As a proud owner of 2 Dreamcast models for over 10 years, I cannot believe I've never heard of Silver! Gotta find it now! And that's why I love this Channel. Btw, E.G.G. is still one of my favorites.
Joseph Jenkins racy! I just played it an hour ago and LOVE IT! I adjust the controls to “D1” with forward/backward/strafe left/right mapped to the buttons on the right instead of the awful default, which has you move with the “+” digital while simultaneously using the analogue stick to look around (virtually impossible to use your left thumb to do both), Right trigger to shoot, Left to jump, D-Pad up to change weapons, down to change view (first person or behind character), and analogue to look and turn). It can take some getting used to, but you’ll be glad you did! *This control scheme also works GREAT for Quake 3 and Unreal Tournament* Gameplay: levels are tight, designed for arcades, smaller than in some other games, but perfectly designed, amping up the rush. Rock solid 60fps, typical but awesome weapons, and in contrast to most FPS games, it’s bright not gloomy and the colors really pop! You can use a DC mouse/keyboard, but I’d rather eat my own teeth. Graphics are excellent, as it’s a true SEGA-made game that was directly ported from the arcade. They could network several arcade machines together, AND you could play it on your DC at home directly against arcade players in real-time! It automatically matches speed to an even rate to keep it fair, and it does also work with the DC broadband adapter (if you know where I can find one, please reply, as the Dreamcast is still very alive online via fan-servers). Fast, Furious, Frenzied, Outtrigger is *still* ahead of its time!
It's thrilling to see Record of Lodoss War make it on this list. I love that game! Thanks for making this list. It's given me some to keep an eye on to expand my collection.
Love Silver proper hidden gem, played it on the PC and the DC port holds up well. Great real time battles, swords, magic and a great story. Also has really nice pre-rendered backgrounds.
Gamewiz W That’s sad, but I could only afford the bootleg, and that crashed before the end of the final stage. Still an awesome game though. I really like the sword duels. Not sure if there are any other first person Gundam games out there. Berserk was also pretty good.
Almost all of DC games excepts from sega themselves are hidden gems... Worth playing for new experience they offered, and ofc their playstation port games also quite good
This is a nice list. I had completely forgotten about Gundam Side Story... going to have to try and track a US copy of that one down to import. Nice to see so many system exclusives included too.
The Dreamcast had so many great games out of it's limited run. If they had built it with a DVD drive instead of CD, it would have opened up the system for some truly epic games.
Thanks for watching Dandys =) Definitely worth picking one up, so many great ga es released on the system. It’s just a shame it was Sega’s last ever console!
Dandys11 I have one with 4 controllers a memeory card for 2 of them and sonic adventure 1&2 house of the dead 3 or 2 E.G.G. and skies of Arcadia all perfect condition with a madcatz extr controller. And aa light gun
Makes me kind of wish that Sega could get back into the console market. Or even that the dreamcast had a longer lifespan. I would want to see what sega could do with their own hardware when they knew what they were doing.
Oh yeah! Maken-X! I'd say my favorite hidden gem on Dreamcast is the shmup, Mars Matrix. People tend to side with Ikaruga or maybe Rez, but Capcom's Mars Matrix has a great gameplay look with currency and unlockables that makes it the best shoot-em-up on the console to me.
Everyone MUST play ILLBLEED. That game...Is so wonderfully bizarre and I will never play another game like it. It takes after horror movies, each of the 6 levels parodying one film or a trope. And level 6 is something you need to play for yourself, it's absolute gold.
Oh yes definitely Maken X is amazing, I loved this game still do, sadly I don't own a copy of it unfortunately, I hear it's getting a bit pricey to buy and a bit harder to find these days.
@arbereshe yeah that's the best part. XD I watched a LP of illbleed a couple of years ago and that's the first time I heard of it, let alone gameplay and man does it rock in a so bad it's good kinda way. XD
I would add Sword of the Berserk: Guts' Rage i touched a dreamcast one time in my whole life it's not very common in my country late i played berserk on an emulator and loved it i wish i could try it on the original hardware using the original controller
The sword swing is way too wide in that game compared to the narrow level design. You end up hitting the wall instead of enemies, which gets annoying fast. If not for that it would be a pretty good game.
@@ll1844 That's actually one of the defining of the game and the manga, making the use a gigantic sword more realistic instead of turning into a clipping festival as happens in most games that feature giant swords.
Frame Gride, a game with mechs in a fantasy world made by From Software. Langrisser Millennium, one of the DC games that deserves a translation patch the most. Blue Stinger, is very good, most the criticism it had was due to the use of a third person camera instead of fixed angles as other survival horrors but it makes the game better than the original version.
Nice selection! A few of my faves are on it. BUT.... you left out the number ONE hidden gem for the Deamcast!! EVIL TWIN- Cyprien's Chronicles! Also, OMIKRON- The Nomad Soul.
Super Runabout and Gundam Side Story looking cool. I'd add Propeller Arena and Half Life to that list, both finished but unreleased worth checking out.
I had almost every game on the dream cast including the Japanese ones (thanks to the fact the games could be pirated and my local video shop owner was a full blown pirate)my favourites were shenmue 2, power stone 2, omicron (starring David Bowie ) soup calibre , commandos 2 , jet set radio , and a Japanese truck driving game I never knew the name of I used to get my games for between £8-£20
My favorite game of them all no if ever anyone don't talk about it enough I love that game as a kid I still do as an adult 200?!!!!!! I had no idea I thought it's release was 1997- 1996

