aftermarket screens support some car settings after selecting the correct CANBUS type but it's no match for the original screen's settings capabilities. fuel monitor, signal volume likely are supported but more trim specific features like horn/alarm preferences/tire pressure reset, etc. are less likely. in my instance I had a Junsun V1 Pro and a Citroen C4 (B7) where some settings were available after selecting the correct CANBUS type, I swapped out the CANBUS decoder for another which gave me open door alerts but at the expense of proximity beep tones when reversing.
My question is you have to use the original screen to take off the maintenance light for the oil and tire rotation. How do you do that with the new screen?

Same thing, can't find where to plug that big red connector to. That's the one with the speaker wires so unless that's plugged in, there won't be sound. Don't want to re-wire every speaker separately to the head unit. Took out the trunk panels, the glovebox, the centre console, the CD player. can't find where that red plug goes to. Anyone got the answer?
@@Davidtheinfidel before you removed the Mazda unit turn off the Maintenance settings like for the oil change just leave it blank and then remove it with the aftermarket CarPlay
What about the oil maintenance light, can you adjust it and reset it with this unit? Im assuming you loose all the mazda apps like fuel monitor and maintenance page? I also have the boot loop problem on my stock unit

Hi all, i have the Bose sound version of a Mazda3 2015. Does anyone else have the same setup with working sound? I cannot get my sound working. There is a cable that doesn't match the headunit, i assume it is for the Bose amp. Do i need to manually splice into the factory harness and comnext ext amp cable to car? Also how would i get tthe sound feed to the Bose loom? Sorry for all the questions, just really stuck at. Thanks

Dang man, I got mine off Amazon for $150. Also, in my 2nd Gen, I took an old laptop hard drive and out it in a portable case, then ran a USB cable from the glove box to the head unit and downloaded VLC onto it. I had over 400 movies and TV shows on it so when I was sitting in traffic I would just watch movies.
Also, I think there's a 4+64gb version floating around which was like $30 more bucks but shipping was going to take forever so I settled for the middle of the road.

I got this brand K3 stereo for my 2017 Mazda 3 sport GT, every thing is fine except the reverse camera not working, so I just want to ask when you install your stereo did the reverse camera automatically work or you need to change some settings on the system?
I have a aftermarket unit that came with its own button controller near the shifter and was looking to keep the factory one. Can you tell me what version your canbus decoder and what settings you have in your factory firmware?

@@antdo Thanks Anthony. They do seem to be a bit hinky when it comes to performance, but the price on these things is dirt cheap! Since you made the video, the price of the one you have is in the low 200s now. Some others are as low as $125. For that price, I'd be willing to take a chance. When I got my 3 I had the re-booting problem all the time. It was fixed eventually when the dealership did a firmware upgrade. However, nine years in and the crystal touch screen cracked and now it's ghost touching like crazy. Trying to figure my options, THANK YOU for the video, at least I have an idea what I'm getting into!
I have a 2015 and it’s doing the same damn thing! it’s been doing it off and on for about three yrs Also, you didn’t mention if the rear view camera works on the screen. Did you have any issues seeing the rear view on this infotainment model replacement? I’m ready to replace mine

I must say that your system looks really good what is the name and model of the android unit you installed? Also, I'm sure it's been a while now - what vehicle settings have you retained and what was sacrificed? Just need to understand the main features that I would be losing. Lastly, how is the interface working with your bose sound system?
@@antdo I don't have a frame of reference since this is my first infotainment system in a car but the stock system is OK. What I dislike most is the lack of any meaningful audio adjustments like an equalizer. Android is a very versatile OS since it is based on linux and used for so many things. That's what is enticing me to swap it but I'll probably wait until my warranty expires first haha.

I purchased one was working first night had installer do it tho..the backup camera and steering wheel controls werent working took it back he pulled it out and looked for a second put it back in and then when i drove off service light and other lights began flashing..

@@antdo 1200€ ? The genuine Mazda Android Auto and Apple Car play doesn't cost that Much money. About 100€ if you install it by yourself and about 500€ if you ask Mazda to do it.

When installed mine, I had no mouse, no steering controls, and no audio. Can't figure it out. Is this part of the Decoder programming?

Ghost touch is fixed by a $20 digitizer replacement or disconnecting the touch screen cable and going without touch screen.

This head unit comes with it's own USB ports and extension so they can be routed to the glove box.

U can just grab a 2017 model screen from salvage yard got mine for 70$ has black bezel and better shape looks way better all plug and play

That's a common issue and easily fixed by replacing the digitizer, only costs about 15-20 dollars. There's videos on RUclips of how to do it
there's an option where you remove one of the cables to the monitor that disables the touch screen. it fixed my ghost issue.

You need an extra long ratchet extender. Holy hell that was a hard bolt to remove.

Now that you've had it for a few months, how are you liking it? I'm considering making the swap as well.
I like it a lot. But I can't really say how it is compared to stock since when I got the Mazda it had the factory rest issue from the get go.

That's a great alternative but for the price, I prefear keep the genuine one and install Android auto.
