I'm so fkn stupid...watching this and thinking at the start 'wow, he looks a lot like Daniel from Embrace The Suck!' 😂 I always watch you guys reacting to the comedy from here in the U.K....good to see you have great taste in music too! New Subscriber here
I am going to keep pushing you on every video to do her Amsterdam Live “Face Your Demons” she definitely does some vocal gymnastics in that and casualty throws in a growl at the appropriate time.
CROWD INTERACTION. Best crowd interaction to a Nightwish Song. I Want My Tears Back from Buenos Aires 2019. Must see, even though you have seen the Wacken version.
Hey!! I'm part of this crowd. Here in Argentina, we have passion for football (soccer) and for music. We are proud about it. Greettings from Argentina. Sorry for my English. And now we are world's champions in football
wait till you see the "I want my tears back" version here in Buenos Aires !! As a Avid Fan of Rush, Heart, Fleetwood Mac, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, I understand what you mean about "sounding same " Nightwish grabbed me by their diversity, and depth. Hundreds of hours later I still hear nuances, and do not tire of the sound. Idk how to explain how they resonate such joy & energy in me, even if the song brings tears i dance inside!!
Quote: "Floor has a voice with the most potent healing properties found in the universe. A once in a lifetime vocalist - simply breathtaking. I never could have imagined a vocalist to be able to evoke so much emotion in me. So inspirational!" Yeah baby, I agree !
This is one of Nightwish' craziest songs. The final screams of frustration from Marko and Floor. “Slaying the Dreamer” is a song from Nightwish’s 2002 album “Century Child”. According to the song-writer, it tells about his emotions when his music, that is very personal to him, is harshly criticized. The lyrics describe a dreamer, who is expressing his anger towards the ones who have done cruelty to him. I'm a priest for the poorest sacrifice I'm but a raft in a sea of sorrow and greed You bathed in my wine Drank from my cup, mocked my rhyme Your slit tongues licked my aching wounds [Chorus] Put a stake through my heart! And drag me into sunlight So awake for your greed As you're slaying the dreamer [Verse 2] Swansong for the Wish of Night God it hurts, give a name to the pain Our primrose path to hell is growing weed [Chorus] Put a stake through my heart! And drag me into sunlight So awake for your greed As you're slaying the dreamer [Verse 3] Blame me, it's me Coward, a good-for-nothing scapegoat Dumb kid, living a dream Romantic only on paper Tell me why you took all that was mine! Stay as you lay - don't lead me astray! Tell me why you took all that was mine! Stay as you lay - don't lead me astray! [Bridge 1] Wake up, mow the weed You'd be nothing without me Take my life if you have the heart to die [Bridge 2] You bastards tainted my tool Raped my words, played me fool Gather your precious glitter and leave me be The Great Ones are all dead And I'm tired, too I truly hate you all!
That is to me one of the greatest things about Nightwish, they are so versatile and different. Most bands which I love from the past, and still do, you hear 10 songs from them and you kind of understand what the next song will be like, with Nightwish, each and every song is a different story and may be nothing like you ever heard from them before.
Got to love nightwish all that talent in one band this is the only band I have ever come across that I like every song and they are all different but you know it's nightwish God bless
Thnxx Mate, again great reaction.Great to see youre subs go up, you deserve it, do phantom with henk from Amsterdam, you wil absolutly wont believe how great it is
Another great reaction. Decades tour was kind of a celebration of 20 years of the band's existence. The setlist had a bunch of old songs that hadn't been played in years, partly because their second singer Annette had trouble singing some of the songs written for Tarja that had very operatic vocals. Floor adds he own interpretation to these older songs that really make this show special. Plus you add in the amazing Buenos Aries fans and their crazy energy. You saw them bouncing around a little bit in this song but check out I Want My Tears Back to get the full wonderfully crazy South American fan energy.
