistic look in movement coloring and soundbwas wat suprised me the most.
@@DavidManningvlog If you are going to do another side-by-side comparison, take inspiration from the Best such video ever made, that includes most settings: ruclips.net/video/NdelSe5PnbU/видео.html
I am also a first time buyer of an action cam. I have just ordered the action 3. 1. The price 399 i got the the adventure package vs 499 for the standard go pro package. 2. The fact that the action 3 wont overheat vs the go pro that overheats. The reason why that is important to me is i will be using the cam on long mountain bike rides and want to record in 4k for long durations. 3. The extra batteries with the action 3 for the very reason above. Plus the fast charging case. 80% in 18 minutes. with the action 3 i will be able to film the whole trip without worrying about overheating or running out of juice. All of that with being far cheaper than the gopro getting a bunch of extras without spending a ton of money. For me the Acton 3 footage is more than good enough for my needs.
Good overview. Footage differences mean very little to me when there is no footage to actually work with. Reliability and frozen/corrupted footage on GoPro is a real dealbreaker, especially on once-in-a-lifetime shots. Come home to review the footage to find the camera completely shit the bed. I am going to be selling all of my GoPro stuff and switching to DJI. I just can't work with the buggy GoPro equipment any longer!
Once again, awesome comparison. I see it this way: If you are a pro or a semi-pro filmmaker and you don't care about the budget, go for GoPro. Better video quality, more options for post-production and many third party accessories. But if you are a regular user who just wants to film action shoots and don't want to spend too much money on camera and accessories, go for Osmo Action 3.
You are the only channel mentioning the bad Gopro touch screen handling when the camera is wet. Thank you! There are so many more criteria when the camera is used under rough real world conditions. We need spare parts. We need one touch recording without unintentionally switching to photo, burst, timelaps or anything. We need a camera that keeps its frame rate for the take even if it is turned on facing my dark pants. We need a water resistance that really works. We need a good microphone with windshield directly on the camera, for example in an alternative battery door. The camera must switch on and off really fast. There are so many things that really matter for an action camera. If these criteria weren't important, you could simply go for a regular Vlog camera.
One thing I noticed that not a lot of reviewers mention is the communication between Company and Consumer. I'm constantly seeing GoPro comment on their ads, and also on creators reviews which is not a GoPro sponsored video. I have never seen this from DJI. There's still the GoPro "issues" people have talked about that I haven't seen GoPro comment on, but they still seem to be active in communication. That's something to be said. The price point, temperature rating and image quality are the kickers for me
David, good video 👍 I went with the DJI Action 3, it arrives this coming week. I've had a Gopro H8 and have friends with the 9 & 10 models. They all suffer software issues, laggy touchscreen response and general user interface flaws. We use our cams for Action footage on dirtbikes and you just want a reliable, 'press one button and it works' user experience. I didn't want to change over to a completely new set of accessories (from the H8) and have the same experience. The simplicity of operation and quality of footage for far less money (especially in Aussie dollars) was a no brainier for me. I was able to get the Action 3 & adventure kit for less than a bare Gopro. Gopro's choice to lock you into their subscription system to get the proper price is also a disincentive for the camera in my opinion.
A few -ve's about the Gopro that maybe the Dji solves. 1. Needing the media mod for external mikes (I love our dji radio mikes) 2. Snapmount for media mod not available in UK 3. Taking the mounts off to take the media mod off to change battery (or reboot after crash) The integration of the dji mikes, no media mod, quicker mount are all significant +ve for dji.
Im a Gopro user. But the magnetic mount of the DJI is super cool. Imagine, put a magnetic mount to your helmet, an other to your bike, one on somewhere else. You can change the view very quick an make a cool video just using one single cam. Thats something i want to have for my gopro
on my last trip, my 9 and 10 started freezing.. basically unusable now, so I'm fighting with myself on losing image quality to switch to DJI... a very hard choice, I have lost so much footage in different ways over the years using gopro.
