Dude. I dig everything you are doing. Comedy is the great uniter. It brings all walks of life, race, religion and creed together in a shared moment. As long as it is done well. Keep doing what you are doing dude!
5:15 - I think it's the same thing we've started learning about praising kids better. If a kid gets straight A's and you say "You are SO SMART!", that's great and all, but we've learned that this kind of phrasing creates a sense of identity that can harm people as they get older. If being smart is part of your identity, it's going to be tough the first time you struggle in school. If you heard "You're so beautiful!" all the time, you're gonna be confused if you ever get rejected. Better to not attribute their success to some intrinsic factor they possess, but rather to their hard work. Instead of "You're so smart!" you could say "You really crushed it this period! Great work!" Instead of "You're so beautiful!" you might say "You did a great job getting ready today, I love your outfit/hair/makeup/etc!" Acknowledging the work that went into the good things people experience or achieve is important. To do otherwise diminishes those good things in the eyes of others, which is disrespectful to the person who worked so hard. Worst case scenario, it diminishes that work and those good things in the eye or the person who achieved them, which is supremely gross. Lebron ain't the GOAT because his ancestors were properly bred or some shit like that. Lebron is the GOAT because he's worked every single day of his life to be better at something than he was the day before. For DECADES.
Yo why is bull burr poppin recently 🤣🤘🏼 I remember watching all his specials when it aired. Its weird how something hits one audience but doesn’t reach another till later! Even in this crazy world of technology there are still popular people I’ve never heard of that others are boppin to. Crazy.
As a black man, if that's what they have studied lmao and there was definitely slave breeding, I mean... Shit makes sense lmao *he made a great point about people using it to dismiss black success though
There’s actually a pretty famous study that was done a few years ago (it should be super easy to find with google if anyone wants to read it, which I highly recommend) where they analyzed the types of adjectives and descriptors used by soccer commentators (I believe it was specifically British soccer commentators) to describe players and then compared them based on the player in question’s race/ethnicity. The results, perhaps unsurprisingly, showed that white and fair-skinned players were typically described with words like “intelligent,” “industrious,” “hard-working,” “tactician,” etc. and were much more likely to be praised for their teamwork and leadership while black players were mostly described as being “athletic,” “powerful,” “fast,” “lackadaisical,” etc. and were much more likely to be criticized for mistakes as well as for perceived lack of effort or laziness. EDIT: The study is called “Racial Bias in Football Commentary: The Pace and Power Effect.” It was conducted using English-language soccer broadcasts from US, UK, and Canadian coverage of the 2019-2020 season and analyzed a total of 2,074 statements made regarding a total of 643 individual players.
Burr is comedic gold. Truth in what he says about black athletes just being superior in so may sports. You guys have such natural ability and you do it in STYLE Bro;'. Keep being real
Nah man. The success of this channel is all due to you! Congrats to you sir! We love you and your reactions to the videos we suggest. Much love. ❤️❤️❤️
Honestly. Biology is biology. Black guys dominate track and field.... White guys dominate swimming events. The differences are what makes us the great human race.
This reminds me of the old Swedish slalom ace, Ingemar Stenmark. He got the question from a reporter: -But does not luck have something to do with your success? -I don´t know much about luck, but the harder I practise, the more luck I have.
I got instant love for this new lane Scru! We gotta see some Gary Owen, Honest John, and if you're not up on Mitch Hedberg you have now been put on. Keep it up!
Damn! My ancestors were quakers! Thanks for pointing out that they were some of the good guys in that situation. 😀 I love your laugh. Please keep sharing that laugh and smile with us.
I just subbed and why I did was I have watched a lot of black folks reacting to Bill Burr videos, and I am curious when I see someone new on my feed checking out the his work. I can tell right away if I am going to like the host by how much he enjoys the stories Bill tells. But what really makes me like your channel, and this is serious, is that your intro is "We got, "Title", Let's go!"
Very enjoyable as per usual. I also must say your comment about Quakers helping escaping slaves is spot-on, as I'm currently reading a 19th-century novel about the differing perspectives of Southern plantation life (Hint: Harriet Beecher Stowe is the author), and there's a segment where a group of Quakers helps some runaways (a husband, wife, and young child) flee from that sort of environment. At one point, the escaping family and Quakers are pursued by hired thugs and cornered on a rocky range, when one of the Quaker men steps forward and pushes the largest of them into a chasm, only to venture down there a little while afterwards and tend to the injured man. My first thought upon reading that was, "Man's helping another guy out, but I'll be darned if he doesn't have some massive cojones."
