Instead of using Audible and having to buy audiobooks, I use Overdrive, which connects to your library and you can check out audiobooks, then return them when you are done.

    • @harryanime23
      @harryanime23 6 лет назад +3

I use both Audible and Overdrive. That way if I don't have Audible credit. I can use Overdrive to listen to books. I love Audible celebrity classic voiceovers. I finished Dracula and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I'm now listening to Frankenstein and Journey to The Center of The Earth. Tim Curry does the voiceover.

I use overdrive too! There is also this thing called Hoopla that my library has, you should check it out. There is also CloudLibrary, you have to check with your library. There are so many better options than paying for audible tbh.

Our library uses both Overdrive and borrowbox. I prefer the borrowbox format and the range is as good as audible. Just have to reserve ones that are already checked out by other people.

Ok so I have seen alot of people talk about the illuminea files audiobooks. That book in particular is a more visual story with alot of pictures. In my opinion if you just read the audiobook you are missing out on a experience. But I cant deny a full cast....so I would say to not read it alone but read the audiobook with the physical book too. This is just my opinion I am a visual person so when a book like illuminae files has alot of pictures I tend to just read the book itself.

The one thing I find annoying about audio books is when the male will speak in a female voice and vice versa. It puts me off

    • @maiasitter677
      @maiasitter677 6 лет назад +3

MissOlivia The Gentlemen's Guide for Vice and Virtue is narrated by a man and he does all the voices, even the female ones. He is INCREDIBLE at them. You forget about it. Same thing with the Jim Dale Harry Potter narrations. Man does all the voices. Still incredible.
I get it. They can be stingy and done badly, but don't knock all one voice audiobooks. Some of them are AMAZING at doing all the different voices.

i just started listening to audiobooks and since i'm usually a visual person i thought i would try a book i had already read in case i got distracted so i'm listening to six of crows(actually finished the duology one day before restarted it-what can you do its amazing) and its sooo good. i thought i would get super lost and i mean i still think that with new books but i'm kind of getting the hang of it so hopefully in the future i won't have to read it first if i just want to listen to it.

I love Outlander! Voyager was my second favorite book out of the series so far. I just finished reading A Breath of Snow and Ashes and it was pretty good. I love seeing the character development that Diana does with these characters. I've been listening to a lot of audiobooks lately. You should try listening to Victoria by Daisy Goodwin. I know you like the show and the girl who narrates it does an amazing job on the voices. A few times I was convinced that it was Jenna Coleman but it was just her. What an amazing experience it must have been to be listing to Voyager while being in Scotland, so Jealous!

WARNING LONG: Okay Im so happy that I stumbled upon your youtube..I just started to really get into audio books, I have dabbled since 07 maybe even later can't remember...however....I being a new owner of my own start up and stay at home mom soon to start work out of the home...I don't have much time to open a book which I do love. Since I didn't learn to read till I was in 5th grade so book HUGE deal for me. So an actual book for me is nostalgic especially now with high tech things and all this capability ( not complaining...Im a early 70's baby here) So about a month or so ago I was desperate to get off the tube...TV, internet and really finish a book...now I have been trying to read this book since 2012...yup and only have gotten as far as chapter 3 or 4...So one day while looking up patterns for crochet inspiration and new it would be a while so I love multitasking I m on my phone and watching Sci Fi channel and I come to there page and they have a book list and I find a book that is so intriguing well not only that...as Im researching that book I get a notification that someone on my fb group is hearing a book and crocheting...and that was all I needed I started to look via my amazon book list ( 40 strong free and purchased books) and remembered the book I was so interested in that was recommended by sci fi channel home page. I find it and amazon takes me to audible and it was a wrap...I have so far read 3 audio books in the last month and half and what surprised me is that I find your youtube video and what do you say...you are reading the very book I am on which is the first review you do...he he and the second book is the book I have been trying to read since 2012 and I never ever had it in my mind to look for it via audiobook which I will now...Thank you for your share I will be subscribing thank you again..

I love the Percy Jackson audiobooks! But I was sad when they switched it to a different narrator for heroes of Olympus than the PJO one. I listened to part of Zenith on audio book! I didn’t hear you guys though because I skipped to the part that I was at at the time I’ll have to go back and listen to it! I also went and listened to the sample of Six of Crows and oh my gosh it’s amazing! I’m going to have to get it when I want to reread Six of Crows. Another amazing audiobook that you should listen to is Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer! It’s an amazing series and the audiobooks are fantastic because the narrators voice is amazing! Also the game of thrones audiobook is amazing! I haven’t finished it yet, but I love the narrator. I wish I had an aux cord in my car so I could listen to audiobooks more often!

