Key witness in Karen Read murder trial breaks down on stand during Day 12 of testimony

- Wednesday marked a pivotal moment in the ongoing Karen Read murder trial. A witness testified that she and her family have been targeted and harassed by supporters of Read.
It was the first time tears have been shed in the ongoing trial
Read, 44, of Mansfield, is facing charges including second-degree murder in the death of O’Keefe, who was her boyfriend at the time. She has pleaded not guilty.
Colin Albert, a key witness Read’s defense team said had a motive to attack O’Keefe, took the stand Wednesday afternoon. He was a teenager when O’Keefe was killed in January 2022.
The prosecution says Colin Albert has absolutely no involvement and had already left 34 Fairview Road in Canton before O’Keefe arrived. The defense disputes that claim.
“I’m going home my mom wants me home bye,” Colin Albert said on the stand.
On Day 12 of witness testimony Colin Albert, a college student, describes leaving a birthday party at his cousin’s house at 34 Fairview Road.
“At 12:10 Alli wrote ‘here’ and at 12:10 I wrote kk,” said Colin Albert.
Prosecutor Adam Lally displayed text messages between Colin Albert and his relative Alli McCabe showing the pickup occurred at 12:10 a.m. before O’Keefe arrived in Read’s SUV.
“Colin was drinking and needed a ride,” said Allison McCabe, the daughter of Matthew and Jennifer McCabe also took the stand.
Defense attorney David Yannetti suggests the timestamps on the text have been changed.
“It’s so easy to doctor the times of the texts messages,” said Yannetti.
The defense has accused Colin Albert and others of attacking O’Keefe inside the home at 34 Fairview.
Alli McCabe broke down defending Colin and her family.
“Just like a lot of harassment,” said Alli McCabe on the stand.
The defense has also suggested that O’Keefe was attacked by a dog that lived in the home at 34 Fairview. But a veterinary scientist at UC Davis testified she found no evidence of that from swabs of his clothing.
“There was absolutely no K9 DNA,” Teri Kun told the jury.
Ryan Nagel, Julie’s brother, his girlfriend, Heather Maxon, and his best friend Ricky D’Antuono, all testified after Kun.
Heather Maxon was one of three people who said she saw Read’s SUV pull up and sit with the engine running and brake lights on.
The defense says they will wait until Thursday to cross Colin Albert.

The not broken taillight in the video tells it all.
yep! The police and DA should be prosecuted for perjury and subporning perjury. THAT DA KNOWS her tail light was not missing hours after she dropped him off. HE HAS THAT EVIDENCE consistent with 3 phd fbi experts who said that car did NOT cause those injuries.
The message is photoshopped, she lied, and admitted John was at the house and she was aware what time.
the people in the house got into a fight and siced their dog on him. i think they accidently killed him ,then everyone is covering it up. PS/ anyone who say's they are not dog bites need's fired. how did a CAR bite his arm ???

Yea the reason they are trying to push harassment into the trial is because some blogger said he had communications with Kr directly and is now charged with several harassment felonies and best believe they will at some point try to blame her for any harassment they have so called. AND they did not offer any evidence whatsoever of any harassment. ANYONE saying stuff to them is also 3rd party conversations. They offered not one email as evidence. HOW WOULD ANYONE have their email address? The defense should have demanded evidence if they are going to be allowed to enter in such.

Where was the swabs taken from? Who took the swabs ? If the prosecution thought it was a car that killed him why have clothes swabbed and tested?
right they are not allowed to test the shirt, there is no picture of the shirt either they can take to experts that I know of, and they wont allow the dog to be located to test for dna on tissue, they wont allow any mention of the multiple people investigators found saying they were attacked by that dog. THE FOOTPRINTS in the snow by her tail light in JO driveway at 630 am ish seen clearly and going down driveway they are hiding who made the footprints so they can ignore the video also showing clearly the tail light was not missing hours after she dropped him off.
Cover up assisted by the forensics "experts" who are employed by the prosecutor and not impartial and the evidence being destroyed or edited by the police
dog removed out of state , then put down. basement floor tore up and redone , then house sold. police all over property and NO ONE( even the cop who lives there) comes out to see what's happening??? the list is even longer.
