I discovered Daniel Amos back in 1978 in, of all places, Quito-Ecuador, where I was living at the time. My family met an American family that were missionaries there. Before then, I didn't know there was such a thing as CCM (contemporary christian music). Through that family I was introduced to Phil Keaggy, Randy Stonehill, Keith Green and of course, Daniel Amos. Shotgun Angel is my favorite from DA. Second is Horrendous Disc, which I happen to have on vinyl. Shotgun Angel on vinyl is a holy grail for me. I'm on the hunt for an ultra clean copy.
I owned most of Terry Taylor's output on cassette or CD but i don't anymore. Idk what happened to them. His music has always had a special place in my heart, no matter what band he was fronting. An extraordinary musician and songwriter. He should be highly regarded in the same manner as Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson. Outstanding singers/songwriters, however because Terry is a christian, he won't be regarded as such. And that's a shame. This is real Christian music, not the noise you hear nowadays.

I first learned about DA one hot summer at the annual Creation Festival and my friend Ed Reiter bought their cassette "Motorcycle" and he didn't care for it and I absolutely loved it from the first play, I don't need to tell any of you but their music connects with my soul and makes my heart feel soothed in Christ and the journey we're all on........ " And to are dear dead dears if there's anything to know you must know it".............

Been a Daniel Amos fan since Shotgun Angel. These guys were so much fun. I couldn't wait to see them live. They showed us that Christian music, could be really creative, cool, deeply meaningful and so much fun! The gig at Wolfgang's in SF is legendary! Please do a reunion tour guys, we need what you guys do so well!

Sadly there’s pretty much no DA left without Tim.

    Part one of the journey
My awareness of Terry Scott Taylor began around '85-'86, but I had seen the display posters for Daniel Amos' Vox Humana in '83. I was only 10 years old (so I had no idea that was Terry) but I could never forget that big bright yellow and four guys with their "hair pointing to the sky". It wasn't until the release of The Swirling Eddies "Let's Spin" That I began to hear the brilliance. I never could have 'guessed the eddies', but that provided me with a clue which helped me to piece things together over the next couple of years. A friend gave me a rough copy of Vox Humana and Doppelganger and by the time Outdoor Elvis & Dr. Edward Daniel Taylor came out, you would have thought I was born listening to DA.
More to come in Part Two

One of my favorite bands while in high school. I was so mad at Larry Norman. I waited forever for Horrendous disc.
Then i saw this band with Randall Waller. It was a great concert. Just the greatest guitarworks and the songs were so cool.
I wanted to hear Shotgun Angel for the past few years. That would be a great tour. Do the whole album live. Dream#38

Been a fan of Terry and every incarnation of band he has been in... for 41 years. He is still cranking out the sausage from the sausage machine and it's still awesome music!

These musicians are gifted and very talented and really know how to play and arrange music well. By far the most outstanding song is the last one starting at 1:45:30. So-o-o...special....... "...they will return to Me..."

When KLYT sponsored bands at Christian Center in Albuquerque, we stripped the platform of everything, including choir risers. No crowding the performers or making for weird backgrounds.

What about I Love You #19 from Horrendous Disc? I too wish there were more songs from the old days but the majority of their “newer” fans are likely into the alternative side of DA which is a substantial amount of their career 1981-2001 (Dig Here Said The Angel came in 2013). Throw in the Swirling Eddies and Lost Dogs eras and you have a bunch of other songs. So it’s probably as best a representation of their 40 years of music up to that point.