Great comparison video once again David... nicely done! I do not own both and still deciding but two other aspects to add to all your points for the Action 3 would be 'fast charging' for both in camera and the 3-batteries case and being able to see what you are recording on the DJI App. DJI Action 3 battery do last a bit longer from what other RUclipsrs are showing but it's not significant enough of an advantage on that point. If those 2.5 points are important to you, then the Action 3 needs to be considered. Sort of like compromising on video quality for quality of life advantages.
and quick record. 1sec vs 4-5sec, just this will make me buy this oa3, not to mentioin theres like 10 other things better like deeper waterproof, stable no heat/cold death, touch control front screen, true natural colors.. etc
Those are great but not all that useful if the camera constantly freezes up. How stable and reliable is the GP 11 compared to previous iterations? I've missed out on SO MANY shots because of random freezes on my Hero 7 and 9...😭😭😭
@@travsformation1 The GoPro stays in focus at a close distance. The focus issue on the Osmo was a deal breaker. I can deal with heat with a metal cage and limit my clips to 10min in my studio. I have no answer for an out-of-focus lens
I will never buy a GOPRO again. Not even a used one at a garage sale. Cameras fail and now NOPRO charges users monthly to use editing app and that doesn't work....gopro is NOPRO
I much prefer the GoPro (and to be fair, I have a 7, 9 and 11) but something you didn't mention is the higher FOV on the DJI. I noticed it in AuthenTech's review, and it is still noticeable here. Something worth pointing out.
Yes the Action 3 is significantly wider. Some people like that but it is not for me. So, for some people it is a pro, and for other people it is a con.
@@artistjoh i tested it yesterday, its nice in wide open areas when in for example woodland it gives a nice sense of speed. What i am saying it depends on where you turn it on. i think for moto vlogging the DJI is way ahead of the gopro. The cropping of the gopro makes it appear as you move at half speed.
I just started using the GP Hero 7 for snowmobiling. I have manage to get it to stay on for at least an hour or more by using a external battery/charger and I am running it thru the GoPro MIC adapter since I am also running a MIC in my helmet. I will be trying a Hero 10 for 2023-24 sled season but I agree, GP in the cold are just awful. I carry to internal batteries in case one just freezes up inside the camera even though it's attached to and external Bat/Charger (26000 mh). Now, I am riding in temps of 20 F and below then add in the windchill of riding at 50 +/- mph = short batt life. I would be hesitant to switch to the DJI 3 because that means replacing everything I have purchased. I am on a super tight budget, so buying things twice is not in the budget. Overall, this was a super informative review. Thank you for posting.
On my channel, I explore old abandoned mines so it's one of the most difficult environments that an action camera could face. I'm currently shooting with a GoPro 8 using an Aputure F7 for light. That combination works AMAZING. It's dark, dirty, dusty, and the camera gets banged around on the rocks the entire time. I've yet to have an issue. And the footage is far better than I ever expected. With front and rear microphones, the audio captures my voice as well as those in front of the camera. No need for an external microphone. I will be upgrading in the near future to get that 10 bit color. Thanks for your side-by-side review. It confirms my thoughts on upgrading. 🙂
I had high hopes when DJI announced the Action 2, so like @A Wilder Ireland mentioned, good to see the OA3 back on track. Both seem pretty great, so it's a tough choice. I agree with others that I'd pick the H11 based on side-by-side footage comparison, but the OA3 still looks pretty good. For me it's about reliability. I'll wait to see about longer term usage reports for the GoPro, as their cameras always seem to be plagued by bugs and "the GoPro reset." I'd be using it mostly for music, and losing footage in the middle of a show... no thanks.
Good review. To answer your last question about whether or not you need an action camera over a (flagship) smartphone, as far as for vlogging, the answer is a very clear, YES! The reason for this is simply because the front-facing camera of ANY smartphone is total crap compared to the rear-facing camera. And for vlogging, this is a must because it's used for that almost exclusively in order to frame your shots. Why smartphone manufacturers never address this is still a wonder to folks like us (techie types who care about quality (not just, "good enough").
Your battery test on Osmo cam swayed me from other vid, should have mentioned that in the vid. I'll wait for 10bit on Osmo and watch your comparison vid then. 10bit plus way better battery performance would move me to Osmo for my needs. great vid! Thanks
Thanks for the indepth. I think it comes down to end use scenarios. Starting out or reliability its going to go DJI. If you're a colour grading , cinematic, joseph kosinkski up and comer filmy person then gopro. What I will be interested in is your thoughts on the new hero mini when it comes out. That is where I think the hard choice comes in. For me right now I will stick with my hero 7black and wait for the mini before making a decision.
Action 3 seems to isolate the sound forward better than the GP. Great video as always David 🙌. Is it too early to congratulate you on 300k? Don't care. Hope you celebrate the milestone with the family 👏🏻
i was very surprised by the sound qualitywhen i shot some video on the atv, wind noise is almost not there, it captured engine and surrounding sounds very well.
