Yes, I miss alot of the older airlines. I don't know if you're young or if you were around and flew in the 80s, but if you did, I'm sure that you remember alot of the popular airlines at that time which are now gone (some long gone) such as Northwest, TWA, Eastern, PanAm, and Braniff. And the airlines which are still around had different liverys such as United, USAir, Continental, and American. And the types of aircrafts back then which are now gone, the 727s, 707s, and DC9s were the main aircrafts for domestic US flights. And L1011s, DC10s, and 747s for long haul international flights. It's all very different now
Thanks for the great video and view of the wing. I have flown into and out of Phoenix Sky Harbor many times. I love to fly commercially. Thanks again Dantorp!!!
So anyone wondering about why the slats are deployed at the gate: The Airbus has it's bleed air system in the wings and when it is above 30C Airbus planes leave their slats down in config 1+F to allow air cooling of the system. If the slats are left up the bleed air system will trip a master caution light.
yeah i have noticed that but only in america however when i'm in europe and see all the 320 i never see the flaps deployed...i wonder why they do it in usa and no EU?
+BelowMinimums in norway and all the nordic countries it never gets above ~20-25° but down south it get in the High 30° (almost 40) but next time i go to the south (Italie or turkey) i will check :)
Wow I watch your recent stuff a lot. This is an old one….I’m so used to u being in places like Dubai, NY, A380’s and stuff but u were in Phoenix which has a great airport. Cool
Sky Harbor so many memories. Like the time in 1988 when the D.E.A. kicked out us out of Arizona. I tried to leave the airport but the D.E.A. agents told me that I was getting on that plane. Then they took everything bag/suitcase off of the plane to screen a for second time. They found nothing. I want to give a special shout out to "Sally" our waitress at West Court in the Buttes for being so fine.
+misterrabell U.S Airways/ American created retro liveries for many past airlines that led to American such as PSA, US Air, America West and US Airways. You see them all the time in PHX.
+Mojo Projects It's not that incredible when it's 110F or 45F for 4 months straight. Then in the monsoon season when it rains since it is so hot the rain evaporates as it is falling and creates a downward wind that causes massive dust storms. Google Phoenix Haboob and you'll see (I live in Phoenix btw)
+BelowMinimums oh ok. At Paris we havent a ground so colorfull its why i write incredible but before you told me i didnt thaught they have storm close to phonix. Thanks for your answer
+Mojo Projects I didn't mean to sound pessimistic. it's not that bad here in Phoenix but the heat is just awful. It's funny because I am actually mesmerized by the bright and colorful greens that are present in European landscape! We don't get those bright greens in Arizona and not really anywhere in the US!
I live in Phoenix and I disagree with you. April through October is hot, Mid October through end of November is decent and December through February is perfect leaving March decent.
Generally I fly on the AA - A321 or B738 to/from DCA to PHX to visit family. Most of the time the flight is really smooth to/from each destination. Haven’t tried any of AA’s new livery fleets lately since most of the time they fly either the A321 or B738’s from DCA...
I remember when DCA was just Washington National Airport. It didn't become Ronald Reagon National Airport until right after his death in 2004, didn't it?
How many airports are named after presidents? I know that there's Ronald Reagon Washington National, New York JFK, and George Bush Houston International airport. Have I missed any?
What's crazy is I flew home from Alaska the day before you were here and I initially planned to arrive on the same day you did but I booked the wrong day home lol. Except I would have landed at 8AM and you departed around 3:30PM
Definitely a lot of pitching and swaying on climb. I'm guessing part of that is due to crosswinds but also to try and make it climb faster: I notice the A321's climb rate registers higher when it is turning on climb rather than going straight (not just an illusion).
It does sir. These are inherited from US Air. Here is one registration that you can search for N180US. I acknowledge though that new orders are V2500 powered.
are the two dings at 17:46 signaled by the cockpit manually or are they automatic. I believe they are indicators to notify the flight attendants that they can begin their duties.. Is that right?
I've noticed that the flaps were down in the pushback and before the engine start. How come?I fly a lot but I have never seen anything like that. The pilots everytime extend the flaps after pushback and in taxiing.Strange.Great video.
Did you record this with a different camera? Because it seems like your videos now have better quality and sound! (Or did you record this earlier and didn't upload it until now?)
+Karebu219™ When it's hot in Phoenix, it's hard to get lift. Apparently when this video was shot, the temperature was 110. Heat causes turbulence. All airports must stop service if the temperature reaches 122. However, Phoenix has only been that hot once.
