Now that Dishonored 2 is out, I feel like the painting in the a Golden Cat is a reference to one of Delilah's witches. From the flowers, and how there is both pure white and regular toned skin on the person in the portrait.
I love when developers do this, add little interesting things that players may or may not find. They don't have to be there by any means but when you find them you know the devs put both soul and detail onto the game. It's kind of a rare sight these days.
The empress did have a bone charm in her secret room to prevent pregnancy, but I believe it was from BEFORE Emily was born. And seeing as it was in that room, which Corvo alone knew how to access, I think it was in that very room which Emily was conceived. Not only that, but I want to emphasize that Emily was concieved despite being in proximity to a charm of the void... hence why she herself years later would be chosen by the Outsider. Emily was a child of destiny all along.
Came here, found a new channel with top-notch trivia, endless puns and a great voice for this format. You, my friend, just acquired a new subscriber :D I do, however, have 2 theories of my own to add: 1. I think one of the devices which Pierro designed for the Golden Cat could very well be the electric SM-chair to which the Player finds that rich guy strapped into. 2. Far less convincing, but the clogged toilet in Coldridge Prison (DLC) might be an hommage to the Silent Hill games, in which some characters refuse to reach into toilets, while others just grab everything they possibly can carry
Awesome! I'm a big fan of the game and this was very interesting to watch. I hardly ever watch a 40 minute video on youtube. Great job! Much appreciated
At 41:45, the witch overlooking Lizzies Undine... I strongly believe that if we "catch her" watching, she leaves behind the "Statuesque" bone charm. In other playthroughs where I dont catch her watching, when I pick up the bone charm it's never statuesque but if I catch her it is. 😮
Great video I have learned quite a bit about dishonored from this but there is a few things you have missed, in the house of pleasure mission you can hear Lord Custus pendleton's "slave" if you will saying "who do you want me to be tonight, my friends say I look like lady boyle" then Custus follows up with "That lucky trollop? If I got those crystal deposits I wouldn't be throwing parties every night" something along the lines of that meaning the only reason she has parties and is so rich is because she found crystal deposits on her land :D
4 years late; however, since some of these are a stretch to begin with....the Overseer being fed his friend could be a reference to the Broodmother in Dragon Age: Origins who is created by feeding someone flesh. Usually the flesh of their friends and family.
The party in the boyle estate was my favourite mission, i hope they're going to include one mission like this( or at least similar to it) in the second game :) The social stealth part was really enjoyable and a lot of fun to replay in different ways.
Aww, you did the reference of 'Congratulations of getting your own squad' in 'Eminent Domain' but you never followed up (or I guess it should have been before if you did this mission by mission) with the whiskey and cigars reference that Butchers will make towards a City Watch officer during 'A Captain of Industry', that being 'Whiskey and cigars... do you ever think about anything else?'
In the Golden Cat you can torture an art dealer in an electro shock machine. This machine is used for his "pleasure" until you keep shocking him for information - i believe that this is the "specialised" device that Piero was talking about, rather than a regular vibrator. Also, at the start of that same mission, while interacting with Slack Jaw, you can walk up to his wanted poster and look at it and he'll comment. And (this isn't much of a spoiler if you've played D2) Emily enters your room at the hounds Pitts pub, wakes you up from your sleep, and hangs out in the corner. After finishing the next mission, look around your room for Emily's drawing of Corvo titled "Daddy". In the last mission you can read Havelock's diary, he ponders if Corvo is really Emily's father. My final "kinda cool fact" is that if you replay dishonoured a few times you'll enter your bedroom at the hounds pits and find several artefacts and several books - inside are the stories of characters such as Slack Jaw, Granny Rags, the lord regent, etc. Very interesting reads.
Also (and I wouldn't call this an Easter egg, but I'm throwing it in anyway), in the Boyle's estate the theme of the party is to guess who is who. Now if you walk outside of the dining area you'll see a man and woman talking. You can talk to the lady (wearing the fly mask) and she'll ask you to get her a drink. Go to the dining area, pour a glass from the fountain and hand it to her. She'll then give you detailed information about the three Boyle ladies, which helps with the mission
There is a note in witches mansion talking about how fortunate it is that daud didnt picked up any of the plans witches have towards emilly from this one captive witch that in the end suicided during the interegation
it seems weird to me that the dummy that blinks away is a whaler. after all it uses the same blink effect as granny or the brigmore witches. I always assumed it was one of delilah's witches or herself spying on corvo. in the brigmore witches dlc you see this quite a lot. (witches blinking away when you look at them and even the lore confirming it.)