You are so good at these videos, professional and yet you make a relaxed connection with your audience. 😃 I bought the DJI pocket 1 last year great camera. I especially liked the UI. I am thinking about upgrading to the new model but there is no rush. I mostly use a drone for my footage. I do like the new toys/features that GoPro have but I think if you are only a casual user of an action camera the DJI is a better choice.
I have the Action 2 and love except the over heating. I'm definitely upgrading to the Action 3. I just love the style and for almost the same price as the Gopro I can get the dji combo.. Great review as always
I honestly did not expect the price difference since the specs are really close. That being said, it would be wise to choose the Osmo Action 3 which costs a lot less. The only striking difference now could be the 10-bit but to think that it will be having that feature later on without additional cost, it is really looking to be the more practical choice.
Yes! I've been waiting for you to do this video! Thank you so much! I'll watch it later tonight because I don't have time right now, but I'm so glad you've done it!😊
The Low Light footage is a key feature I am looking for as a mountain biker since a lot of trails will encompass woodland and thus the light level drops in the trees. Second main criteria will be how smooth that footage is with all light levels and how motion blur is handled. Critical for an Action Cam!
Such a comparison and NADDAH about the battery 🔋⁉️🤨Apparently the power on the DJI lasts 30% longer on regular mode vs. GO PRO on regular mode(s).👀 RELIABILITY for the win‼️👊🏾💥ALWAYZ......👀
Thanks! Awaiting my GP11. I mainly use underwater so the 8x7 will be great so I can resize after. 10 Bit will be fantastic too. I have had only a couple freezes per year underwater with GP10 but figured out if I keep holding the power button down for 5-10 seconds, it restarts. (Can't really open that battery door underwater.)
I am looking to purchase my first action cam because of water resistance for footage while swimming and for gimbal-free image stabilization. I have seen a lot of these comparison videos as homework and the theme appears to be that GoPro has the dynamic range but DJI has pretty much everything else including reliability. I am leaning towards the DJI because I believe the D-Cinelike output profile with color grading should resolve the issue. 10-bit is definitely a mitigating factor as I would lean towards GoPro if DJI wasn't matching the 10-bit color.
i have the Action 2 and Hero 10 that I take spearfishing without a case. My spots are max 10m deep. I used the Hero 10 without a case, without any issues, but some salt depots on the feet. the hydrophobic coating works great, but eventually wears out. You can replace battery door, so you get a new seal, the lens cover with hydrophobic coating and new feet. The Action 2 is all sealed, no doors that can leak. But I find the image quality better on the Hero 10. Also the DJI OA2/3 lens seems too wide, with some distortion at the edges. The Action 3 has reportedly better water resistance, the preset button is very useful (I used to have the original Osmo Action), the presets work a lot better. I feel that the Osmo lens is way too wide. ALso still photos with the GoPro look really good and are 20+ megapixels. good raw files. the best camera would be the GoPro Hero 11 with the Osmo Action 3 body and functionality.
@@stefpix Yeah, it's always a cat and mouse game. DJI no doubt has a plan for a better sensor or lens. Maybe I should just wait a few more years for the Action 4.
@@hankitytankity if you want to use it now, you should get it now. both are good cameras. The DJI is cheaper and has a better interface. GoPro is more expensive with better image quality, and higher res photos. If money is no object, maybe the GoPro is better for your case
How to GoPro Reset without pulling out the battery: press and hold power button for 8 seconds, and release. It will reboot Thanks for the video man! Great review!
With what RUclips is doing with shorts it seems like it makes the GoPro a better choice since you won’t need to decide before you shoot or shoot twice. Sometimes shooting twice isn’t an option.
I LOL'd at your gimbal for GoPro comment. Totally agree! The ONLY case you could make (IMO) is using a Gimbal with a GoPro will give you better moderate Low Light performance since the DIS really breaks-down badly in low light. But...that's really a very minor benefit and probably not worth the expense.
As a novice, I want reliability so I went with osmo action 3. I had the hero 7 and it would sometimes turn on by itself, the battery would randomly deplete sometimes, it wouldnt shut off easily, etc. I think they need to rework it instead of adding more pro features
Without even watching this video all the way through I can tell you my next camera will be an Osmo. Had the first one, and yes it’s a bit less polished for video/audio quality, but it works everytime I turn it on. Unlike GoPro that I frequently get dropped footage or audio. Hero 7,8 and 10 all have the issue. And when I’m filming, it’s a motorcycle trip so I can’t just reshoot a bad shot due to file corruption. Have not once had corrupted files or dropped shots with OSMO.
