My condolences to Miah and family ♡ my mom wanted DNR because of her faith she craved to be home with our heavenly father. I'm 60 and can understand that more. My motto has always been ' One Day at a Time ' not morbid just truth. But until ...live life

As a woman who home/free births her babies, I am really in awe of the amount of respect you showed and spoke of in regards to your animals. What a blessing you are to them! 💗 I have a feeling they can tell you're in tune with their primal process. 🙏🏼 Thank you for sharing that with us. I can't wait to witness a birth of an animal for the first time!

I grew up in a town that had a lot of farms and deep down I always wanted to be a farmer. But it didn’t seem like something that wasn’t remotely possible so I never thought to dare to dream. Homesteading wasn’t a thing when I was growing up. Or if it was, it wasn’t on my radar or anyone I knew’s radar. Thanks to this channel, a notorious plant killer is now a gardener. A productive gardener who cooks from scratch now, who’s looking at getting chickens and dreaming of having a dairy cow one day. So I thank you for sharing your journey and showing what’s possible. You’ve helped change my life and I’m grateful.💚

My Dad was a Navy man and neat was his middle name. A place for everything and everything in its place. His chest of drawers was immaculate with everything in order. My nickname from my Dad was Sloppy Mag .. my name is Nancy.
My boys and I, when they were quite little, would take rides through the country roads near our home and there were quite a few cows 🐄 on farms, hence the occasional cow giving another cow a piggyback ride .. as was described by my once upon a time little boys. I truly enjoy all of your videos, thank you ~ Nancy 🤩💕😊

The greenhouse, stone walkways, magnificent water fountain & garden are so pleasing & balanced without looking overdone.
The plantings enhance the bigger picture - taking in the greenhouse with the pasture all around & behind it. And all you've built sits gently & as if embraced by its surroundings. That in itself is very artful. A skill.
Your very ideas & dreams are being realized & we'll all get to see it mature & change.
It already feels naturally tied in together. It's looking gracefully abundant & loved. ❤
When I looked at the wider scene of the gently rolling pasture all around, for a moment I pictured being there looking up at the night sky, while sitting on one of the bemches. Seeing what must be a huge expanse of sky, you must see the sun rise & the sun set from anywhere on your farm - yes you've created a functioning, beautiful farm.
That little horse is so sweet looking & the cattle look interesting. There's even a perfect size pond where you can fish, & where the baby willow you planted by the edge will spend its life & grow old gracefully.
Whem I saw those perfect benches, they look to be a good size.
Seeing them around the fountain with the great shot you framed the wonderful stonework area, shown as you approached, and in the foreground like that, even though on the screen of my phone,I was pleasantly surprised that the walkway is so much more spacious than it had appeared to be in the beginning, on my Mac.
The whole thing id really coming together nicely & I just remembered that you'll be building a house too! Can't wait to see Miah's ideas for the house he's been dreaming of.

I was in tears hearing about Poppy, as a Newfoundlander and a girl child who was close to both of mine, I understand how important the role of grandparents are!
Bless Miah for being there for NANNA and his father’s family! And Bless Jess for supporting him and their family, as I know they have been through some rough times on both sides! I truly appreciate how they support one another, and are truly best friends…exactly what we need through all the seasons of life. It’s how all relationships should be! A great example for all, but especially their 6 children!🥰
LOVE comes with knowing there will be loss one day…but…there are so many memories, relationships, and love we will cherish for a lifetime…I would never want to miss out on either of those!!🌼
Have an awesome weekend! Blessings to all!🇨🇦😎🇨🇦

Greenstalk company is the BEST! As you said, the product is amazing but everything they use and do is the highest quality. The shipping boxes are amazingly sturdy & the personal touches like the tied ribbons on the boxes the frost/bug covers come in, the thank you notes, 'packed by' card and free seeds! I love their company!