This whole concert is amazing...actually surprised you didn't watch I Want My Tears Back, from this show... its *extra*! And for this song, Slaying The Dreamer...do check out the version sung originally by Tarja at the End Of An Era 2005 show (her final show w rhe band.. she was fired directly after...that's part of your "research" for The Poet and the Pendulum...seeing how *intense* that whole show was! And Emppu really shreds it, back in the day!
The singing of this concert is even better then Wacken 2013. For me concert nr1. For the amazing Buenos Aires crowd feeling, try I want my tears back You’ll love it for sure !!!
A great first choice from this concert. Next maybe Dead Boy's Poem or Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean. But for audience reaction listen to I Want My Tears Back.
Background from their book, timeline 2001/02: ----------- Thanks to Marko, the band had gotten a fresh start and could basically start recording the new album with a clean slate. According to Tuomas, Marko's role in the process was crucial. "From the very beginning, I wanted Century Child to be our heaviest album. I wanted to bring the guitars and bass up front in the mix, and that's definitely what we did. Marko's bass sounds absolutely terrific. In the studio Tuomas noticed to his surprise that there was a theme running through the songs. "Century Child is not a theme album per se, but once I'd written half of the songs, I realized that each one of them - even the titles - touch upon the same motifs: childhood, innocence, especially the loss of innocence. The six-month period before recording the album was the hardest time of my life, and the music clearly reflects that. I just wanted to write down things as they were. I've never been more tempted to use the word 'f*ck' as when I was writing the lyrics for Century Child. I tried to avoid it, though. But you can certainly find a lot of strong emotions there; anxiety, even hopelessness. For me, Nightwish has always been a way to keep a diary. It's the journal of my life. Wishmaster was a more positive album, but after that I was pissed off about everything, and you can hear it on Century Child." "Slaying the Dreamer is extremely heavy. I wrote the lyrics after a bar night at five a.m. I had just been told what a horrible person and an asshole I am, blah blah. The whole thing was actually really insignificant, but it hurt me like a thousand needles. Tarja's good friend came up to me in Kitee's Karhu Bar and said, "You treat Tarja so fuckin' bad - don't you understand how much she has done for your band? How dare you not give any credit to her!" Like, "Don't you ever think about what Tarja's going through", stuff like that. This person, whom I hardly even know, gave me total hell for five minutes. I have nothing against him personally, but the incident kind of triggered many traumas. I wanted to tell some people what I really think about them, and when I got back home, I wrote 'Slaying the Dreamer'. In the morning, I read the lyrics in a clearer state of mind and deleted the f-words. The result can be heard on the album."
I was there in '18... what a night to remember. It was a cloudy , rainy evening. I travelled from Uruguay to the neghbour city of Buenos Aires to see them live for the first time. The Malvinas Argentinas mini stadium was full, they have a good fanbase in Latin America: Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile are countries they use to visit when touring. I was going to see them again on may 7th 2020... REMEMBER WHAT HAPPENED IN 2020 ?, the show was postponed one, two, three times. They finally returned to the Luna Park in october 2022, but I couldn't go. Hope they return some day to see them live again. That's what I can tell you about this. Great song, as all the others.
Let’s talk about “Slaying a Dreamer” by Nightwish, my friend. This song perfectly exemplifies the uniqueness of Nightwish’s music. Each song they create is a masterpiece in its own right, defying any attempt to fit it neatly into a genre. Sure, it can be classified as symphonic metal, but the beauty lies in the fact that every song is so distinct that it’s hard to believe they all come from the same band - if it weren’t for the band members themselves. That’s why I can assure you that you have many thrilling experiences ahead. You’ve already caught a glimpse of their repertoire, but there’s so much more to explore. Nightwish has a vast collection of songs that will continue to surprise and captivate you. They have an incredible ability to evolve and experiment, keeping their music fresh and exciting. So, my friend, stay true to yourself and keep doing what you’re doing. I can’t wait to follow along as you uncover more gems and share them on your channel. The journey with Nightwish is a never-ending adventure, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
The vision of Tuomas accomplish this complicated but beautiful composition is AMAZING 😍 And Floor and Marco's dissonance and phenomenal singing between each other is out of this World.... This was.. 👍🔥🖤🤘🖤🔥👍 Muchas gracias 🙌
Hello again, Daniel. Another amazing reaction to another fantastic Nightwish concert. This Buenos Aires Show was great from start to finish. Thank you for that.
