  • A lightly sequenced DnB/dub loop through the Solid State Logic Bus+, with some tweaking. Analog loop with a Crane Song Hedd Quantum.

Does it complement the Modular Channel well ? I have a modular Channel and was thinking of pairing it with the Bus +

i didn't get a chance to patch it into the MC's insert path, but probably. It can rein in some of the dynamics you can achieve with the MC for sure, but so can a lot of compressors ;) I actually returned the Bus + yesterday so can no longer test.

@@Rareos So whats you're honest opinion on the Ssl bus plus?

What are you feeding on the EXT SC input? Straight cable from Input send?

yes it is patched in a loop through a patchbay, i just didn't realize it was engaged. Still getting to know it ;)

@@Rareos it's actually a very neat trick when used along with POST-DEQ (D-EQ into comp) to avoid changes from the D-EQ affecting the compressor.
Same goes in reverse if you are pre D-EQ, engage EXT SC on D-EQ to avoid compressor changes affecting the D-EQ.

@@BoredQwerty that’s interesting, thanks for the tip, I guess it only applies in feed forward mode?

@@Rareos no in every mode really. FF/FB applies to the compressor module within itself. The trick I mentioned is about interaction between D-EQ and comp modules.
In that video/setup, without the EXT-SC enabled on comp you would have had excessive compression everytime you overboosted LF or HF. Have a play with/without, see what you think!