+X-Plane Tutorial The Airbus has it's bleed air system in the wings and when it is above 30C Airbus planes leave their slats down in config 1+F to allow air cooling of the system. If the slats are left up the bleed air system will trip a master caution light.
+HalomasterA69 It's the PTU (Power Transfer Unit), which balances the hydraulic power. It cycles on and off due to pressure fluctuations. They're a bit noisy on the A320 series.
+2011zurich oh man I'm such a dork, I heard the noise around 3:11 and thought someone had a service dog onboard that was barking 😂 Thanks for clarifying!
WATCHING THIS IN COVID-19 ERA. I miss the skies :(
I love seeing all of the US Airways planes! Miss them so much! :(
Yes, I miss alot of the older airlines. Thanks for the great video and view of the wing. I have flown into and out of Phoenix Sky Harbor many times. I love to fly commercially. Thanks again Dantorp!!!
That was an awesome view of South Mountain!
I love the engine spool up sound from inside the cabin with the a320, a319, and the a321! Lol
i love the speed up sound when full throttle for V1 rotate
So anyone wondering about why the slats are deployed at the gate: The Airbus has it's bleed air system in the wings and when it is above 30C Airbus planes leave their slats down in config 1+F to allow air cooling of the system. If the slats are left up the bleed air system will trip a master caution light.
It also helps to keep the fuel cool.
yeah i have noticed that but only in america however when i'm in europe and see all the 320 i never see the flaps deployed...i wonder why they do it in usa and no EU?
Is it hotter than 30C?
+BelowMinimums in norway and all the nordic countries it never gets above ~20-25° but down south it get in the High 30° (almost 40) but next time i go to the south (Italie or turkey) i will check :)
I think that is why. The pilots only leave the flaps down if the temperatures are above 30C.
that engine sound is amazing!!!!!!
Love that sound and feeling
Butterflies in stomach!
Wow I watch your recent stuff a lot. This is an old one….I’m so used to u being in places like Dubai, NY, A380’s and stuff but u were in Phoenix which has a great airport. Cool
High quality video ! Good work , dantorp!
I used to work in that blue glass building.
I love those turns.
Hope to see more AA growth in PHX. Great video!
Love this sound 💗💗💗💗engine sound❤️😍😍
Yes im actually from Gouthenborg good videos!
Love the sound❤️✈️
777-300 has the sound
+xboxgamer I agree :)
Keep up the great videos!
Great video ! Great wingview !

Awesome view!
I live here in Phx...I wish I could blast out of here and the 110 degree heat and never come back!
I totally saw an America West Airlines color scheme parked at a gate during rolling!!
+misterrabell U.S Airways/ American created retro liveries for many past airlines that led to American such as PSA, US Air, America West and US Airways. You see them all the time in PHX.
when in the video?
Great video! Liked!
Awesome sound!! Great video :D
Nice one Dantorp.
My hometown. Watch out for turbulence especially in the summertime!
Awesome video thanks
I LOVE flying, its a shame I have not flown since 2005. I just refuse to go through all the hassles.
Nice Video.
What a coincidence!!! I went outta A3 on N913US when on AA465 on 2/2/15 to ORD!
Youll probably never read this but I live in phoenix so just tell me when your coming again!
nothing will beat the sound of those v2500s. even though i like the 737 more
The orange ground is incredible

+BelowMinimums Phoenix is hot June to Sept but the rest of year eight months is perfect
I live in Phoenix and I disagree with you. April through October is hot, Mid October through end of November is decent and December through February is perfect leaving March decent.
Så fort jag såg videotiteln så var jag tvungen att kolla, jag älskar Phoenix, min favoritstad i USA helt klart! :D
nice video. ..

The A321 that was doing a push back, it's N584UW!
Lol last plane I was on. Not surprised about takeoff length of this one: hot and long trip.
+ecoRfan and spotted in CLT once
Mycket trevlig video!
+Max Bräutigam Tack Max!
I fly out of this airport in 13 days!
good videos
when us airways had the old livery. i miss that
I've never seen flaps 2 before engine startup before!
It's only 1+F. The A320 family has bleed air system in the wings and above 30C they're generally kept at 1+F when parked to avoid problems.
Definitely a lot of pitching and swaying on climb. I'm guessing part of that is due to crosswinds but also to try and make it climb faster: I notice the A321's climb rate registers higher when it is turning on climb rather than going straight (not just an illusion).