It has been and is so much fun watching you become the NW and Floor fan u r today. There are a lot Reactors out there doing NW but you clearly“get it”. We empathize w you bc we are all there and its awesome watching and hearing someone describe the feelings we have when listening to NW and articulate what we have been trying to tell others re this band. Agree w your comments about the genius of Tuomas and how each song is a masterpiece. You’re in the thick of it now! Lots to go. Last comment, in another video you mentioned not relistening to the songs until get through the catalog. No need, they only get better on replay and add to the entire experience. And agree with @RichNieth about D&DDO.
Heya Daniel, Just caught up on your last few videos ,all great choices , Nightwish and the 70s vinyl classics I grew with . Question brother - Will you be putting the Nightwish vids into a folder so subs can go right to them ? Also may I invite you to check out "Devil in the deep dark Ocean" Buenos Aires same concert ... if you enjoyed this , You'll love that one for sure . Keep on Rockin bro - until next time , be well .
You one the good spot ,Nigthwisch and Floor are the best ❤❤❤, good comment great job, turn back so much ife you want no problem ite all ,groetjes Dirk Pitt 😅
Dead Boys Poem? Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean? Both in my top 5. And I want My Tears Back from this show will give you an idea why this crowd is so good.
Now I have to go listen to that at least five more times. I know I have said it before, but it is so refreshing to watch your reactions. If you didn't catch all of the lyrics to this one, make sure you check them out. Painful and angry doesn't begin to describe them.
I have come to understand that Nightwish is an independent band and Tuomas controls almost all aspects of their writing, composing, production, recording, and video production with their own dedicated team of skilled professionals & services. On worldwide tours, they travel with their own road crew, aka Crewish. Yes, Tuomas ( Keyboards) is the mastermind / genius behind it all.
Another great one from this show (but no bad songs at all) is Elvenjig/Elvenpath a combination of a Tuomas and a Troy song, with amazing vocal acrobatics by Floor (do not react to the Bogota version of that song, Floor was very sick there). Even here in BA 2018 she was not on full strength, although you can not hear it. And: head banging on bag pipes!
Great reaction! If you can't get the Beste Zangers version of Phantom, please do their latest live version from this past April. Nightwish - The Phantom Of The Opera (ft. Henk Poort) (LIVE) ruclips.net/video/TM23gaT4zkY/видео.html It's mind-blowing even for hardcore Nightwish fans.
Powerful stuff . Did you notice, how Thomas hammered his instrument with a fist...hot damn 🤘😎🤘!!!! Tuomas, Nightwish's songwriter, wrote this one night in a fit of rage, and had to edit it later on to get rid of all the profanity. It's an angry song directed toward the greed of mankind, and their stupidity. Floor is able to handle both the Operatic songs from the Tarja era and the more pop style of Annette, so that the band was able to have great live concerts doing a "Decades" tour with so much of their older music mixed between the different eras pre Floor. Also I think everyone wants "Live" Nightwish because the live shows were with Floor before Tuomas was able to write new music for the Floor era. This song was from the Tarja era and Tarja did a great job with it as it was written for her style, but it's great that Floor can also cover this music from the early days of Nightwish. Speaking of Iron Maiden... Floor's first Band After Forever did a Iron Maiden Cover: After Forever - The Evil That Men Do (Iron Maiden cover) (2003) ruclips.net/video/un-el_QSen0/видео.html so 20 years ago 😲. NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
I concur. Mexico City is pretty good but I think Wembley has the best audio mix to hear Floor's growls. Of course if you really want to hear her growls then Revamp is the way to go.
Speaking of the Buenos Aires crowd. I think you did I want my tears back but at Wacken. You should def! do the Buenos Aires version, you won't be disappointed, everyone else neither.
