They came to Birmingham, AL. for the Lost in Space tour I think they called it. Before the gig Gene & I were looking for the men's room, Then I got to chat with Derri & Marlei & held the newborn baby girl at the time (I think named Chance?)I spoke to Terry but I was so overwhelmed to see him at the time I just sang "Sleep William Blake" & walked off feeling like a big dork. I never spoke to Mike. I also remember the set was decorated & Terry pointed out the beautiful 'space flowers'. It was a great performance!!! My buddies & I started shouting, "Whoa Nelly!" To which Terry replied, "Whoa nelly, yeah well that's a whole other experience now isn't it? His performance of Eleanor it's Raining Now was hauntingly spectacular!
I also remember they had old road gear from Vector. By then not too many would have remembered that band.
GENE!!!
Great to see Gene, such a unique voice. This is back when Terry was writing 98.6% of the Lost Dog catalog.
Gene was like an unknown Paul Simon. Listen to Adam Again "River on Fire", some deep and brilliant stuff.
Thanks for putting this up.
Thanks so much for the upload! I love these guys and could listen to this all day!
i was listening and heard Gene ad said oh my ! Thanks
This is the second upload for this video. The first one had several places where the video went to black.
i once shared a 77's tape with you from the Fire Escape. i envy you got to see them with Gene.
Hooray!
I never even heard of these guys who are they
I was always kind of surprised that Mike Roe didn't get decked more. How did Derri take the constant razzing?
Maybe he’s just self-assured, more secure.
Look at Led Zeppelin. Robert Plant, conceited as he was prone to be, gave John Paul Jones a lot of jabbing (such as being in Hermit’s Hermits). But there was levelheaded Jonesy, just doing what he did in the background. All these years later, I find out just how instrumental JPJ was to LZ’s songs. I’ve read he was (arguably) the most accomplished musician of them all. I never would have guessed that. It was always Page & Plant, followed by Bonham, then Jones, who got the spotlight.
RUclips him on David Letterman’s show from years ago and watch him play that mandolin.
@@ebnphlo what does this have to do with him talking shit about people? There's another video where he refers to him as "Derri the Fairy."
@@mlwsf Good friends talk like that about each other all the time.
@@christianhagen183 Who is calling each other fAg outside of grade school and in front of an audience? And I have also heard him say it when Deri wasn't even there about a guitar he borrowed.
@@mlwsf He calls him Derry the Fairy as a joke. It rhymes and Derry has the most girlish voice of the group (though his voice is amazing). It clearly isn't meant to be an insult.
