Went to try this method. Bought my max repels, flew to Mauville, sprayed one and found Latios surfing over into the route. Thank you😂
I would use a trapinch with arena trap to help keep him from running if i didn't have a madter ball
I use metang with scary face
Stop capping Latios flees before you can even attack with or without Trapinch's arena trap

@@raidernation2163raise the speed of the pokemon with the item you can buy off the megastore, that way you’ll attack first
Or use wobbuffet and or a Pokemon with a mean look move
I found this boy three time, first time he escaped. I bought a Wobufeet to prevent his escaping but he was fainted and he flew away 2nd time also same scenario
The amount of self-control it took to not use the master ball on Kyogre/Groudon 🗿 all for this
You can just clone the master balls lol

with wobbuffet it wont run away and single mirror coat will take it to red if he uses psychic. no need wasting master ball

@@nowherenearby9461don't be so sure my Trapinch Arena Trap ability didn't stop Latios from fleeing so I doubt that strategy would work I could be wrong tho but there's a good chance he might be capping his ass off
@@raidernation2163 I think Wobbuffet works but Arena Trap doesn't for some reason, cause I saw other people using Wobbuffet for him not to flee
@@raidernation2163 I already wasted my Master Ball on him anyway so it doesn't matter to me. But yeah I'd take it with a grain of salt
@@nowherenearby9461 Nice I was planning on saving my masterball on Rayquaza and when to all the trouble of catching a Trapinch with Arena trap and leveling it up to lvl 30 too but as soon it fled the first time I was like f*ck it I'm using the masterball cuz Rayquaza doesn't flee in battle
Thx bro, ur guide helped! I used a Smeargle with Mean Look, False Swipe, and Spore to catch this thing. It wasn't fun lmao
I have yet to build a trapping Smeargle, sounds like a lot of work but also fun. How did you keep Smeargle alive long enough to catch it?
@@TechnoTrainer Since my Smeargle was faster I could just spam spore and use hyper potions while Latios was asleep to stay alive. Took a few attempts but I was able to catch him in under an hour. I wanna save my master ball for any random shinies I might find one day
@@polarbullet5551 if the game you're playing is a legit cartridge or a clean version and not a ROM hack, you can use the battle frontier duplication glitch to clone your masterballs and use how ever many of them especially in emerald! There are plenty of guides that help you and it's a very safe glitch so it doesn't corrupt data or anything as well
Tips:
DO NOT SAVE after you leave your room if you are resetting for good Natures/IVs. Those are determined the moment you read the TV and pick your color.
Werster used Route 110 in his All Battle Frontier Symbols speedrun. Running in and out of the bottom cycling road door produces similar results.
Better bet is to use a Pkmn between Lvls 36 and 40 so that you can SURF without rolling other encounters. That's if you like using the water routes.
The Acro Bike bouncing is nice if you like conserving repels.
Can’t you save and restart when you’re on the same route as Latios/as?
the save doesn't work on roaming pokemon, i.e Latios/as still changes locations after you soft reset

I found Latios in the first path of grass I stepped into. Then saved incase I oneshot but it fled so I went back and did it again but used my master ball.
I literally got it first try with this method! Thanks!

@@brainstew1723nah facts i think latios is harder to get, latias 1st play through was easy. I have a lvl 36 and have not encountered it first time. Debating wether to get him in heart gold.

lol searched an hour near safari, then watched this video and found lugio first try in that grass. Didn’t even have to change routes to 119

I got super lucky got an latios encounter in like the second I went into the grass
Thanks found and caught Latios my second encounter used the Masterball cuz I had too since he instantly flee before you can launch a single attack and mofos on the comments be lying about Trapinch's Arena trap being able to stop him 🙄

I just bought emerald off of someone and they had 2 shiny rayquezas and 12 masterballs 😅 just need to find him at this point

It will spawn if your lead is less than level 40 but higher than the rest in the grass you're searching in. That's why I recommended Route 110 in the video as its a great spot

If you chose RED once you beat the game and spoke with mom, then yes.
If you chose BLUE, then no.
50 Max Repels in and no Latios.
I'd reset so you get a fresh start and your Repels back

I dont have to get them as roaming pokemon cuz even if i emulate the game, i have a rom of the 10th anniversary distribution cartridge which allows me to get an infinite amount of latias and latios.

Bro do I need to have Rayquaza to find this thing? I’m literally 110 max repels and 60 super repels through the preferred route of 1st encounter. I cannot find this thing 🤣
You just need to have beaten the game.. if you haven't then you're wasting time lol
@@TechnoTrainer I have but didn’t do rayquaza encounter yet, I always save that one for last. I’m going crazy in this grass patch back and forth between routes. I’ve had to run laps on trainers eyes battles for more money for repels 2 or 3 times already. Easily spent 6 hours at this
@@Scumbagel69 Wow that's crazy unfortunate. Just to reiterate, I wouldn't save the game after 10+ Repels are used as you gained nothing from it
Spray a repel in that patch of grass, run two small circles, go into Slateport and back and do it again
Minimize the amount of time you're NOT doing that, like battling. Soft reset after 10+ Repels to make sure you don't lose out on them.
Also, your lead Pokémon is between level 30 and 40, yeah?
@@TechnoTrainer Yes I have metang at 38 repel run around routes 118, 119, and 123. I did start to soft reset after 30 max repels at this point. Do you think having metang hold a white flute and repelling would better my odds at all?
@@Scumbagel69 It would definitely help prevent the accidental skip of Latios if it was ever in the route, but otherwise not a whole lot
