- Eddie Van Halen turned the guitar world upside down with this amazing guitar solo. When the instrumental Eruption was released in 1978, people were introduced to the virtuosity and the burning intensity of this modern day genius, famous for introducing tapping and dive bombing to the masses. More than thirty years later, the influence of Van Halen on hard rock, metal and popular culture as a whole remains unequalled.

Doug Steel brought me here ! Thank you so much .
You realize that this is almost completely wrong?!
i would really enjoy more videos like this, people underestimate the importance of such scrooling videos
Can't beat a good scrool
At the end at 1:29 I would expect the rest of the band to add in an extra chord on top of that chord overlaying it. Especially that of as heard in the beginning but this time the E chord, instead of the A chord.
The first time I’ve seen a tab or cover do the tapping exactly how it was in the studio version. Where he apparently messed that section up a little bit.
What do you mean?
@@WhitePikminPro the song, Eruption, at 1:08-1:09 (for this tab above, it’s 1:12-1:13), he plays that specific ascending arpeggio 3 times instead of 4 times
Oooooohhhhh!! I hate tab but I liked what I heard.
This is still wrong all over the place!
I noticed two notes are missing 😉
Let's see AI create that. Eddie Van Halen is at GOAT level and AI is learning to tie its shoes.
WOW. Do you have these tabs posted anywhere so we can print them?
If not the transcription could be written out from RUclips if you keep pausing it
Oh nowwwww I get it
😂
I just like to imagine Beethoven. Reading this sheet music and being absolutely like. "What the fuck is happening!?!"
It’s amazing to hear, but musically, it’s extremely unstructured and chaotic. It looks super weird in musical form. Like just a bunch of sextuplets all over the place, with no real meter or anything. Like EVH threw a bunch of notes on a page anywhere. Brilliant in a way.
But I personally prefer logical, organized, structured music like Randy Rhoads or Malmsteen.
The high F natural at 1:09 is wrong Should be an E like the next one.... No biggie Thanks for the Great Work
So that's the mistake Eddie himself must've claimed on Wikipedia, eh? There is a description of this song on wikipedia with Eddie mentioning this... right?
@@archdukebigdogkoopa3821 Hell if I know about that, I just play the thing. You should have linked it if you expected us to know about it. Nonetheless it's a mistake that was pointed out for those of us who don't live on Wiki.
Do you think that the guy who invented sheet music thought about this?

I wonder if any guitarist seeing this sheet music before 1976 would understand what needed to be done technically in order for this to sound epic.
great job! is that a sampler? :O
Sounds like Artificial Intelligence version.
Weeepa!!!
Needed a computer to figure it out. 👎🏻
This is the most accurate tabs i have ever seen
Edie Van Hallen can''t read this
😮
yeahhhhhhh , perfect transcription
Not many get Eddie's tone just right , but this is exactly the same tone.
Uhm no. For one, this is not even in the same tuning.
アドリブでこれ弾くとか天才やん