I can’t believe it either. How did you manage that? Even 25 years ago when I bought my Dreamcast and didn’t know that much about VG, I got Silver. 😁
Good choices, but Outrigger deserves an honorable mention.
Great suggestion! Outrigger was a great game.

Maken X looks like a game that should've gotten a second chance on the Wii.
Totally agree, it would have been perfect for that console.
It was however released on PS2 except they dropped the first person view for a third person. It's called maken shao
Maken X is amazing. I still play that game on my Dreamcast. And it runs at 60 fps no drops. Its incredible
Very underrated game in my opinion. Very cool concept.

One of the best RPGs on the system. Shame it didn’t get the attention it deserved!
I'm so happy Gundam Side Story is on here. When I was a kid, it got so many rentals. Being a broke kid sucked.
Haha it’s such a good game. I can understand why you rented it so much!
I was never able to acquire it :-(.

Honorable mention goes to D2
Great suggestion, we covered that in a previous episode.
You're truly the king at finding hidden gems. Never heard of any of these games and will definitely be adding a couple to the collection!
The Dreamcast had so many great games out of it's limited run. If they had built it with a DVD drive instead of CD, it would have opened up the system for some truly epic games.
Great list. I have a few of these in my small collection. First time hearing about Super Roundabout and it looks awesome
Perfect timing. I just got a Dreamcast.
Cool
How much did you pay for it??
Just 70. An extra 5 for a memory card and since I usually target repros, I spend 15-20 for each game I get.
I thought i knew every game on the Dreamcast butmost of these were new to me! Thanks!
Interesting picks dude! Record of Lodoss War is fantastic! Never heard of Napple Tale, looks great! :)
Nice! Glad I could suggest something you haven’t heard of man 😅🙂
The biggest flaw with any of these games is that you have to play them with a dreamcast controller!!
Skill issue.
Proud owner of all these games....except Napple Tale.
Cool video
Thanks for watching!
Insane A Sock I bought that one when I was a Dreamcast collector because the OST is amazing. That being said sold it way under value...alas

That's true hidden gems. Great Video
I have a still sealed copy of Illbleed I bought many years ago from the USA for about £10. It was a shock to see how much it's fetching now.
Nice choices! Agreed with everything (except EGG. That game is no longer a hidden gem plus a bit overrated.)
It's definitely a hidden gem to UK gamers as it never saw a release in PAL territories. I really rate it personally, a solid 7-8/10 :)
Awesome list, alot of mine own were on this. Another one is Time Stalkers. A unique and magical experience.