Great video Sasha :) Definitely Outlander on audiobook is sooo good. Thank you for reccomending that one to me because last year I listened to it duing a difficult time in my life and I was able to escape into another world for a few days. I also reccomend the Harry Potter series narrated by Stephen Fry. He is so talented and funny and you can tell the parts when he's amused idk it was such a great experience listening to his narration. Another good one would beThe Game of Thrones by Roy Dotrice. Not only does the audiobook make dipping into this world way less daunting but, the guy has mad skills, he can switch between a 10 year od boy , a warrior, an old beggar lady. with ease. 14 by Peter Clines made me laugh so much. There were a few mistakes in it but they added to the charm of the audiobook. Like at one point the narrator thoughtt one character was indian (he got him switched with another character) but when it was revealed near the end of book that the character was supposed to be white he slowly tried to change the accent. You can kind of seem him going "oh shiiii, how do I get out of this?". Idk I like it when we get to know the narrator in little ways. I also liked Cress by Marrisa Meyer. The narrator's voice for Captain Thorn was so funny and weirdly attractive XD

Because I always say I’m reading it and EVERYONE tells me I’m wrong that I’m listening to it and that it’s not the same. The people that are saying this are also not readers so technically their opinion doesn’t count. 😄Lol😆 anyways what is everyone’s opinion on this? I’d love to know. Hi, my name is Lakshita and I am in middle school. One of my best friends wrote a book review on your book "Zenith" which she really liked. It would mean a lot to her if you could read it. Please and Thank you for your time!
"I think it’s about time a hardcore female hero took over the world of fantasy. You think
that too? Well I’ve found exactly what you’re looking for: The Bloody Baroness and her gang
full of gruesome, battle-ready girls from all over the Mirabel Galaxy. And yes, maybe I lied a
little bit. These girls aren’t exactly heroes...something along the lines of life-savers and
murderers . The book Zenith by Sasha Alsberg and Lindsay Cummings is definitely worth
    staying up all night over.
Androma, or Andi as they call her, has a very troubled past. Her planet loathes her
because of a catastrophe that was never meant to happen. As you might guess, that’s what grants
her the unfortunate fate of being on the run. It brutally forces her to leave her family, her planet,
and everything she had worked for. Now here’s the million dollar question: what has she been
doing ever since? She jumped from planet to planet, leaving a path of fresh blood behind her.
That earns her the grand title of The Bloody Baroness of the Mirabel Galaxy. No one dares to
defy her nor cross her path. Not to forget her equally vicious crew. Lira, Breck and Gilly come
from all over the galaxy. All of them with secrets that will make you want to cringe inside and
out. How coincidental, that the most bloodthirsty girls of the galaxy find each other? Sure it’s all
fun and games, but when a mission of their’s goes amiss, they find themselves back at Andi’s old
planet. General Cortas of Planet Arcardius offers Andi a way to redeem her sins. An
unbelievable miracle that is given to one out of a million people. But the redemption doesn’t
come easily. She and her crew are challenged to be set on a soul testing mission to rescue
General Cortas’ son, who was kidnapped by a planet named Xen Paterra. And of course, much to
Andi’s luck, her ex-boyfriend who totally betrayed her is also coming with her. All aboard the
Marauder (Andi’s spaceship, just in case you were wondering) and brace yourselves for the
unthinkable. Secrets of the past become uncovered, loyalties are tested and a twisted star crossed
relationship will keep you biting your nails through the whole book!
After a long time, I finally found a book that made me want to go home, sit on my couch,
and read until my legs get cramped from sitting too long. The minute I read the first sentence,
“Her nightmares were like bloodstains,” I knew that I was preparing for a roller-coaster worthy
adrenaline rush! (okay, maybe that’s pushing it a bit far, but it was very close!) Lindsay
Cummings and Sasha Alsberg have beautifully folded secrets within secrets behind the words on
the page. And somehow they had managed to expose these said “confidential matters” at such a
flawless times, that it made me go, “WHAT? HOW? IS THE WORLD OKAY?” I don’t know
about you, but it is the best feeling when a book toys with your emotions. Isn’t that the joy of
reading? This book constantly kept reminding me how much power a book holds over you. It’s
phenomenal how two pieces of cardboard and some pages with words in them made me wish my
brain would read as fast as The Flash! (Oh yeah, it’s that good!)"
If u made it this far, I really appreciate that you took your time to read this book review. Have a great day!!! :)

I am just through with "A Court Of Mist And Fury" and... I HATED IT SOOOOO MUCH!! The first half was just torture!!
Book 3 is finally better thank goodness. The main character is so unintelligent (the riddle in book one!) and annoying (negativ & self pitying thoughts 80 % of the time (and the narrator emphasized it what made it impossible to get over it). Only to the end of book to she grows a backbone and brain. So that book 3 is finally enjoyable like Sarah J. Maas other series Glass of Throne.
