Taps from the Straps: Congers Feed in the Dirty Seas off Brighton Marina

- With the May rot in full swing, it was time for another session down Brighton Marina East Wall. The beaches had become close to unfishable at times, due to the addtional pull on the line from the rot. I headed out with lovely fresh lug and rag, hoping to catch a sole or plaice in the murky waters. When I arrived, I could see that the wind had whipped up a chop on the sea, so if plaice were about they would be few in number. With all the extra colour, the session drew strap congers to my bait instead. Check out the video to see how I got on and what tactics I used.
aanother cracking video, watching you guys on youtube fish got me into it, im in love with the fishing now, thanks to you and others, just started a youtube channel aswell to record my progress, look forward to your next one, dont worry about gettintthe size of a snood wrong, im alwys telling the wife my rig is bigger than what it is haha
Great to hear! Fishing is a fab sport that takes us closer to nature.
Nice one Gem!

Not a lot of fish, but still very enjoyable. Well done Gem x

nice one gem shame about the conger but that was one lovely lobster still a nice session , cheers gem stay safe see you on the next one
Thanks 👍
Hi gem not a blank this time , I no I keep talking about them beautiful sole but a that lobster that's got to be up there with them sole because they eat beautiful and it was a belter girly but you keep putting the time in one of these days it's going to be fish filled video you see I no it 😂😂, yr a great Angler gem
Thank you David. If every session were fish filled I honestly think fishing would be less fun. Not knowing how it’s going to fish when you set off to the beach is part of the excitement imo.
Great video once just ashame you couldn't land one of those straps.
Next time! Thanks for watching.
Lobster! Never caught one of those. Your talking about eel slime, what i do recall is that in a university experiment it was found conger skin was a big attraction for cod. Odd!
That really is odd. Thanks for sharing.
Are you around there Next Wednesday? choosing a spot to fish along there then either Hove lagoon end or Marina as guess beach will be rammed
I’ll not be there but if the sun is out I’d pick the marina. Brighton and hove beaches can get to busy with paddle boarders, swimmers and generally just people walking about! Enjoy your session. Let me know how you get on.
Nice video Gem 😊
Thanks! 😊
Will these C6 rods cope in the Bristol Channel?
Honestly I don’t know. I’ve never fished the Bristol Channel. However if I was going to, I’d take my Nagas along for the ride.