A good comparison here. For whatever reason, there seems to be this agenda putting 💩 on GoPro……. Unreliable etc etc. I still use a Hero 8 Black and aside from overheating in 40 Celsius heat, have not had a single issue with it. Have never owned an Osmo so cannot really say anything good or bad about the product. It nary gets a bad review though. Here in Australia, the Osmo Action 3 “Adventure Package” costs less than just the GoPro Hero 11 Black. Suffice to say, competition is fierce 👊👊💥💥👊👊 P.S : Great Channel, I have subscribed
I'd go with DJI on this one. By experience with most of my DJI devices, they all get better in time with constant updates. It would be a steal getting it for a lower price with even more value for money in the long run.
I'm a frustrated action camera first timer with my GP8. Freezing, overheating, and recently, connecting to Quik app. I rarely reach for it anymore. The DJI seems user friendly, no overheating, good connection. One thing that stands out with all these comparisons, GoPro seems to always have better video quality, finer details, less noise, better color. But my experience has been frustrating. But even coming from me, the GoPro 11 has way better video. Some comps I saw, the detail in the smaller tree leaves, the GoPro looks like as if I'm seeing it in person, whereas the Action 3 reminds that it is a small action camera at times. Though I hate my GP8, gotta give it GoPro for their video quality. With that said, when the Action 3 does provide 10 bit color, will that help also to make the video sharper, crisper, like a GoPro, or just help with better dynamic range? Thank you for your thorough review and comparison!
I chose action 3 because I can't risk losing any footage when I've spent the day setting up for a shoot. Too many people I know who own go pro, get home to find missing or corrupt files. And the camera freezing/locking up in the middle of a shoot, is the highest level of amateur there is. What good is clarity or features when the file is not usable?
Great comparison and thanks for sharing. Hmmm, give me reliability over flashy features any day. The footage you never take is the footage you're going to miss the most!!
I'm awaiting my GoPro 11 next week 🥳I think i watched every comparison video there is on RUclips and for me personally it makes more sense to stay with GoPro. I can still use all my batteries and accessories that i have for my GoPro 10. The new sensor format is super practical for creating content on multiple platforms without needing to shoot the same thing with 2 GoPros for example. And from what i've seen the 10bit does make a difference. So upgrading from the 10 i should be able to upgrade the quality of my timelapses and cinematic videos. I guess the decision really depends on each person's needs. I can imagine that for other people the DJI might be the better option. I do hope that GoPro steps up their game for the next release though🤞
Great vs vid, not that anyone would expect less!! I've been on an extended break from filming for family reasons, but will be capturing my hockey games again soon. And as someone who only owns odd numbered gopros, I'm eyeing the 11 very hard!! 😆
You rock David. Your video really helped me to choose the camera I am looking for to shoot video whilst riding my snowmobile and snow boarding. I chosen the GoPro
I will ask a different question. I use the Osmo Action Original and "as well as the Pocket" and am very happy with the Original Osmo. So with that said,, if you were a small channel like us would you see fit to upgrade to the Osmo Action 3?
Thanks for the video! But, assuming that you were wearing a WHITE T-shirt at 9:27, at Hero it definitely looks gray... Apparently this is the aggressive work of the HDR. Is it possible to disable this in the settings?
The problem is you did not mention if those clips were edited. My gopro 10 was producing a lot of noise in video from its oversharpenning and even with lowest settings I was getting incredible amounts of noise.
Great video, David. Kudos for your patience to film the whole thing twice. Been there- done that too either didnt hit record or forgot to turn on mic. I like the GoPro. I have the Hero 7 and Hero 10. I don't see a strong enough reason for me to add the Hero 11 to my kit. If there's a great holiday sale I could be tempted.
What type of camera do I need to use on a 20' boat if I were to secure it into the bow and have it record toward the center of the boat? It needs to have a clear sound in windy conditions, video also needs to be on point too. Also, would I need a Bluetooth microphone?
Hi! can you do a detailed comparison video of the 2 action cams and their respective apps? would like to know how GoPro 11 app and Osmo Action 3 app currently fair against each other in terms of set up, user interface, ease of use, functionality, pros and cons, and tips or cool useful features during recording or after recording.
As a person that are new to this, and wanting to get an action camera so i can start on creating content, i am really torn on which to get... The GoPro is better spec wise in any spec if you ask me. But i hear so many having problems with the camera freezing etc etc. but the other options just lack what i want.. the best quality possible
I am a fan of the Osmo Action in terms of reliability. I film aviation videos with Osmo Action and GoPro’s, using patch cables from the airplane’s audio system. Each camera has USB-C audio adapters to convert analog signal so the cameras can record it. Is there an audio adapter with 3.5mm TRS jack (besides the DJI wireless microphone) available for the Osmo Action 3?