You should have reacted to I want my tears back from this concert I put it in the comments but you did the Wacken one, the one from here is much better. Thanks for your reactions 🇬🇧 The audience is wild you should check it out we don't mind you reacting twice to the same song😊
Stabat Mater Dolorosa Epica ft Floor. Same show as Sancta Terra that you reviewed. Two fantastic singers making a gig full of metal heads listen to A 13th century hymn in Latin. Play this Dan and you will be speechless
Different? Different? You still haven't heard anything yet. Tuomas is such an amazing composer. Might be time to hear Nightwish's second singer Annette Olsen singing "Slow Love Slow" with Nightwish at the Montreux Jazz Festival 2012. No. Not a typo. A JAZZ festival!!!! Then try the official lyric video of "Shoemaker" (with Floor), or the live version at Hellfest. Then try "Sleeping Sun" - all three singer's have sung that one.
That's a great performance by Annette. Montreux Jazz Festival is more receptive to Rock than the name suggests. They've hosted acts like Yes, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd over the years.
Finally got round to this one Daniel - was at a gig last night to see Iron Maiden (lucky or what!) 😊 so not getting around to it until now. You've got to love the breakdown of this one haven’t you! I love this Buenos Aires concert - the quality of sound and picture is amazing. Probably the mostly memorable numbers from this show are 'I want my tears back' - the crowd was immense - such energy - I think the band were a little taken aback by it at the beginning of the song - it's VERY special! The other song is 'Dead Boy's Poem' - such a beautifully haunting and perfectly constructed song - I just know you're going to love it! My Wife is Colombian and noticed you might have a flag or something on the wall behind you? She's seen most of the songs from this show and really loves Floor's outfit - I couldn't possible comment 😂😊 Take good care of yourself 😃...David from across the pond!
The Wembley version of Yours is an empty hope is much better than the Wembley one. Much cleaner recordings of the vocals on that one. :And btw, the lagging is almost gone here! Whatever you did, worked. :D
Hola.. Para floor no hay imposibles. Me encanta esta canción en la que todos se divierten y muestran su talento inagotable.. Emmpu impecable. Quisiera que reaccionaras a otra gran banda UNLEASH THE ARCHERS. Tienen otra cantante femenina asombrosa. (Brittney Slayes). No te defraudará.
On the topic of Iron Maiden Steve Harris from Iron Maiden said he loves Nightwish and there music is the way of the future. Also Bruce Dickinson sung a cool song for Ayreon called into the black hole which would of been Amazing live but Arjen posted to all about Bruce being on his album without getting Bruce's consent or knowledge and it turned a bit pear shaped. So not so good. Other artists perform this song live for Arjen but the album still has Bruce singing it.
You're correct with diversity comment. For example, I love Metallica, but there is only so much "different" you can do with 2 guitars, bass and drumms. Which is why I like their S&M 1 and 2 more than "regular" albums, the sound is so much richer. Nightwish isn't bound to anything (Troy plays 12 instruments alone, orchestra, choirs...), whatever is needed.
Greetings and Love from Germany..damn, seems i'm too stupid...i just can't find your unblocked 'Beste Zangers' reaction video. (Floor & Henk Poort).Nor here or on your 'embrace The suck 21' channel...
Suggestion, If you want to see and hear total madness with NIghtwish than please pretty please watch the Buenos Aires live video "i want my tears back" From Decades - Live In Buenos Aires 2019] The crowd went totaly besirk. ruclips.net/video/TBOdgxjb0kM/видео.html. If this doesn't cheer you up.....nothing wil.
Silly boy! "You're glad to be bringing this to us????"....The NW army flocks to support those like YOU discovering NW. We're seen it so many times! And yet...we find pleasure in sharing this and seeing YOU discover it! NW is ...special. NW will elevate your SOUL. Because Tuomas is old soul; because Floor is empath who can infuse a song with emotion that comes over to us; because...NW IS the Edema Ruh...celestial musicians who show up on earth at critical times to lift us above the BS normal fray, the low level gangsta dumb bum-bum-bum rap crap of metronome chant. The Army is like the good Pod People: we want to share our happiness and watch you unfold too! Love your genuine enthusiasm. Don't go fake ever to get likes.
