Lots of great information. ..but I must say...as some one who sells his own music on CD and Vinyl. ..CD is not as dead a medium as you may think...and I for one am very happy that we have the option to get this on CD...they should have done both vinyl and CD deluxe set...like Marillion did. With all due respect my friend, CD is a dead medium. As I mentioned in the show, new cars do not come with players anymore, nor do computers. Wal-Mart has all but dropped the format from it's stores. And when that finally completely happens, it's really over for the format. It's still hanging on for now. But it is now being outsold by Vinyl. If you look at the trend over the last 5 years, it's dropping like a rock. All major acts are vinyl focused - especially with box sets. I'm not saying they shouldn't have done CD's. I'm just saying, based on nearly ever other major act with box sets today, they should have included both in a "super deluxe" box set. To not be able to get ALL of the audio from this release on vinyl is a massive misstep. (Jason)

The Moving Pictures boxset was $249, if I recall correctly, and has five vinyl albums and four cd’s in a single box. All of Rush’s other box sets have both vinyl and cd and were under $200. So if they can do it…
Very good video on the 45 Destroyer box set. Jason pointed out the live in paris as being audience recorded and I just wanted to know if it sounds better than the bootlegs in circulation or not? I have both the vinyl and box set coming but since the Paris show is the live disc in the set, professional release, does it at least sound better than the bootlegs of the past? I also wonder why they went with a show that is audience recorded over a soundboard and was shocked when you said it. It does not make any sense, and I agree with you. My other question is on the sales of the box set and the company wanting to sell other sets. How are the sales? Is it selling out the roof or look like a sold out thing? Or are the box sets under selling? Thank you.
A pretty good effort but as a vinyl collector, the lack of a vinyl specific version of this boxset is disappointing. Frankly, I havent purchased a CD in ages. Instead of CD, I would've preferred a vinyl boxset along with a download code for the digital versions. Also a blu-ray of KISS Destroys Anaheim would've been awesome as well.
To offer the other side of the argument, if they had included Vinyl then the price would have been even higher, and I wouldn't have bothered. I don't have any use for Vinyl. I know there are fans of Vinyl out there, and it would be great if you could get this in your format of choice, but for me it would have to be a separate box, not a single one with both formats.

@@MaterLacrymarum I'm like you, no real use for vinyl other than it's cool to look at...especially KISS vinyl, looks great signed in a frame on the wall. I grew up on vinyl...was always crap. I listen to the new releases that come with vinyl, they never sound superior to CD. That being said, the cost, HAD vinyl been included in this set shouldn't have added on that much to the total. I'll use Metallica as my basis....their box sets (Kill 'em all to the self titled) have vinyl included. All had remastered vinyl of the album, picture discs and then live shows on vinyl. plus everything else and more on CD, and DVD's included as well....26 discs, plus the books, pins posters laminates and other assorted swag. Their box sets are MASSIVE. Price for the black album box when I ordered...$251 CDN. Price for the Destroyer Box when I ordered, $235 CDN. Wonder how Metallica can pump out these massive box sets that include vinyl at incredibly friendly prices and other bands/record labels can't? Every band should be looking at what Metallica is doing as the gold standard. I remember when KISS was the gold standard. Not any more.
@@lemmyk8830 Spot on. I have all the Metallica boxes and they are jam-packed with everything a fan would want. I’m really surprised KISS didn’t follow that blueprint here. Somebody dropped the ball. I don’t think I’ll ever bother to get these for these reasons. Everything should have been included as one.
The new Elder collection is nice. The prints on the t-shirts have been amazing lately, unfortunately they continue to use the lowest of quality in material.

The only flaw that I see with this set, and it is miniscule really... There was never a Mono version of Detroit Rock City released. Most of the promo 45's were Mono/Stereo, but the promotional copy had Detroit Rock City on the A side, and Beth on the B side, both stereo. They reissued the promo and had Beth on the A Side and Detroit Rock City on the B side, both stereo. There is also a promotional 45 that has a Mono/Stereo version of Beth. Shout It Out Loud had the Mono/Stereo version of the 2:38 single mix, and also a very rare Mono/Stereo version of the 2:50 LP version. Like I said, miniscule
Jason - I am pleased the vinyl wasn't included in the boxset as it increases the chance of more people buying it by keeping the price point at $200. I am a vinyl collector too and did buy the vinyl as I am lucky to have the money to do so but accept others do not. What would have been nice is if the 2nd vinyl had been the Paris gig and not the outtakes/demos.
I have this on order. If they had included the Vinyl in the box, I wouldn't have bought it at all. The extra cost would have been prohibitive, and I don't play Vinyl.
Are the Metallica box sets anomalies in the deluxe version world? For me, that’s the easiest comparison for cost/content. I have all 5 Metallica sets and I don’t even like their best stuff better than KISS’ less than best, just to give my perspective of fanhood.
Seems like Metallica gives you the most for the money I would say. Multiple LP's and CD's along with other goodies for a good price...Happy there is finally something happening with Kiss in the box set world. We will see what else they do coming up. A lot of people wish there would have been a vinyl version,but it is what it is. Stiil looks really cool and I have mine ordered already.
$200 is an insult for what you get. Total cash grab. Led Zeppelin and Tom Petty give you more content for less money. Plus, you can find almost 40 of the demos and unreleased rarities online which is a lot more than this box set is offering. In other words, nothing new that KISS fans haven’t heard. If it was $100, I’m all over it. $200? Forget about it.
Wow over 3 hours watching & listening to four men discuss the Destroyer anniversary. I expected to hear all the tracks on this anniversary reissue. Borrrrring, what a complete waste of time

So what's the verdict on the sound quality of the new remaster of the original album? The '97 remaster is great so is this any different?