It doesn’t look like it just yet as the Cynova adapter for the Osmo Action 1 doesn’t work with the 3. I’m sure it will either be coming soon, or they’ll have a firmware update to make the original audio adapter compatible
@@DavidManningvlog Thanks David! Love the channel and how your family gets incorporated into the content! Keep living the dream and making this happen!!
I was looking to buy DJI or GoPro and it hit me - I have a DJI Mavic Mini drone and I am AMAZED by what its capable of, DJI make drones with AMAZING cameras, surely they can make an action camera. So I went with DJI, but I am yet to test it. Let's hope that I just made a good choice.
i'm on the hero 7 atm and i was thinking about the 3, but tbh the 2 things that put 3 above the 11 imo is that charging case and magnetic mount, but you can get that 3rd party for gopro so i feel like i may as well
David, I'd be interested to know if you've noticed any focusing problems with the OA3. There seems to be a lot of talk about it at the minute and I was almost ready to make a purchase.
the gopro price went down to $399 for the accessory bundle. i always wait a week because they always lower the price to get more buyers. that’s what they did to the hero 9. patience is everything 😊
You are right! I ordered Action 3 last week and it will take 25 days to be delivered. So what I did was cancelled the Action 3 order and ordered GP11 for a lower price!
my dji just got delivered today, didnt know the price had gone down to same as the bundle I bought, before it was £50 more... only thing that bundle is missing is a power bank/triple battery charger and i guess if i wanted the same i would need to buy that too
Gopro overheat and shuts off while I was shooting on a couple of my trip and I forever left a bad taste. I'd prefer a action cam that can last the entire battery. Firmware update GoPro also tooook forever to release an update. Sooo I'm going for DJI. Thx for the comparison videos.
Amazing video David! About the price comparison tho, who will ever say: “no I don’t want the guarantee/subscription package I will pay full price”??. All GoPros will sell for 399$
Ok so here it is, I have DJI Action Camera, and had a few GoPros over the years. all had problems. however when DJI discontinued the Action Camera, I purchased another GoPro Black 10, and it consistently OVER HEATED and shut down when I was recording, so I ALWAYS lost footage. (I SOLD THE HERO 10) within two months of purchasing it. I just Pre-ordered the new DJI Action 3. Which claims not to overheat, and I can believe that, because my first DJI Action Camera never overheated. The reason I sold my New GoPro 10 was that I kept losing footage, which could not be reshot. That was very frustrating.
I really thought the 8x7 sensor was a big deal, until I realized the DJI’s 4x3 sensor is literally 8x6. 8x7 vs 8x6, is 1/8 really that big a difference when cropping vertical? Especially when the DJI has a wider field of view to begin with.

In all honesty I haven’t used the 11 because I’m loathe to spend any more money with GoPro so went for the DJI Action 3 and wireless mic kit mainly because of their drones which I have used for years with my broadcast work and have had zero issues.

As a first time buyer of action camera; this is a tough choose. I love the price of the DJI, but really like the colors on the Hero 11.
Same. I dive so I can't really do the GoPro reset underwater. I wish they'd just acknowledge the problem instead of always blaming the memory card.
I have the GoPro 10 (and others)and honestly sick of the problems with footage loss and having to remove the battery. I’m going to try the Action 3.
Exactly what I'm doing. I'm over GoPro! And the cost is ridiculous!! I have the DJI Pocket 2 & Drone and will be adding the Osmo 3 to the crew.
Thanks!
The price point, temperature rating and image quality are the kickers for me
David, good video 👍
I went with the DJI Action 3, it arrives this coming week.
1. Needing the media mod for external mikes (I love our dji radio mikes)
2. Snapmount for media mod not available in UK
3. Taking the mounts off to take the media mod off to change battery (or reboot after crash)
The integration of the dji mikes, no media mod, quicker mount are all significant +ve for dji.
Im a Gopro user. But the magnetic mount of the DJI is super cool. Imagine, put a magnetic mount to your helmet, an other to your bike, one on somewhere else. You can change the view very quick an make a cool video just using one single cam. Thats something i want to have for my gopro
They have them for GoPros. They’re called a Snap Mount. I use them and they work great!

