I know I'm old. When I used to street race, I ran several times. Never caught!!.
One thing I'd like to share with the newer generation racers is..... Always race @ night, Install a kill switch on ALL your taillights.
It makes it so much easier to dip around corners, slow down without them knowing....etc , etc etc...

I here you ive run too. But times have changed we would race right off a busy intersection not busy at the time but rarely got bothered now there's so many cops out there.
I knew this guy...that drove a Mazda rx7 and he ran from the cops when a street race got busted. He parked his car in a parking garage and tried walking away hoping the cops wouldn’t notice him, but they did because he had a pretty lengthy criminal record. So the cops try to detain him and he started running away. Well this guy in a Mitsubishi Eclipse with a butt load of nitrous happened to be driving by and picked him up. Even though the guy with the eclipse owed him his car because he just lost to the rx7 in a drag race. The guy driving the eclipse was actually an undercover cop and a pretty good driver so he successfully escaped the police.

Tokahontas I daily drive a 2v and a 4v 4.6 and let me tell u there's plenty of top end on the crown Vic. The cvpi's got higher shift points that really helped dropping back into the power band when shifting into third. If it wasn't for OD being such a weak gear on the trans and the driveshaft whipping through the floor, I would bet it would pull happily up to around 150 before it starts running out of breath.

I'm sure most of us can out run those chargers. HOWEVER you can't outrun their radios. If you've already bolted, then cut your lights, take the next exit, make a few turns and leave your car at the mall. Come back for it next day.

When i got caught, cop literally told me, my taillights gave me away, even though i was 2miles ahead with my needles buried.
INSTALL a kill switch for the running rear and brake indicator lights guys. You can see them for miles. Especially at night when there are not many people on the road. Because despite our cars being faster, cops are trained to track suspects theyre chasing. You CAN out run the radio, when officers dont have information to provide. Hit the switch and get the fuck outta dodge!! Park your car, and have someone in the group pick you up. Come back for it the next day.
"Fleeing and Eluding" is a felony, without a good lawyer like i had, youre likely to be convicted. Stay safe.
If you werent caught in the act and you were just cruising. Just pull over. Ticket are easier to fight, if you dont like tickets, hit the switch and boogie lmao. Since i wired my switch, im a ghost. Most cops dont even bother to chase, because theyre not idiots and know they wont be able to catch you without a line of sight.

I was driving my RV cross country when I got pulled over for not staying in my lane ... oh, sorry, wrong forum ...
Fastest I remember going was about 130+ mph...I was late for work. Took a 35 minute (via speed limit), and turned it into a 12 minute run.
This took place in the early 80's, in Seattle, at 5am, driving a '71 Camaro.

Just depends on the cops mood if you did pullover. The cop can still impound your car, put you in jail, and give you a ticket or multiple tickets. A lot of those decisions are based on if the officer feels like doing all that paperwork involved with the whole 9 yards. The officer could just write a ticket. You just dont know unfortunately.
That's all true, but on the other hand, you know FOR SURE you're fucked if you get caught after running. Sometimes these guys have other issues (e.g. outstanding warrants) totally unrelated to the street racing which might be part of the reason they run. Or they're simply too excited and think they can get lucky and evade. All I know is I've seen dozens and dozens of videos over the years of people getting pulled over after blatant street racing and just get a "you guys need to wrap it up for the night, have a good one" from the cop, or even "hey nice car."

Gotta get off the freeway ASAP when you're running from multiple police units. Even if you're unfamiliar with the area, it's your best chance. Put enough distance between you and the lead cruiser, and take the first exit you can find and get the hell out of dodge.
Speaking as a State LEO. That definitely doesnt work. When you run from State we reach out to any and every neighboring department for assistance. Way more of us than 1 person running

I've gotten away from multiple cars in a variety of ways, but when there's little to no traffic to help me get more distance while boxing them in, the best strategy is to gain as much straight line distance then turn back, gain as much distance as possible then get out next exit and give them the run around by doing a loop back the way you were going. It's like when a fox turns back to throw its scent out so bloodhounds go the wrong way then it goes around them and turns back to go the way it was originally going.

