    Bernie is right. I paid $43 a semester at San Francisco State college and could take all the units I wanted. Americans used to value education.

      Me too. It breaks my heart what students and their families have to pay for tuition nowadays. It’s all part of the ultra rich plans to keep people away from education and into the lower class so they are too busy surviving and do not have time to devoted to educate themselves on how they are being exploited.

    I paid off all of my student loans, and I fully support helping as many people as possible to get help paying theirs! Just because I won't benefit for my loans doesn't mean that nobody else should...

      Yup! If the interest rate was a reasonable 0.5-1%, my student loans would've been paid off YEARS ago. But no, my country thought it was appropriate to have an 8.65% interest rate. Disgusting!

      Yep. I paid back the principle for my loans years ago, but I'll never be done paying off this debt because of all the interest charged when my loans were sold and resold and the interest rate kept going up and up. It's ridiculous.

    My parents were able to afford a home on a single income. We had a small garden to help with food costs. 1950 there was a middle class that only needed a high school education. Compare this to now when families struggle to pay their bills with two incomes. Who has money for raising children, restaurants, any vacations. The rich have milked people long enough. It's time they pay their taxes.

    I'm in my 60's and owned my first home when I was 26 yrs old. My grown kids are in their 30's and have college degrees and work hard and smart. Unfortunately they still have to rent because their student loans are outrageous, especially compared to mine when I was their age. The baby boomers (including me) all encouraged our kids to go to college to receive a college degree, a better career and a better life. Sadly a large portion will not have a life better than the previous generations. I paid my loan off but I have zero problem with showing compassion to help the kids of our future.

      Late '60s here - my wife and I did everything we could (and did) to help insure that our three kids graduated college debt free (our support plus their scholarships). Student loans are just evil, college tuition rates are even more so. My per semester fee for a full schedule (16 credit hours) of classes was less that then cost of a single credit hour now at that same school.

      A country where the majority of the younger generation is poorer than the older generation is going backwards. Our economy should work to make each generation more prosperous than the previous one, and it has always been up until recent years, no matter what political party is in power. Not just for students but for all people apart from a very small percentage. This is not how capitalism is supposed to work.

      Yeah I am 35. Paid my student loans off in 2014. I got lucky. Commuted to college from my parents home. Stayed at home for years after I graduated. Put a ton of money into paying mine off as quickly as I could. That said, the vast majority of my generation have different circumstances. I want student loan debt relief even though I know I will likely see very little (maybe no) personal benefit.

      That's especially true since many of the people have paid far more into the loans in terms of interest than they ever got from the original loan. Many of them, because of predatory loan companies, owe more now than they originally borrowed.
      And the tax cuts to the wealthy that happened under Trump's handling have caused far more increase to our national debt than forgiving all those loans could ever do!

Apple has less experience dealing with malware because for a very long time it was not worth the malware developers time to attack Apple os. Microsoft os and IBM os have had decades dedicated to dealing with malware because their market share made attacking them worth more than attacking Apple os. This has changed in the last 20 years. Apple os users are more likely to fall prey to malware because they have not been conditioned to look for it, and their os is less able to defend against it.

    Thank the gods for Bernie. I am 42 and have been paying student loan debt since 2004 and my debt has only grown.i don't make enough money at $25 an hour to pay it off. If the plan to eliminate student debt acutely passed I might be able to live above the poverty line for the first time in my life. And yes I wouldn't have to wear clothes for 2002.

    When they forgave the PPP Loans, did they write a clause that said that no one in the business, specially owners, could take a vacation anymore because their loan were forgiven? No.
    They also didn’t audit the businesses to make sure every penny that was forgiven would only go to “useful” expenses and not anything “frivolous” like bonuses for management.

      What a lot of people fail to realize is that graduates today are facing loan debts considerably larger than what we faced 30-40 years ago, with much worse job prospects. Way too many people don't understand how much has changed in the American economy over the last half century. Just look at the housing market, for example.

People deserve to be able to take a vacation, buy nice clothes, go out for a special dinner. Those are some of the things that make working worthwhile.     One of the things I'm most proud of was serving as co-chair of Bernie's 2016 campaign in Newton, Massachusetts. He has never lied to or mislead his supporters the way that many politicians routinely do. I was so pleased to see him smack down Bill Maher. A long overdue kickback.

That's why people like Bernie, Rep Raskin, Rep Porter and Sen Whitehouse(D-RI) will never be in the White House. Both parties won't support anyone who's not already shown they're willing to play ball with corporate donors.