Just love staring at 80% airplane wing. Could’ve aimed camera higher and back a little
nice man
I been on American airlines to Phoenix
nice
amazing sound!
Amazing camera - what is the resolution actually?
Beautiful video! Mycket bra ;)
Ever wonder why the dust storms in Arizona throw up a orange cloud? 14:15
Avoid the "ghost" hold that lens right up on the window.
Hmmm... Why were the flaps already extended before push and engine start?
Quite a steep takeoff, eh?
prob planned on it being 20C not 43C :)
That cut at 4:06.... nooo 😁
The CFM engines have an awesome whining sound
I guess it's a IAE V2500.
The V2500 makes a mooing noise at startup like the GE90. This didn't happen here
+ChAbAr that are V2500 engines. American doesn't operate any A321 with CFM engines.
It does sir. These are inherited from US Air. Here is one registration that you can search for N180US. I acknowledge though that new orders are V2500 powered.
+ChAbAr true that, but I still believe that this one is V2500 powered : Dantorp writes it is an A321-231 in his description.
are the two dings at 17:46 signaled by the cockpit manually or are they automatic. I believe they are indicators to notify the flight attendants that they can begin their duties.. Is that right?
Did you guys here that sound in the cabin and in the cockpit when she started the engines
20A in AA321 is a business class? Transcontinental seats version?
I've noticed that the flaps were down in the pushback and before the engine start. How come?I fly a lot but I have never seen anything like that. The pilots everytime extend the flaps after pushback and in taxiing.Strange.Great video.
+Yannis Moutafis Normal procedure above 30 degress in temperature. Bleed air system cooling.
+Luca Giordano Ah ok Luca.Thanks.By the way you have a nice channel.I subbed.Check mine and sub if you like
what is the function of the small square flap in between the alierons and the inboard wing flaps?
i tookoff at that same runway on american same plane type but i was on the right side
Lots of runway prior to rotate
Did you record this with a different camera? Because it seems like your videos now have better quality and sound! (Or did you record this earlier and didn't upload it until now?)
+Karebu219™ This is actually an old video, so it could just be the weather or something like that? It's interesting that you think you!
+Dantorp Aviation thank you!
+Karebu219™ When it's hot in Phoenix, it's hard to get lift. Apparently when this video was shot, the temperature was 110. Heat causes turbulence. All airports must stop service if the temperature reaches 122. However, Phoenix has only been that hot once.
How many destinations have you visited
dude it took u 12 minutes to get in the air after 13 minutes i closed this
Flaps extended before engine start?
+X-Plane Tutorial The Airbus has it's bleed air system in the wings and when it is above 30C Airbus planes leave their slats down in config 1+F to allow air cooling of the system. If the slats are left up the bleed air system will trip a master caution light.
Very common to see that in PHX.
Can you fly jetBlue airways a320 or a321 they are the best.
45 seconds to takeoff due to heat. Normal is about 35 seconds.
Flaps deployed before starting up the engines?
Hot weather procedure. See above.
That was runway 26 not 25R
What was the sound at 3:03?
+HalomasterA69 PTU
+HalomasterA69 It's the PTU (Power Transfer Unit), which balances the hydraulic power. It cycles on and off due to pressure fluctuations. They're a bit noisy on the A320 series.
+2011zurich oh man I'm such a dork, I heard the noise around 3:11 and thought someone had a service dog onboard that was barking 😂 Thanks for clarifying!
And that is exactly why it is called the "Dog Bark" :P
HalomasterA69 it was a plane fart
is hot
I love this Sound , but this sound looks like saudi airlins.
love your vids, but probably not the best seat to film from.
yeah you're right
Why you hear good engine noise there such as startup. You also get to see the flaps operate.
I going on her 6 months new York City
I simply can't figure out why any U S A based airline would even think about flying Airbus aircraft when Boeings are so much better.
Also a correction: Your description says you took off on 25R but you took runway 26
Im scared of airplanes I get soooo 😓 nervous im going to Utah this may
No need to be nervous. I only get nervous if I might throw up, you know, if I forget to take my motion sickness pills.
Are you from Sweden?
+PlaneSpotter SE I live in Sweden. I'm half Swedish and half American!
those
Poor ground crew must be sweating their butts off.
Yeah! Today in Phoenix it was 122°F ! So hot! I couldn't even ride my bike or get the mail it was that hot!
Anyone else notice right after rotation the pilots extended the flaps more?
