Tbh poopy, i ran into this problem all my life in gaming. I was always the off meta i every single game i ever played, in wow especially i've always been in the top of the world ranks too. " one could argue youpudding is in the top of AOE2 ranks" And yet even if your off meta style proves practical and strong you would recieve hate by the top players who can't accept that their meta-slave play style can be challenged by creativity.
He pretended to never hear about you or the cannon galleon Strat on a GL podcast a few months ago but then specifically calls out the Strat and takes a shot indirectly at the pooplord and friends. Seriously remember this is the guy who lames opponents sheep under TC fire and is responsible for randoms patch’s and bug fixes for exploits he found including one were he killed a villager with a horse which wasn’t by accident which nothing he has done l have problem with the only problem l have is with Hera’s hypocrisy.
Side note let Biebs debate Hera on this manner he would easily win the debate and l think even players like Viper or Daut most likely would side against Hera on this. Let’s not forgot the meme or low elo players are the masterminds of all the strats pros use today. Without casual Andy’s there wouldn’t be an esports because the games would be dull and boring which it’s getting to that point. Hera unintentionally is killing the game because everyone’s goal is to play exactly like him.
I don't think Hera made that video to say that kind of players must die or suffer tremendous punishment for their behavior... He simply listed the top 5 kind of player everyone is annoyed to face. And that's it. Everyone hates to have their sheeps stolen, don't they...???

You definitely have a point defending "the cheeser", yet I'm still defending Hera, since he focused his video on the overall AOE2 "etiquette". He put cheeser in 4th and also said "it's ok to have 1 or 2 cheeser around". He was definitely more angry at the guys wasting our time, flamers and rage quitters. And that goes perfectly along with his follow up video listing top 5 kind of player. In my experience, I've been utterly rushed and crushed by guys that still "gg"ed me, said few civilized word, maybe a tip or two... And I felt perfectly fine. On the other hand, when I first started to play online, "cheesers" put the creepy 11 laugh, insulted me, ashemed me. I was about to quit the game, and God knows how many other players did it. I guess that combo cheeser+flamer is the most rotten apple of all. Not because cheesers themselves are wrong, but because you still have to do it with some sort of etic and "etiquette". Don't you agree...???

If you’re losing and out of desperation and spite decide to evacuate a bunch of vills to corners and wall them in, that’s totally different than sneaking a vill behind the enemy base and walling it in and making barracks. The same is true for canon galleons
lmao i think Hera just lose to a tower rush before making this video, the cheesers are the most creatives and the players that have the most fun ! Some people need to relax and just enjoy the game. Also, I don't understand why people like to boom so much, like him when he blame the castle rushes, booming is so annoying.

I don't know what you're talking about Poop Lord. When I'm losing on Oasis, I get salty, re-boom, get to imp, Onager cut to the middle and then make 60+ Bombard Cannons on the water all the time.
I appreciate out of the box strategies, but some are seriously annoying to play against. You're allowed to go cannon galleons, and your opponents are allowed to complain about it.
I commented on his video as soon as I saw it. I think he has lots of points and sometimes attitudes from community base (in any game) can lead to decreasing that community potential and people might leave the game just because of that. But now way cheesing is something bad
Try it in quickplay, it has standard victory, and post the vid, may not be funny since in quickplay there is no elo so you’ll be playing vs not experienced players
without memers aoe2 wouldnt be what it is t90 and a whole lot other guys get a ton of views on forest nothing.. community games etc legend of this and that with less publicity there would be less players less prize pool and everything

Hera blaming the players is misguided. The devs are responsible for allowing it. For example, they could add search and destroy functions like other games have, for players that like to hide units all over the map instead of resigning. That's not the players fault when the devs could easily implement a solution. Same with water cannon galley strats. They could change win condition for water military units. I.e if you only have water units and docks, ans no TC or other land buildings, you lose the game. But the devs choose to have the game a certain way. Why blame players for that? Number 4 is so stupid. Pros lame all the time. Might as well say players killing my units is cheese
I pointed out to Hera, he does a cheese tactic of stealing sheep from under the TC and having the TC shoot them. It a bit hypocritical to pass blame on others. Now there is a difference between an exploit and strategy. But at the same time exposing an exploit so it can be fix is a good thing. The only issue with exploits is playing against someone who can become frustrated with the game when they lose to an exploit If someone wants to expose an exploit, they should do it against the AI and not on the ladder. Some examples of exploits are duplicating relics, jumping into a siege tower to avoid being hit and jump out and attacking immediately. A strategy has strengths and weaknesses, some examples are 8 pop scouts, or 20 elephants in 20 min. I don't seem much difference between aggressively attacking and extreme booming. Both are to gain an advantage you can snowball into a victory. This is why (as Hera says all the time) it is so important to scout.
