Too much line for sure... the line was bringing between the spool and the housing of the reel... I’ve caught 20 plus 30lb catfish with mine and clicker is louder than my shimanos and entire reel is flawless.
Seems to me you're just not familiar with your tackle, being that you didnt even know not to set a circle hook... I'd say your problems are all user error.
Cassidy Zacharyasz yeah, why would you even be fishing with circle hooks if you don’t know how to use them same with this reel he had way to much line on it
That dude needs to stick with spinning reels until he learn how to operate a conventional reel. Someone show this guy. Yes it is a user error but someone teach him
Uhh, if it was really a 10lb fish you hooked no way would that break the drag on a Penn Squall series reel. I saw a video on a Penn Rival 20lw pulling in rays in California and that's supposed to be older tech than the Squalls.
Jesus. You said the clicker melted? I find that hard to believe. You got a lot to learn buddy. Just keep on fishing and don’t let the comments bring you down. But maybe next time evaluate the situation before speaking out publicly in a field your still quite green in. With that being said, live and learn! Aloha 🤙🏼
way too much line on spool. get use to putting the right amount of line on your reel. have eight of these same reels only in the 20 series size. run 50 lb big game. caught 100 lb flathead and a 65 lb flathead on the missouri river. by anchoring.
Perfect example of: Just because you have the gear, it doesn’t mean you know how to fish 💀💀. You failed yourself before your setup could fail you. Sorry. Not sorry 🤷🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️
Turn the F'n "clicker" bait alarm off when you hook the fish and that shit won't happen... It was probably also the reason the drag wasn't working... As far as the line breaking, the rod would have been in the drink long before that line would have broke if there wasn't a bad spot in it. I'd lay some big $$ on it all user error and not the reels fault.
All user error..the equipment did not fail you but you failed yourself because I catch King Mackerel and Cobia on these reels with 30 LB test braid and use 80 to 100 LB flurocarbon or wire leader.
That whole situation look too damn dangerous to even consider there are sharks bigger than what your sitting in get off that thing and save your life dude .
Hi Inflatable Fishing! A video worth sharing! Gomexus has recently upgraded the new handle for PENN conventional and wonders if you would like to help us test it? If you are interested, looking forward to your reply!😘
Ughhhh! to much line, no experience and I do have to question what your drag ws really set at!

Obviously you have too much line in your spool and clearly I can't even see the corner of the spool you do have at least 200 yards of braid to remove.
i think he has the right amount of line he just doesn’t have it tight enough and the line caught up in itself
@@nashbarber4085 no man definitely too much line and user error
Don't use reel as winch . Pump rod and retrieve on downstroke. All sorts of problems occur from from winching and not using rod.
Dont use braid on casting reels. It will embed in the reel and break. I went to straight mono for that reason.
And this kids is what happens when people don't know how to fish
Could have been a reel malfunction, but more than likely way too much line on the spool. I’ve made that mistake myself.
Too much line on reel?
yah looks too full

Hey 👋 I have a question 🙋♂️ when you’re looking for opelu do you just wander around at a certain depth or do you know where to go before hand? Thx 👍🏼

If you spend more money, you will be a better fisherman😂

Looks like a user error to me
Dont blame PENN , Turn The Clicker OFF
All user error..the equipment did not fail you but you failed yourself because I catch King Mackerel and Cobia on these reels with 30 LB test braid and use 80 to 100 LB flurocarbon or wire leader.
40 lb test to just break. Drag locked or not
Reel didn't fail. Just a rookie not knowing how to fish. Plus cheap braided line.
operator error
Too much line. Look like…
Too much line on the reel and the lever drag ones are better than the levelwind
Not everyone can afford level drag
@@Saif_yt56 the squall 60LD costs $170 AU which is about $120 US
@@Saif_yt56 , I picked up a TLD25 lever drag with rod for $80 at a pawn shop. "Too expensive" is not an excuse here.