My heartfelt condolences to Miah & your family for the loss you are experiencing. I will keep you in my prayers. Thank you for sharing he & Nana with us during covid.
True story, my daughter was in a medical office with my mom. The Marine Corp Hymn rings on an old man’s cell phone. Before he could get his phone answered, my mama had jumped up, hand on heart. My daughter is wide eyed, “gramma are you ok?” The old man finally answered the phone, the music stops & she sits down. “Your grandpa would be so disappointed if I didn’t stand”. I told my daughter it was true, when we watched the Rose Parade on TV New Year’s Day, once the Marine’s came marching into view, up we went & we had better be quick about it. He went from a USMC family to a fire department family. He loved to serve. That’s like Miah. Thank you for that service.

My deepest condolences to you and yours, and to Miah and his family at the passing of his beloved Poppy. Generational ties are so important. Glad your children have and had the benefit of time with their grand and great grand parents. So often elders are relegated to "senior" living as tho warehoused due to the misguided delusion that they no longer have usefulness to current generations. Bless you both for integrating them all into your lives. So enjoy your videos. Being a senior myself now I treasure moments with my grandson whom I helped raise, especially since his Dad, my only child, died this past October 2021 at only 49. We miss him daily. The time and effort spent is doubly returned when he chooses to spend time with me. Yesterday I went with him to Walmart where, instead of a quick in and out for what he needed, we did some sight seeing and he shared his ideas for his room, his likes and his future hopes and asked my input and suggestions. We had a great time and it makes me more excited for the young man he is becoming at 17+. Fills my heart with joy. What a blessing! God's continued rich blessings on you all.

Thank you for this post, my husband passed away a year ago after 5yrs of steady physical decline. It was hard, then he was gone. I was so overwhelmed with all that I was left to deal with. One morning Laying in bed I did not want to get up, it was too much to deal with. God said just DO some Thing, so I got up and made my bed, then got dressed and little by little I did one thing after another. It has become my peace, God promises to never leave us or forsake us, and promises to be the husband of the Widow. I am grateful ❤️

As always, thank you for sharing some time with us! Enjoying the candor, humor, and wisdom in your chats.
Prayers and condolences regarding Poppi. My sons lost their Poppi (and I lost my Dad) early in 2019. No matter how old they are, or how sick they might be, it is never truly easy to deal with the loss. It is said that time heals all wounds, but grief never truly goes away when it is someone you love. But time does allow more of a buffer to the shock of it all, and an adjustment to the world without them being on our mortal plane any longer.
Oh! And regarding Tidy Miah and Messy Jessie - I can totally relate! Yes, military service gives many veterans a tidy mindset. Sometimes it's a total thing (internal and external) and sometimes it is just one or the other. As a veteran myself, and coming from a military family, this is something I have seen very often. 😉

North Dakota is 7 miles north of us. I have 3 Greenstalks and I roll them in and out of our garage in the spring. We have so many grasshoppers eating EVERYTHING that I didn’t try to grow anything for fall. Next year! I also bought a small greenhouse after you showed us yours. My son put it on dollies and I roll that in and out of the garage. I went out once (many times but this was the worst) and my greenhouse was doing the splits! I didn’t lose many plants, thankfully! The wind is fierce.

My daddy was in the Army and he has always been very tidy as well. It is instilled in them.

My condolences to Miah over the loss of his Poppi. I am glad that he has many great memories with him. Just a note, the Roots10 discount code netted a $10.00 Discount for a Greenstalk order, not 10%, but hay $10.00 is $10.00 right.

My daughter is Jess the mess, her father was a marine. Trust me that caused some very heightened emotions during her growing up. Now that she is in her 30's and back living with me, it's almost like having her father back in the house. Quite often when she gets a little overboard I call her by her fathers name to make a point. Glad you two have found a way to make it work. God Bless

Hey Jess , I grow horseradish in my garden too , there a two types of horseradish out there , the one I have is common type which is known as a better quality root with broad crinkled type of leaves. The second type of horseradish has long slender leaves , it is called Bohemian. What ever is going on with your plant , it is clear that it is thriving what ever kind you have. I wish you happy roots...
