So far my favorite book of the year has been The Bee Sting by Paul Murray. Not only that but it's now my all-time favorite book 💖🍋
🍋My favorite book of the year is a 3-way tie between Dragonfruit by Makiia Lucier, The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley, and Beach Read by Emily Henry (I forgot I hadn't read it yet, lol).
The Will of the Many is going to be hard to top for me this year! I don't get the hate either for Immortal Longings. The Fairyloot edition is stunning and I was able to get it for cheap because of the mixed reviews. I've already preordered the Waterstones cover for the second book (even though I like the US covers, too!) oh - I'm currently reading Maeve Fly. I'm only half way but I'm pretty sure that it's a weird girl book that you may like! (I think - it's a bit gross sometimes but a fascinating kind of macabre. One of those books that you wouldn't recommend to everybody but can be fascinating to the right person)
Thank you Sydney for loving The Starless Sea! One of my favs, and I will be doing a re-read this year too! I think you really need to go into this writing to get the most - but it makes me so happy and ugly cry too❤️❤️
I think the writing vlogs will get more love than what you think 😊 love how you couldn't choose between books for this. My favourite has been either Gideon The Ninth or You Let Me In 🍋

I read 'Everyone in my family has killed someone' after your review and really enjoyed it. I also had the same views on The Year of Magical Overthinking, I expected so much more and couldn't tell you a single thing about it
My luke-warm review of The Year of Magical Overthinking is still getting feedback months later, so you're not the only one! What a let-down. I don't know that I would have disliked it had the marketing just been... more accurate, I guess? 🍋🍋 I was completely obsessed with Beartown when they came out! Such incredible writing. I was a mess by the end of it and it's so rare that I cry irl when reading. Can't wait to pick some of these up!

ooh I highly recommend checking out Emily Austin’s (debut?) Everyone in This Room Will Someday be Dead! It’s similar to Interesting Facts About Space, but better IMO. I was thoroughly charmed by it.

I have such high hopes for ”The will of the many”, but I find myself not liking ACOTAR. I did, and still do, enjoy Harry Potter as a teenager. I also tend to like dark academia. To anyone who redas this I wonder: should I give ”The will of the many” a chance. I have only heard good things, but the same went with ACOTAR, haha. Have a lovely day and a great reading year!

🍋- also one of my fav books I read this year is The Seven Year Slip, which matches the🍋
If you have a story you want to write. Just one page a day until the end of the year will give you an entire book. It's just something to think about.

I loved The Family Game! I actually figured it out before the end. Findlay Donovan…tried the first one three times. Just not for me…and I really thought I would like it.
I'm listning to Red, White and Royal blue and I'm giggling. Its so darn cheesy! I'm quite obsessed. I hated husbands (myob? I guess) but i tried to listen to it, but it just felt so shallow. Sorry if you like it. Favorite BOOK? Just one?! oh dear, i think it's going to be the Lakefront Billionares books, they're just so cheesy, Ik they're not for everyone, but im obsessed, and it's the only one I go out of my way to get in store now.
It can be so hard to pick a best book when you read across genres.
You should try the Suneater series by Christopher Ruoccio. It’s a great mix between Sci-fi and fantasy. The Suneater series is perfect if you are not a big sci-fi fan but still want to give it a try.
