Editing is one of the most critical and essential pieces of creating an amazing story. Everything from typos and poor grammar to plot holes and bad dialogue can cause a reader to stop reading what would otherwise have been a great story for them. So after the hundreds of hours, blood, sweat, tears, and all the energy that goes into writing a story, ironing out all of those wrinkles so that your book can really flourish is such an important step.
And because it's so important, I would also argue that editing is one of the only steps of the writing process that you really can't expect to do by yourself. But since good editing requires working with a good editor and finding one and hiring one and all of the other dynamics that go into that process, there are a lot of questions and unknowns and potential pitfalls that surround the whole process of having your book edited.
So for today's video, I invited professional editor and book coach Nicole Whisler to come join me for this author talk, where we dive into all of the details surrounding editing in all its forms and provide a lot of tips and great information about how you can approach the process of finding and working with an editor to get the most out of it for yourself as you work to make your book as amazing as it deserves to be.