In reality the place where I've seen the "intelligent move" "athletic move" contrast in broadcaster and journalist vernacular is when QB are discussed in the NFL. Also a little bit with wide receivers and tight ends etc. People are a bit more educated about their biases on that now and most media people have cleaned that language up.
don't thank us, thank in incredible Bill Burr, without him you don't have a pod cast. so reach out to him and let him know, I and the rest of the world love Bill Burr. show some respect to B.B.
Happy your channel is doing well already my guy! reaction channels are big.. and i wanna really dive into the idea behind them and understanding of us who watch them.. the psychology in it all. Personally for me, i attribute some of it to the fact i don't have many people i share things i like with, comedy, rap, criminology videos etc so i think it's really validating when you watch someone react and appreciate the things you love or enjoy. When it's throwbacks too? like old eminem songs we grew up w etc MANNN it's so enjoyable to watch goddamn lol And then the reactors all have their own perspectives and opinions on things which makes each one unique. I cycle threw like 5-6? You for example? well don't gotta think too long lol your history and relationship with hip hop makes you an awesome source of information in that regard. You make me appreciate lines SO MUCH more. As a guy who rapped as a kid for a bit, then produced, i learnt how to breakdown bars from my best friend (Mac-Leven ;) and how it's used.. The multies, inners, alliteration etc i love it! so It's fucking great to watch you appreciate that shit!! and your knowledge on different ish is awesome. ya know fuck it, ima throw down a few for fun why not :) Here w my dude chillin, all the sudden I'm feelin I'm scru'd up Man I'm just Here to make a killin fuckin kill em like who...... what? where? its funny how the first joke aged, because "twitch muscles" are a real thing. Some people are able to tense and charge their muscles for an explosive/quick activation of said muscle. Its a genetic thing, not a "black" or "white" or "Asian" thing
One of my brother in laws is Jamaican born and the two of us are like Wax On Wax Off. We are not what you call athletic except when we dodge the women over yard work. That's what kids and grandkids are for.
I'm mixed and at times at work people ask me why I'm so strong because I don't look it at all and I just tell them "oh yea that's my black side" and room gets quiet lol
Mitch Hedberg ( just crazy original quick jokes), Shane Gillis ( just one of the bro's), Patrice O'Neal (Was one of Bill Bur's best friends and just hilariously told it like it was), Ali Siddiq (one of the best story teller's), Mark Normand (just a joke machine), Norm McDonald (Most comedians favorite comedian)... Just to name a few.
The quick twitch and slow twitch muscles are a real thing and y’all have more elasticity in those tendons than we do. So yall can run faster and jump higher. It’s just facts. It’s a real thing. I know Bill is doing a joke about it but it’s a legit thing. Do your research
Funny thing is that when Jesse Owens came home to the US, shit was still segregated. And he even had a hard time finding work. An olympic hero, shunned because he was black. What a shame.
Here is how I explained race to my kids when they were younger, & how I've heard them talk to their friends about it later. Just for reference I'm a white male who lives in the projects, 46yo now, with 2 sons 18 and 21 now. I told them people are like candy bars. Race is the wrapper of the candy bar. The good part of that candy is on the inside not the outside. You throw the wrapper in the trash because the best part is what is inside the wrapper, just like people. I told them both this when they were about 5 & 8.
Funny - I think you'll enjoy the video of him talking about arguing with his wife about Elvis. It's a "netflix is a joke" clip but is available on youtube.
"We're saying black dudes are FAST! We're not saying you can't also be scientists. We're just saying if there was a race to the microscopes, you'd win!" 🤣🤣🤣
So much Bill Burr content out there for you to react to. Happy you’re getting into comedy and laughing. “Women Failed The WNBA” is hilarious.
He's done that one actually!
I damn near watch every bill burr reaction out there, especially from couples 😂😂😂
I did that one
Same here, I struggle finding new reactors. @@Kemozabe
Give his Philly rant a look. He goes OFF on Philly for them booing comedians and Bill just went to the next level even by his standards. It's nothing short of legendary!
This is like saying "if you're a fan of Seinfeld, he has this bit about airline food " lol
To be fair to Scru, he did in fact try that one, but it got denied via RUclips being weird. He talks about it in one of his other vids here.
It didnt get denied, it got age restricted@@InstrucTube

Tom Segura's First 48 is a must watch.

Absolutely!!! The first 48 had me in tears

Bill Burrs bit when he's making the analogy between baking a birthday cake and abortion is hilarious!

Listen to the NFL commentators closely next time you watch a game. Every white slot receiver is “sneaky fast” and “runs smart routes”.
the old "Smart play vs. Athletic play" routine.
Bill Burr - Titanic Is A Horror Film
Dude. I dig everything you are doing. Comedy is the great uniter. It brings all walks of life, race, religion and creed together in a shared moment.
As long as it is done well. Keep doing what you are doing dude!
Bill Burr is so goated I swear
Dude, you gotta watch Bert Kreisher 'the machine' because it's an insane performance!
