- What's Up Sun Raes! In this video, I am not only revisiting the original @taliahwaajid Green Apple & Aloe Hold Me Down! Gelle, but I am also trying out the clear version that was once out. I thought Taliah Waajid said she was going back to the white one. Not sure why people are only finding the clear; however, they are very similar. Thanks for tuning in.
Thank you for this review. Enjoy your content. I love the original Hold Me Down Gelle but I have a hard time finding it where I live. Have not seen the new gel. Did a wash n go using the Curl Definer and it only lasted one day - added Wetline and it flaked.
Thank you! You may have to order the original if it's not in stores near you. The clear gel is discontinued so you probably won't see it anywhere. I've heard the Wetline and the Curly Curl Cream works really good together; maybe try that for a wash and go and see how it works for you.

I didn't know either. I think that is why it didn't do so well and they discontinued it; it didn't get enough traction. Anywho, I prefer the original gelle so I'm good. Thanks for tuning in.
New subbie. I did my third big chop last year (been natural since 2011) and have been a wash n go girl eversince. Now I'm a gel junkie and have to get this gel, I'm a PJ coming out of reform lol...great video!

Never tried this gel, but I like the leave in conditioner.

I went to see which one I had I got the defining cream. I’ve heard great reviews about it as well.

What is your general opinion on cream gels? I haven't tried one yet, but I want to and I'm not sure where to start.
Not all cream gels are created equal. I would say just get one and see if you like it. The one in this video is good because it gives definition and hold, but it is not crunchy. If you like it, then you can branch out to other ones. Good luck!
Chile every time I use it (the clear one) it does this weird curdling on my hair I stopped using. I wish I got the cream formula cause I was so dissatisfied.
Really? I didn't get any curdling. Did you clarify your hair first, maybe you had some build up on your hair. Just a thought. I did only use it with its sister leave-in, though.
IM LATE TO THE PARTY.. I just got mine in the mail and I was heated that it changed. I ran like a Karen to HR to snitch online and I'm glad you did a review. I'm especially mad because it's hard to find non-crunchy gels that still give good definition. I'll see how it goes tomorrow but it's looking like I'm going to have to be heavy handed.. 🥺
LOL... you are too funny. I understand about not liking formulas to change when they are already good. If it broke, don't fix it is my motto. Hopefully you will like the new one just as much. Let me know how it goes.

I wish she hadn't changed it to the clear one.. It doesn't work with xtreme wetline which is why I had purchased it from the first start.. Hate when they change formula 🥴🙄🤦🏾♀️
She still has the original version, so if you liked that one, it is still available.

I had stocked up on the creamy version because I was staying out of the streets due to COVID. It plus Jane Carter Curls to Go leave-in were my wash and go Holy Grail. I snatched two jars not knowing the formula changed to the clear one. My hair literally had SUDS in it from this Gelle even after I washed it again and only used the Gelle. Needless to say, I'm furious. Now it's back to the drawing board unless she's gone back to the old version.
I believe she has gone back to the old version. Sorry about the clear one not working for you. I need to try the Jane Carter Leave In with the creamy version and see how I like it. Thanks for sharing that.
@@NaturalRaeRae my pleasure. The Jane Carter Curls to Go will define your curls and the creamy version of the Gelle will hold them for at least five days before you need any type of refresh. I can often go six days.
I like the side with the old formulation as it seems more defined, has more shine and hold, and it elongates. Too bad they discontinue the product.
They didn't discontinue the original formula. They discontinued the clear one, so if you want to try the gelle, the old formula is still available. Thanks for watching.
