can you imagine a woman who is 89 years old and still love her work and masters it ? with all my respect to the people of japan . THAN YOU for this video
Here in Bulgaria, the women never retire, they do housework they raise the children they look after the area and then as they get older, they look after the children of the apartment block or the village, including their own grandchildren. They sweep the communal areas they plant the gardens et cetera, they live to 95 years old and are amazingly active.
The men retire from formal jobs at 65, and then dead by, 68...
I'm British, 53 year old man, watching the life here has made me determined that I will never retire in the western sense.
@@piccalillipit9211 That's a blessing.
Here in Australia they're 62, never worked for 30 years, kids left home 20 years ago, and saying they need to "retire" while they have a robovaccum, dishwasher and automatic washing machine (clothes) and their husband is still doing 40-50 hours a week.
And still have all her fingers, I'd be real nervous around that table saw and the human salad shooter disk of death thing she was planing the outside of the container with. One slip up and half your hand is gone in an instant.
And still having her 2 handicap....
As a fellow woodturner, I wish her many more years of being a master at her craft.
It would be nice. Beneficial to hearts and minds.
Watching crafts made by Japanese is so relaxing. There’s never movement made that isn’t part of the process, no wasted actions. Everything is done for a purpose and the object is handled gently and seemingly respectfully. To me it’s peaceful and relaxing.
You can see clearly that its made not by the speed but by the skills!❤
Wow, it was lovely to see the end part where the lid slowly slides down the body. It shows the meticulous calculation of chipping away the extra and letting it fit perfectly. A big thumbs up to Grandma.
That's called a 'piston fit' and it takes a LOT of work to perfect. Absolutely beautiful work.
Yes - and AIRTIGHT. I would buy one of these tea caddies like a SHOT!
Yes, it's so beautiful. We all would like to buy one of those brilliantly made tea caddies.
But, the fact that an old lady is capable to produce it, and that she possesses such a briliant artistic skill, that whole her life is THE ART , that's truly awesome!
My deepest respect and may God bless you.
Yes. Did you notice how SLOWLY the lid sank down? That lid is almost AIRTIGHT.

My praise to a wonderful Grandma. Passing her craft to her family. Proper safety equipment doesnt necesarily make a safe worker. Thank you for your time and effort making such a lovely vlog about a wonderful family and also inclubing their website.
Safe travels!
Bu çalışkan insanlara hayranım.Onları çok seviyorum.Ankara'dan esenlikler.😂
With so much automation and robotics in our "modern" world, it's nice to see real craftsmanship at work! Thanks to all for making this video!!! Watching from North Carolina, USA. ❤❤❤
Beautiful to watch. Amazing craftsmanship.
Beautiful from start to finish. The craftmanship is outstanding and its final presentation typifies Japanese quality and the path for perfection
Dedication + Hard work = Japan🇯🇵, lovely tea caddy. I like it so much. 🙏.
Unreal craftsmanship with only very basic tools! A pair of true artesians !
This Grandmother is deserving of her on RUclips channel and i myself would pay to watch her channel she's amazing i love her spirit and spunk and I will guarantee she don't take crap off of anyone Grandmother your awesome May God bless you for many years to come
I love your lack of spelling and punctuation.
Beautiful craftsmanship. It's all in the details. Stay safe.
Love how grandma is in charge of the table saw with the huge exposed blade 🙂 Actually she's operating all the dangerous machines 🙂
The guy knows why!😃
You took the words right out of my mouth I was about to say that lol😅
At first I thought “to be fair, that’s not the most dangerous setup or use of a table saw I’ve ever seen, could be worse” - but then I got to the bit with the Debarking Wheel of Death / Hand Grater 5000. Oh my!
@@mm9773 and gloves and long sleeves.
her eye protection is to turn her head not look at where her hands are near the giant blade of death.

Shes truly a pure artist..her skills and knowledge are something that takes years to acquire..long and healthy life to her.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Amazing work mother and son expertise I truly hope these arts continue in the future, hand made things are now rarity 👍👍👍👍👍❤️
It's wonderful and worth appreciating traditional values. I hope traditional values are preserved and promoted! Greetings from a traditional Vietnamese carpenter.
Artistry at work! Not just a piece of kitchen equipment but a piece of artistry! Beautiful work!
Eyes precisions! Wow! Great arts! Thank you all for continue making them! Bravo!
I am a Woodwork teacher but the Japanese and Chinese have always taken craftsmanship to a whole new level. I am aching to visit the forbidden city in China purely because of the building joints are not matched today.
This little operation has it all I'm so envious. Absolutely beautiful work.
Pleasure to watch. I love Japanese tools&techniques and the attention to the details
Wonderful video, enjoyed it a lot. Your craftsmanship is exceptional. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful job. Thank you for sharing your amazing skills with us.
What an amazing skill. I am full of admiration for the craftsman. The finished product is truly a thing of beauty.👏👏👏
Que delicadeza! É admirável a leveza da criatividade japonesa. Parabéns!
Thanks for a very interesting video that showed the quality of Japanese craftsmanship. The music was an excellent choice.
They're beautiful, no matter how simple or dangerously made lol. Grandma should probably use safety glasses, though, at the very least. 😅
The bark removal/planing wheel at 2:12 is probably the most amazing and dangerous thing I've ever seen, but if she's made it this long... I was just imaging the nice sliced chunks of fingers and hands that thing could make in a split second. I loved the little linen pad hung over the saw to block the saw dust and kickback when cutting logs. LOL.
It is a pleasure to see skill hands keeping your tradition alive. You are a wonderful peaple, respect for others is your philosophy of life. If I could reborn I would be reborn a Japanese
Impressed with lid fit the skill making such a product takes years to aquire .
Despite the great job, I have a lot of respect for the grandma. She is a great and brave big saw master.
I am a lover of your culture and what I see today makes me fall in love more: the discipline and the clear sense of a good and beautiful job. I love it! Thanks for sharing!
I do a bit of wood turning myself. Perfect work here. Thanks for showing
Again, Japanese craftsmen are doing the best of any piece of wood. Such a piece of firewood would finish in the chimney in any other part of the world !
Che meraviglia, guardarvi è stato bellissimo, complimenti ❤
Wow, grandma's skills are unmatched! 🙌
Lovely to watch the hardworking elderly couple ❤.
Using the same methods to make these truly unique 👌 tea caddies

Thanks.
Long life to japanese people!
That giant planer/wood-food processor bit she uses to rough size is terrifying. just wow
Magnifique travail. 🙂👍
A joy to watch craftsmen at work.

I'm imagining the smells in the workshop of the wood shavings.. beautiful.