I got pulled over allegedly doing excess of 120mph and racing thru traffic in California. Cop threatened to arrest me and take my bike (I know should have ran, but was my 2nd day owning the bike and I wasn't comfortable with it yet lol). Facing possibly $2k worth of fines now. Shits ridiculous. Like no wonder people run. Think I'm gonna stop next time and catch another $2k worth of fines? Damn, I could have bought another bike for that. lol.

Just gotta think smart about it. Be proactive with a police radar detector thing. I got one and i don’t even race, i just use it to avoid getting speeding tickets.

I ran from cops plenty of times street racing at our local meets and u never go on the interstate, and u never keep down a straight road or highway, every time I ran from them I turn my lights off( I know very dangerous) and I never keep down a straight road, I take all the back roads to get home and park the car in the backyard lol. Cause I stay close to our race spots lol.

I then pulled into a gas station and went shopping. 5 Min later the cop comes into the gas station and asked " who challenge is this?" I said mine. He accused me of going 130+mph. obviously I denied everything. I got off cuz he couldn't prove It was me.

You guys real suck. No, they do not have superchargers, or turbos. Once the eye in the sky is on you, that's it. Like the guy running the Repsol CBR in California years ago. Most real nice police cars like the 1 single Challenger SRT8, are just used as promotional vehicles for recruitment. Last decent cars in law enforcement were the LS1 Camaros used by highway patrol agencies around the US. Those were actually capable of 155+ mph (speedo topped out at 155, most likely able to do about 160 with a tune).

I ran from the cops on a moped when I was 14 and got away. Then I ran from the cops again when I was 25 in a Town & Country van... lost them by going left then right, double back zig zag and park... they flew by and I went the opposite way....

Has been done on little 600cc bikes that won't break 155mph dust cops if he could go 180 he should of been fine just didn't know what to do if he'd blasted off jumped next exit or blasted up two exits and got off
Kahrese Lee Bikes can fit between cars and disappear tho, a car can only get so far before it needs to slow down for other cars in front of it. Running in a car is just stupid no matter how fast it is.
Sage 305 exactly.. its only the lane splitting ability and mutliple turns and exit ramps that makes bikes more successful.. and the roll on acceleration makes it alot easier from when your going 40-60 mph and then punching it to 150+.. but constantly doing 150+ for miles wont help.

Kahrese Lee well a lot of places cops aren't even allowed to chase motorcycles and only an idiot would lane split at high speeds and no getting stuck in traffic isn't good when you're on a motorcycle a cop can run as fast as a motorcycle can split through traffic (if other cars leave enough room anyway)

I10 is straight, yes you can exit but with DPS, Sheriffs, Constables, and local PDs radioing ahead chances are slim to none.
In all of the 25 years that I have been out there and had to make a run (two dozen times give or take), I was caught twice. Once they kept and sold my car at police auction. The other, I thought I got away... Until I didn't. The cops backed off and the helicopter was on me the whole time. As soon as I stopped, there was a road block on both ends of me to stick it in me front and back. That ticket was $4,700. Now I only run when I am on my m/c.
When your that committed like say 180 MPH worth it's just crazy to stop do the best you can to put distance between you and them and just find a hole to drive in and wait it out...

i quit street racing long ago..the risk just wasn't worth it anymore, saw too many high speed collisions with other cars and too many innocent people killed...doing this in Texas if you're caught say goodbye to your license and freedom..

It works both ways really. The guy in he Mustang could have stopped and dealt with something more minor. And the cops could have not increased the danger on the road by exponentially increasing the number of cars on the street flying by other motorists at crazy speeds.

Wow.. all he had to do was pull over. Majority of the time the cops will give you a warning or ticket at most. The only people I’ve ever seen get their car taken away are the ones who run from the cops or wreck while street racing.
