I think Jekyll is not underrated especially among EXO-Ls. Most of EXO-Ls choose Jekyll as their best song from Obsession album. For me, Nonstop is the underrated one because I find it so rare to see people liking Nonstop. Personally, my favourite songs from this album are Trouble, Nonstop, Groove and Ya Ya Ya. If I need to add one song as Top 5 top tier song in this album, then yes I will add Jekyll as well.

Obsession is literally one of their best album, the concept and the quality of each songs just chef kissed. If only there aren't much sabotage when it's out it might be a million selling album too. *Btwyouknowwhosabotagedthem

I began the KPop journey last year, listened to quite a bit of groups, all great in their own right btw, but EXO was it for me… they have the absolute best discography. Point. Blank. Periodt.

Chanyeol and Kai did surprise me in this album. Kai has more lines and Chanyeol has more singing parts.
"Jekyll" is my favourite, but I also love "Obsession", "Trouble" and "Groove".
In terms of music genre, this album is different compares to other EXO albums.
Yes kai's voice is really unique sometimes it's sultry but sometimes it also sounds so innocent... There's something in his voice that is so captivating ❤

Kai’s voice has always stood out to me in EXO, like you said, even among some of the best vocalists I’ve ever heard. His tone is so unique and yet fits so well with the others. I’ve seen his voice get mistaken as Suho, Baekhyun, and even Kyungsoo in lyric videos over the years and I think it was because people really underestimated what he can do with his tone and range. It’s so nice to see people recognize his vocals 💕

The album is a bop for sure - I recommend the Exodus album (personal favorite for any music album) or The War album: I feel like these two albums just HIT IT. You just...can't skip and even the track order is perfection. Keep doing you xoxo

Ahhhhhh exo has THE BEST b-sides in the industry….every album is a no skip. So glad that you’re getting more into their discography. My fave off of this album is Jekyll, I love how dark it is and the chant-like chorus is *chef’s kiss*…blasting it on a late night drive through town😩

Kai's voice is just to smooth
Exactly! Jekyll is basically based on "Jekyll & Mr Hyde" so that's why in the chorus you've got the more "agressive" parts (Jekyll singing a.k.a x-exo) and the softer parts (Mr Hyde a.k.a exo). The song also implies that exo and x-exo are basically two parts of the same person hence the "I'm in control", "I'm already in you" or " Your voice that cries out in my head" lyrics. It's so cool how they made this song because you can pin point the moments exo transforms into x-exo and how they warn us that they are coming
It's actually reversed. Dr. Jekyll is the more timid, kind man, and Mr. Hyde is the dark, evil man that comes out after he drank his own test drug. Hyde is the dark alter ego that only comes out at night when Dr. Jekyll relinquished control of himself, or something like that.

Oh YES the Obsession album-YESSS I was quite literally obsessed with this one when it came out and had it on loop, and quite frankly-not much has changed. Can’t believe it was released in 2019, yet I’m still not tired of any of the songs.
Also Grove? And Kai’s part on that second verse???

They all ran that, but I’m telling u-that song was perfect for Kai and Suho’s vocal colors.
(And FYI: Ya Ya Ya is basically the black EXO-L national anthem now lol. They really had the balls to take on a sample from a 90’s r&b girl group like SWV that was meant for Ceradi, and said: “yeah, I think we got enough soul for this”, and delivered?! EXO finna be invited to the BBQ if they don’t chill lol)
D.O. already had an invite and the rest of the boys were like "let us slide on in here too...."
The only thing missing in this masterpiece of an album is that there's no Kyungsoo (for me personally). Just imagine how good he'd be in YaYaYa.

When I first heard this album it wasn’t my favorite and then I noticed that the first song Obsession ends with them saying ‘disappear’ and ‘go away’ with them breaking their necks and ending with butterfly effect saying “saving my life” and we are angels and finally “dont leave”. After that I realized how amazing this album is, so unique. It’s really a masterpiece album.
I love how the Jekyll chorus sounds like it’s a conversation between their EXO and X-EXO sides!
idk why im crying cause my group is 9 years old and people still reacting to them and stanning them like they just debuted!!! I mean the hype for exo is still there and its crazyy!!!! People still fall for them..Since 9 years no one came like kai who can dance better than him, Baekhyun, chen, kyungsoo remains the top 3 vocalist in kpop! Chanyeol - multitalentedddddd is still one of the best rappers..xiumin still looks like the youngest in the grp and hopefully gonna debut with his solo album, sehun multi talented king..the way he supports his hyungs😭✋and i couldn't find and i don't think i'll ever find better leader than suho🤧 and don't let me start with lay- He is on another level.

Obsession is just them flexing their individual vocal colors while creating wonderful harmonies plus the production of each songs are just topnotch. 🤧
Chanyeol’s voice shines through this entire album. The extra level of spice that his husky vocals give to songs, IMMACULATE! And you can hear his harmonies so clearly in the background! Also, the way he switches so easily between tapping and singing, a rare talent!

Ohhhh I like this translation video. They even put in who does the adlibs. Love this album because Channie, Kai and Sehun had the opportunity to show more vocals Ya Ya Ya is just perfection and nostalgia. Love It! Your reaction to it was all of our reactions!! LOL
Watching people react to Ya Ya Ya has been one of my most favorite things since this album dropped. Nobody is ready lol. EXO really came through with the SWV sample and slayed it so effortlessly. I can only imagine how much more incredible it would have been If Kyungsoo wasn't in the middle of his military service at the time.
OBSESSION is my top 3 of EXO albums to be honest even tho there's no D.O. which is my ultimate bias, in this era. The flavor of each song is just chef's kiss.