Hey pal, for totaly crazy Floor's vocals go ReVamp Misery's no crime.: ruclips.net/video/SNPesLFTnUg/видео.html Crappy audio and video, because it was taken by mobile from audience, but best version (ReVamp have no official concert filmed) But what she is doing there is next to impossible.
I'm so fkn stupid...watching this and thinking at the start 'wow, he looks a lot like Daniel from Embrace The Suck!' 😂 I always watch you guys reacting to the comedy from here in the U.K....good to see you have great taste in music too! New Subscriber here
Lmfao!!! Yeah you found me!
"Dead Boys Poem", from this same concert....One of Floor's finest vocals....
I concur.
Not only HER vocals.....I believe that solo of Emppu is genius......
Hell yes one of my favorites !
I concur
One of my top 5.
I concur
I am going to keep pushing you on every video to do her Amsterdam Live “Face Your Demons” she definitely does some vocal gymnastics in that and casualty throws in a growl at the appropriate time.
I concur. I love that song and performance. It's only a couple of words but that growl is so appropriate and adds so much color to the lyrics.
Know you've heard it but try I want my tears back from this concert. The crowd went nuts and both Floors went crazy.
It's impossible to take your eyes off her, she's like a living magnet.
CROWD INTERACTION. Best crowd interaction to a Nightwish Song. I Want My Tears Back from Buenos Aires 2019. Must see, even though you have seen the Wacken version.

absolutely.
oh yes! Definitely! you'll be flabbergasted all over again :D
'10th man down' from the same concert is a definite must watch. It's so good!
The whole show and setlist is a must.

I concur
I concur. But Wacken first.
I concur
*entire wacken 2013 set should be first.*

[Verse 3]
Blame me, it's me
Coward, a good-for-nothing scapegoat
Dumb kid, living a dream
Romantic only on paper
Tell me why you took all that was mine!
Stay as you lay - don't lead me astray!
Tell me why you took all that was mine!
Stay as you lay - don't lead me astray!

Wake up, mow the weed

Raped my words, played me fool
Gather your precious glitter and leave me be
The Great Ones are all dead
And I'm tired, too
I truly hate you all!
Yesss....its everything. The chaos. ❤❤ great reaction!!
This is definitely a darker setlist than Wacken and I think a lot of people like that!! Angry Floor is a Happy Floor!!!!!!
That is to me one of the greatest things about Nightwish, they are so versatile and different. Most bands which I love from the past, and still do, you hear 10 songs from them and you kind of understand what the next song will be like, with Nightwish, each and every song is a different story and may be nothing like you ever heard from them before.
She has always been complete like this since After Forever (her first band)
From the same show Buenos Aries 2018 there song "Devil in the Deep Dark Ocean" will blow your socks off
This is Floor in full Valkyrie Goddess mode. Can you imagine her leading an army into battle?
Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean from this concert is an absolute masterpiece!!!!
Got to love nightwish all that talent in one band this is the only band I have ever come across that I like every song and they are all different but you know it's nightwish God bless
Oh hell yeah , thank you so so much mate ….. love your work 🇦🇺
Thnxx Mate, again great reaction.Great to see youre subs go up, you deserve it, do phantom with henk from Amsterdam, you wil absolutly wont believe how great it is
That bridge is what make this a top 10 NW song... love it!

"Slaying the Reactor" ..... another soul has fallen under the Nightwish and Floor spell. 👀😜😳🙏❤️
I think you will also appreciate Henk Poort singing ‘Sound of Silence’ for Floor on Beste Zangers

You know that things have gotten real when Tuomas starts pounding on the keys with his fists 🤘 "I Want My Tears Back" from the same concert...
A great first choice from this concert. Next maybe Dead Boy's Poem or Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean. But for audience reaction listen to I Want My Tears Back.