on my last trip, my 9 and 10 started freezing.. basically unusable now, so I'm fighting with myself on losing image quality to switch to DJI... a very hard choice, I have lost so much footage in different ways over the years using gopro.
Same. Just tweek the settings and colour grade and you'll be fine I reckon
I have bad experience with GoPros software too. Its freezing even though its not that hot....

the freezing issue seem to be affecting a lot of gopro models, check the forum so many complaints...
@@DavidSmith-qp7yk i got the hero 11 mini.still have some freezing issues even with fast sd cards
1sec vs 4-5sec, just this will make me buy this oa3, not to mentioin theres like 10 other things better like deeper waterproof, stable no heat/cold death, touch control front screen, true natural colors.. etc
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on HERO11 Black, David! Glad to hear you're stoked on the larger sensor, 10-bit color + detailed image quality. 👏
Those are great but not all that useful if the camera constantly freezes up. How stable and reliable is the GP 11 compared to previous iterations? I've missed out on SO MANY shots because of random freezes on my Hero 7 and 9...😭😭😭
@@travsformation1 I have an 11 and have yet to have any freezing issues.
@@travsformation1 The GoPro stays in focus at a close distance. The focus issue on the Osmo was a deal breaker. I can deal with heat with a metal cage and limit my clips to 10min in my studio. I have no answer for an out-of-focus lens

very good 10 bit 👑👍 thanks go pro
Don't care. Hope you celebrate the milestone with the family 👏🏻
i was very surprised by the sound qualitywhen i shot some video on the atv, wind noise is almost not there, it captured engine and surrounding sounds very well.
now that dji action 3 has 10 bit and HDR mode, i think it would be fair you do another comparison. cheers!
The osmo action 3 has 10-bit pixel depth lol he got it wrong
@@charliesrandomthings5457 He didn't get it wrong. At the time, the action 3 did not have 10-bit color, they added that on later in a firmware update.
Yes! I've been waiting for you to do this video! Thank you so much! I'll watch it later tonight because I don't have time right now, but I'm so glad you've done it!😊
Thanks David, I appreciate you watching and stoked to hear your thoughts after seeing the side by side footage!
The Low Light footage is a key feature I am looking for as a mountain biker since a lot of trails will encompass woodland and thus the light level drops in the trees. Second main criteria will be how smooth that footage is with all light levels and how motion blur is handled. Critical for an Action Cam!
Lowlight capability is also important for divers. I would gladly trade in a bit of dynamic range and clarity for better lowlight!
Such a comparison and NADDAH about the battery 🔋⁉️🤨Apparently the power on the DJI lasts 30% longer on regular mode vs. GO PRO on regular mode(s).👀 RELIABILITY for the win‼️👊🏾💥ALWAYZ......👀
Action 3 and Insta 360 X2, perfect for my moto vlogging, Action 1 never let me down, GoPro too many issues…
Stopped at 5:51 to see shadow on your shirt to confirm what thought to be the Gopro. Gopro all the way!

Nice review! Can the DJI Mic be connected to the action 3 with the vertical cage on and mounted vertically? Thanks!
Thank you David, I wanted to ask what camera was you using indoors to do the briefing review ? The quality is astonishing 🎉 👊🏾
Good ole A7Siii
Without even watching this video all the way through I can tell you my next camera will be an Osmo. Had the first one, and yes it’s a bit less polished for video/audio quality, but it works everytime I turn it on. Unlike GoPro that I frequently get dropped footage or audio. Hero 7,8 and 10 all have the issue. And when I’m filming, it’s a motorcycle trip so I can’t just reshoot a bad shot due to file corruption. Have not once had corrupted files or dropped shots with OSMO.
Great video. Looking to upgrade from my Hero5 Black soon. This really helped.
Suffice to say, competition is fierce 👊👊💥💥👊👊
P.S : Great Channel, I have subscribed
I'd go with DJI on this one. By experience with most of my DJI devices, they all get better in time with constant updates. It would be a steal getting it for a lower price with even more value for money in the long run.
thank you.. i love go pro than anything.. but i hope they also improve a photo quality too
I enjoyed this! Helped me decide! Requesting for best accessories for best accessories for OSMO Action pls. Thanks!
Love this video and look forward to see the coming one. With the iPhone in my pocket, why should I get an action camera?
That 8-bit color on the DJI 3 is a deal breaker for me, thanks for the comprehensive review!

As a person that are new to this, and wanting to get an action camera so i can start on creating content, i am really torn on which to get... The GoPro is better spec wise in any spec if you ask me.
