Captain Ed Berger from the TackleDirect Pro Staff and Dave Colley from the St. Croix Pro staff discuss how to select the right St. Croix fishing rod at the TackleDirect Flagship store in Egg Harbor Twp, NJ. This video discusses how to select the appropriate fishing rod. Two of the most important aspects of choosing the right rod would be action and power. The blank shows a model number, followed by the power, followed by the action. Start with an ultra light rod and work your way up to heavier models. This refers to the line weight you are using and the lifting/fighting power of the rod. This video explains more about this.
*Seems like a pretty good reel **enjoyable.fishing** recommend and the rod is even better then I expected, pretty stiff for a medium but really nice quality.*
I had a splurge buy last year and bought a St.Croix rod last year.Love it!

Looking for a good inshore for striper that I can use for docks jetty’s and piers was looking at the mojo inshore but not sure as the lure ratings are 1/4-3/4 which I think isn’t enough
What did you end up deciding? Looking into same combo for NJ.
@@mattchew5965 I got a couple first is a 7’6 toadfish the others are just old 7’ bass rods I didn’t use with saltwater reeels
What do you recommend for 10 to 20 pound pike?
Tie the line to the back of your car and go full speed
@@96d96 lol they would probably still get loose
stiffer rods are always faster because they are stiff, and limber tip blanks are always slow, because they are limber . or wobbly
Great
Legend extreme is all you need to save up for they are 600 bucks
Why is it so good ? I’m looking for a striper inshore would I be able to use it for shore and surf ?
What would be the best med fast action spinning rod
The Avid X
I However, as a Marine corps veteran and court officer, it is my humble opinion after 62-yrs of fly fishing? St Croix makes the best legend series fly rods on the market especially the 9ft 5/6wt rod. However, the Elite and Ultra are totally and without questions, shit rods...Utter Garbage Rods. (Must be made in China) ... Never would I waste a dollar on anything other than legend original, NOT ULTRA OR ELITE... Otherwise look at Sage or TFO rods for a much better rod for value!
