I miss having a room just for plants and book reading. We moved from California to Virginia, and down sized including living space; house to an apartment because we're wanting to stay mobile for a few. About 5 of my plants died moving here, after thriving in California. Different climate, lighting, etc. Your plants look so healthy and happy!🪴
Thank you so much! I can't image that shock to them. When we moved into this house, it was just a few miles away from the old house. But the change in conditions definitely did a few in and had some of the others suffering! I try to find a spot where plants are happy and then let them be. I learned through a lot of trial and error that too much fussing over them can sometimes be really bad :)
@ByBrittanyG You have some beautiful plants! Yes, Take Root is a great shop. I have filmed shopping videos there and it's been a while so I will stop in soon. Great to meet you! I'm Mona. 🙂
@@planttherapy1860 You too!! Have you been out to Thanksgiving Farms?? Awesome owners there too. It's kind of far from us, but they are worth the drive to the other side of the county when I want to browse cool stuff or get perennials and annuals for the garden!!
@ByBrittanyG Yes, I have been shopping there for years. Dutch Plant Farm, too! I love gardening, and now my house is full of houseplants but mostly hoyas. 🙂
Do you have any plant swap groups in your area?? We have a FB group for plant swaps and stuff in my county, I have given away tons of cuttings over the years!! I would check that out for sure!
First time watching your channel ... thanks for touring just one room and sharing a bit of the history of each plant, incl. pix of when you got them. That helps so much! Do you make your own substrate? What do you feed your plants? Thanks.
Hey there! Thanks for your kind words! I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest as the base for almost everything. If I need to make it a bit chunkier, I always keep a bag of coconut husks on hand (like the kind reptiles use in their enclosures) and also some perlite. But I find that Ocean Forest is perfect for almost all of my plants right out of the bag. Some of these plants haven't been repotting in years though lol. I am so lazy with fertilizer, I was feeding them Liqui-Dirt added to the watering can every month (or when I remembered) for a few years. Now I'm mostly using Fox Farm Grow Big every couple of months in the spring, summer, and early fall. It's not cheap, but a container lasts me forever since it's so highly concentrated!
Ty!! I actually have an older video on it here: ruclips.net/video/2UHOakhO2as/видео.html But the basics are plenty of bright, indirect light, water when the soil dries out. I haven't repotted in years lol. And it gets pretty average household humidity levels!
I’ve had to bring all my plants into my sunroom too, and although I changed out to all new soil, Central Texas, we are being plagued with fungus gnats.
Yes! It's the Denna Chaise from Joybird. I hemmed and hawed over ordering it bc of bad reviews about Joybird in general when I searched online, but we had a great experience. You can order color/fabric swatches beforehand, too. If you get it, definitely wait for a good sale, they are often running them. joybird.com/single-arm-chaises/denna-single-arm-chaise/?srsltid=AfmBOorBtz9MwKdi0go_KfQkQWUJeMupNjVUN5aanhMjSa7I4SSuOJnh
You have a gorgeous collection of plants! How do you prevent or deal with pests like mealy bugs? I’ve had to get rid of so many plants because I could never win the battle once a plant got mealys.
I quarantine anything new that comes into my home, but my collection has been pretty stable for a while now. I also like to take the plants to the sink and rinse off the foliage, tops and bottoms as best as I can, about once a month or so to clean off the leaves. Anything I see signs of pests on gets a soapy bath and isolated immediately, too. It's all about regular inspections and isolating any problem plants, but I get it--it's a lot, and pests are so stressful!!
That's the most beautiful marble queen pithos I've ever seen!
Thank you so much!! One of my favorites, I am going to try to do a pothos video soon!
Thanks for your video and sharing your beautiful home with us. ❤Canada 🇨🇦
thanks for watching!!
Beautiful collection ❤
I really enjoyed your plants, a beautiful collection. 💚❣️
Thank you so much!
You are so lucky to have a room that is so perfect for indoor plants! Sunlight all day long!😊
Thank you! It definitely is, a real bear to run the AC in during the summer lol, but it's worth it!
Fantastic plants🎄💚

Wunderschöne Pflanzen. Herzliche Grüße aus Bayern ! 🌹🌵🌟

What an amazing collection 💚 I also love love love your sunroom 💚
Thank you so much!! It's a dream space, I feel lucky to have it!
Yeah this is goals! I hope someday I can have such a beautiful sunroom!
to stop a Monstera growboard from toppling you can drill a hook in the ceiling and tie the grow board to the ceiling.
Smart!! Thanks!

Hi neighbor!! She's the best! My linearis is from Take Root. Surely a bunch of others, too, but I can't keep track lol

Glad you liked it!
That Linearis is amazing. Can you give us some tips?

Forgot I also did a review about it on my website! www.bybrittanygoldwyn.com/joybird/
Beautiful plants ❤ I would buy some cutting of your monstera, instead of you throwing it away next time😊
Haha most of the time I just take them to the monthly plant swap that goes on in my city!
@ByBrittanyG 🤣 A girl can try🤣🤣

Does your hoyas bloom pretty fast after you get them?? Do they take a long time..????MINDY
most of mine have taken a few years, but if you get one that's pretty big or mature, it might bloom faster!
@@ByBrittanyG THANK YOU SO MUCH....I have one for many years. It bloomed once but never again..
My flowering cactus I haven’t been able to get flowers any suggestions would be appreciated
Happy New Years
What kind of cactus is it? Sometimes it's just about age and the plant needing to be more mature :(
how old is your linearis?
About 5 years I'd say. It has been in the same pot this whole time, and when I got it, it was just starting to grow over the sides of the pot
And, I can’t get my cat to stop trying to eat plants!