Such an amazing performance. You have to see this whole show. It’s crazy good 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

By the way, PLANET HELL ❤❤❤WANE OF MY FAVORIETE SONGS
You one the good spot ,Nigthwisch and Floor are the best ❤❤❤, good comment great job, turn back so much ife you want no problem ite all ,groetjes Dirk Pitt 😅
Dead Boys Poem?
Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean? Both in my top 5.
And I want My Tears Back from this show will give you an idea why this crowd is so good.
Complete joy
Now I have to go listen to that at least five more times. I know I have said it before, but it is so refreshing to watch your reactions. If you didn't catch all of the lyrics to this one, make sure you check them out. Painful and angry doesn't begin to describe them.
Hey bro!!! Argentinian crowd, best in the world!!! Greettings from Argentina
Whoever does the staging and production of these pieces of musical art is a genius. You need a mosh pit Daniel
Thank you for being amazing! Would love for you to check out Nightwish - The Pharoah Sails to Orion Live!
Thank you so much!!! Much love i will get on it today!
Thanks
Floor's first Band After Forever did a Iron Maiden Cover:
After Forever - The Evil That Men Do (Iron Maiden cover) (2003) ruclips.net/video/un-el_QSen0/видео.html so 20 years ago 😲.
NWSU/FloorFan 🤘😎🤘.
Do the Wembley version of Yours... It is the clearest and most powerful version to see Floor growling 😂
I concur. Mexico City is pretty good but I think Wembley has the best audio mix to hear Floor's growls. Of course if you really want to hear her growls then Revamp is the way to go.
😊🇫🇮💙🪄✨💯🤘
Speaking of the Buenos Aires crowd. I think you did I want my tears back but at Wacken. You should def! do the Buenos Aires version, you won't be disappointed, everyone else neither.
You should have reacted to I want my tears back from this concert I put it in the comments but you did the Wacken one, the one from here is much better. Thanks for your reactions 🇬🇧 The audience is wild you should check it out we don't mind you reacting twice to the same song😊
Good one.
How about her outfit? Astonishing….
My favorite :)
@@FromG2eminor Same. Probably checked the sword and cape prior to performing. 😁
Nearly 4.5k yay
Stabat Mater Dolorosa Epica ft Floor. Same show as Sancta Terra that you reviewed. Two fantastic singers making a gig full of metal heads listen to A 13th century hymn in Latin. Play this Dan and you will be speechless
On the other side of the Alleghenies that's pronounced "Bonus Aries" but whatever. Isn't this stuff just perfection?
"Vocal Olympics"! ;-) ;-) ;-)
Different?
I am 50% Colombian. My father is Colombian. From Medellin.
@@AriasandtheNATION My Wife's from Medellin too! Got married there and have spent some very memorable times in Colombia 🇨🇴
Youll probably want to check out the same song from End of an Era concert with original singer Tarja
Now... Flip the other way...Dead Boy's Poem...before the adolescent testosterone curse set in...remember innocence...your True Nature
The Wembley version of Yours is an empty hope is much better than the Wembley one. Much cleaner recordings of the vocals on that one. :And btw, the lagging is almost gone here! Whatever you did, worked. :D
I meant; much better than the Mexico one** 😂 I was a little tired when I wrote this. 🤣
🤗🍒🤘🏻
new favorite????!!!!! LOL
And honestly i am absolutely loving this journey that the nightwish army has put me on! Much love!
Perfectly said
Hey pal, for totaly crazy Floor's vocals go ReVamp Misery's no crime.: ruclips.net/video/SNPesLFTnUg/видео.html
Crappy audio and video, because it was taken by mobile from audience, but best version (ReVamp have no official concert filmed)
But what she is doing there is next to impossible.
🐕
Yeah you should just start at the beginning of the set list and work your way down but you have to finish wacken first , what am I even saying.
Yours Is An Empty Hope - WEMBLEY. Not Mexico 😅
🇬🇧 Norfolk . Glad you got to the concert the crowd are mental and metal here 😊
Another station on your Nightwish train ride