The clock tower across the river looks a lot like that one in a certain Thief game, and if if your playing Thief and look outside your window, you see a small town across the river (the new one not the old one)... Coincidence I think not!
Do you think one of those guards got their own squad after what happened in the last game?

And seeing as it was in that room, which Corvo alone knew how to access, I think it was in that very room which Emily was conceived. Not only that, but I want to emphasize that Emily was concieved despite being in proximity to a charm of the void... hence why she herself years later would be chosen by the Outsider. Emily was a child of destiny all along.
Came here, found a new channel with top-notch trivia, endless puns and a great voice for this format. You, my friend, just acquired a new subscriber :D
I do, however, have 2 theories of my own to add:
Billie lurk "megan foster" has been in both dishonored and dishonored 2. Now she getting the main role in the newest dishonored.
There is no current plans or reveal for a new one though... shes in death of the outsider dlc. But thats it
@@patrickhowell2502 Death of the outsider is a separate game from dishonored 2 according to devs. Just made quickly with the same engine.
@@alflundgren8138 its labeled as a standalone expansion pack. So not quite dlc, and not quite its own game. I wish there was another full game.
Wow, you guys were thorough. You've earned a new subscriber.
Your name makes this comment worthless.
Well, you're the obvious authority on cool here.
actually the number was just a code to a room in looking glass studios. the relation to farenhite 451 is just a coincedence
If I got those crystal deposits I wouldn't be throwing parties every night" something along the lines of that meaning the only reason she has parties and is so rich is because she found crystal deposits on her land :D
the mission involving her mentions it's the type of crystal all those spotlights use btw
I don't usually watch long videos but your voice and the way you speak is priceless. The puns, the wordplay, I just love it. Subscribed
"I guess you could say it was 'the apple of his eye'"
_Guard will remember that..._
The look on his face!
1:33 you can find this painting in an apartment in Dishonored 2 in mission "edge of the world"
Yes. Also in d2 it has the cider bottle which confirms that cononically, corvo didn't drink it. Small thing to confirm but still kinda cool
the nostalgia from this game is amazing
4 years late; however, since some of these are a stretch to begin with....the Overseer being fed his friend could be a reference to the Broodmother in Dragon Age: Origins who is created by feeding someone flesh. Usually the flesh of their friends and family.
The party in the boyle estate was my favourite mission, i hope they're going to include one mission like this( or at least similar to it) in the second game :) The social stealth part was really enjoyable and a lot of fun to replay in different ways.
This is amazing! I would love to see this done with dishonored 2 one day. You're the only person I'd be okay with doing that and you're hilarious!
I think that the thing with the bonecharm is that Jesamine had it when Corvo knocked her up with emily
Brilliant Arrow Well it didn't work lol.
Yes i have waited months for something like this!
Heartburn52 Me to but i waited years
Impressive research and effort. Love all the easter eggs. Great job, man. Thumbs up.
She said she had the bone charm with her. She was lying.
Wow, just watched this as an huge dishonored world fan and I have to say thats what I lovr about this game so much ! Great video :)
the words the witch said is " I will be immortal"
You have missed the most important rule: An image of an angel becomes an angel. We're all doomed now.
Really well done - thoroughly enjoyed this mate :)
Some of the characters name references sound to far-fetch, have all these references been confirmed by the devs?
Harvey Smith just answered Lord Brisby wasn't a reference to the movie character.
Dude, just found this video. Been playing dishonored for years and haven't found most of this on my own...off to replay and get my vigor up. Cheers 🍻
The clock tower across the river looks a lot like that one in a certain Thief game, and if if your playing Thief and look outside your window, you see a small town across the river (the new one not the old one)... Coincidence I think not!
Looking at this with the eyes of playing dishonored 2 for least 200 hours is amazing to see all the references that are still around
chocked on my drink because of those ratty puns... save scaven your killin me here camel x.x
the spud muffin maker "Callista nearly got schematics to a fista." Had me fucking rolling.
not going to lie i died laughing at that one but i put my comment as soon as i heard the rat joke xD
I'm a huge fan, but its amazing how much better your videos are now.
I swear the voice in Brigmore Witches says "I want to see the Void."
amaaaaaazing quality video. great job man! had me laughing and wowing the entire time
Me: "She sounds like Carrie Fisher."
CW: says it's Carrie Fisher
Me: "Kewl."
This is one of the best easter egg videos on any game out there.
I actually paused the video to go get a glass of whiskey and pack a pipe.
No cigars :'(
