In the moment I thought someone had a trail camera on and Austin Kutcher was going to pop out and say your punkd . Fully understand critiques, it’s an unbelievable moment.

Go check out a channel called Hoovers boys , or green mountain metal detecting who have all found gold coins and they come out looking just like this one now is it possible it’s faked sure but gold comes out looking brand news especially if it’s dropped in a place there’s no activity to disturb it for 100+ years your gonna find gold come up like this

either they did dig it up or they bought it online either way they still have it but one means that they don’t need to be met detecting cause they are already fairly well off and the other means they are just really lucky and have gotten a decent bit of cash

Copper, brass, and silver tarnish over time when buried in the ground. They will also tarnish over time when NOT buried in the ground (oxidation). Gold does not tarnish or oxidize. Even if that gold coin had been buried in the ground for a thousand years, it would still be bright and shiny. That's gold!

Been metal detecting old ground sense 1987 and have dug over 1000 silver coins. I have to honestly say this coin and the ground around it does not look formed and crused which is a natural transformation that occures once a coin is lost. It takes years and decades for this baked like ridgid crust to occur. Cheers everyone and happy hunting

I know for a fact that wasn't dug at of the ground. Gold doesn't corrode and can look brand new out of the ground. BUT YOUR COIN is polished which is a dead giveaway that you didn't dig that because they didn't even do that back then.

OMG. The only real chance of that happening around my part of the world would be if the coin was in a bezel, worn as a pendant, and was a relatively recent drop.

Far out on a low tide a detectorist found a 1 oz canadian olympic commemorative gold coin, it had wear on it that made it obvious that it had been clamped into a pendant. There actually have been old US gold coins found around here, the small $2 ones i think, but I've only heard of 2 of those in the last ten years.
And I was happy to find a 1970 penny with no mint mark, estimate value of $350. 😅 Keep digging, I’m sure there’s still a few good finds in the dirt somewhere.
I've a couple of people dig up gold coins that look just like or similar to this on YT or on other sites online. I once dug up a Type 1 Liberty Head $1 coin and it looks like it was minted almost yesterday because gold doesn't tarnish, corrode, rust or anything.
That is the cleanest coin to ever come out of the dirt.
