In most game series, if you go back to an old location in another game, it is a feeling of "oh this is sweet nostalgia." In Metal Gear Solid 4 coming back to Shadow Moses, you find a decaying base. This was a place so significant to the identity and history of Snake, so when he comes back it is simply a sad reminder that he doesn't have much time left, and that he himself is a relic. It really handled that sad nostalgia well.
I got mad when I saw Rex and It's Rail Gun was removed. I'm a huge Robot Fan and Metal Gear REX was a big thing in my Childhood. When I saw Rex Had lost his railgun I was pissed. Almost 25 years have gone by since MGS1. My schools ended, my Uni ended, my relationships ended, my father passed away... So much has happened to me in those 25 years that I can't even remember all of it. This song is like a long lost friend. Every time I hear it I begin to tear up, not because I think the best is yet to come, but because I reminisce on all those times in those 25 years that I thought the best was yet come. Rest In Peace Snake. Growing up with you was a blast.
Hot damn 25 years already eh? Time really does pass in mysterious ways. Part of me feels like it was just yesterday when I played this on PS1. Another part of me feels like it was an entire lifetime ago as so much has come and gone in these 25 years.
@@eggynuts7735 look at your youtube channel you loser lmfao project your insecurities harder my guy. dude is reminiscing about a good old video game song and you in here hating. grow up. no one likes people like you.
The nostalgia from this part of the game really got to me, it was so well done. Shadow Moses was so brilliantly re-designed for PS3 graphics yet they kept everything how it was, the look and feel, so faithful to the original. The best part was going to the office where Snake first met Otacon and fought Gray Fox. It felt just like MGS1.
Arrive on Shadow moses This song kicks in I start getting emotional Fucking gekko spots me and cuts music 5 seconds in the song. Fucking Gekko I swear to god.
Death stranding had the same problem. No clue how they haven't figured out to just let the player toggle if the music should override X, Y and Z features while playing, or fall to background(simply putting this in the menu) . It really shouldn't be hard to still have all the songs play through the games at least once per visit, without cutting each other off.
When I first got back to Shadow Moses all I did was spent my time looking around all the places that I could go to just remember the old days back when I plays the first MGS game on the PS1
English version lyrics Do you remember love Love from a tormented heart Not fleeting, as with music at night But an eternal love Now tainted Now tainted Go now and reclaim it Go now and love Recall the times when you were happy. Recall the times when you laughed. Life is wonderful Do you have faith in it? Turn your face to life, To eternal joy. What happened to those days? What happened to those nights? Do you remember How you turned to grief? Do you remember How you turned to sorrow? Is the blame mine or ours? Our feelings grew faint What caused our grief and fighting? Can there be beauty in life? If you seek it out. Can there be happiness in life? Let's seek it.
"You must be crazy to fly a hind in this weather" "Who's that?" "This is mei ling, she will in charge of recording data for your mission" "It's nice to meet you snake."
None of my friends understand what I felt when I came back to Shadow Moses :/ I think it's a feeling that only us, who played mgs for years, can understand :')
You are right, only we who lived those moments understand these sensations Believe me I learned English from this game, it's a living history that lives within every player of us
+ada wong I guess is the fact that some of us grew old with the character, Solid Snake is somebody we have known for years, a "hero" or "idol" that symbolizes treasured moments when playing and when we were younger. And now in MGS4 we see snake suffer so much and how all the people that idolized him continued with their lives and now kind of see him whit pity.
+TMALATERALUS Not necessarily. I began the MGS games with this one (the fourth) because the others didn't interested me. And fuck this one gave me chills.. It began with the intro, the music, Snake's voice... You already feel that it'e one of the best games ever made. I didn't really know Snake's story, but it didn't matter : I felt what he felt. And shit it was the best experience I've ever had
+Léo François-Serafin It may have given you chills, but trust me, you didn't feel the impact like people who have been with this game since they were young. 10 years had passed between this game and that game, and everything in this section just emphasises how time just moves on, with or without us. Without experiencing what Snake has been through you can't really grasp it unless you played it at the time. I was 5 years old when MGS1 was released, I don't think I got to play it for a while though.(my family members had it though), and then MGS4 was released in my region when I was 19. It's like actually experiencing the time change, physically.
am i the only one who thought that revisitng Shadow Moses after all this time both in game time and real time was a brilliant design choice or that it was my favorite level in the game?
This part killed me. It reflected on us as we remember our memories about MGS1 and it became emotional. What really kills me the most is that Solid Snake didn't deserve to die after this game. He was a true hero that everyone needed, not the one they need right now. I know he would say to me that he's no hero but he is, he probably just doesn't it know it. R.I.P Solid Snake.
Man it was surreal going back to Shadow Moses in MGS4. I scratched only the surface of what it would feel like as an elderly person to go back to a place where you were in your childhood. I played MGS like crazy. I was born in 95 so obviously wasn't able to play it right at release but my Uncle had it and ever since I could remember I would play MGS but only up to the end of the Ocelot boss fight. I had no memory card and plus was too scared to play more (The classic ALERT sound used to scare the shit outta me!) Then eventually when I was 9/10 I got my Uncles memory card and beat the game. I've beaten it at least a couple dozen times since that day and then I got MGS4 in around 2010 and played it. Grew up with the MGS series and that moment in MGS4 had me in awe. I just put the controller down, sat back and took it all in. The visuals, the music, man I was getting so many chills and goosebumps. A moment I'll never forget.
Oh my good😂. So when i was 8-9 my oder brother played it and i watched it. Im 16 now and i started to play all mgs-games in december- 2 days ago i finished mgs4. ITS THE BEST GAME IN HOSTORY. On the end of all 4 games i MUST cry. i never wanted to play mgs as a child altough i had the chance to do. IT was the alert theme too that me Made scared😂. Ok, Im an german, so my grammatik isnt good yet. But wat i try to sai is: Metal gear is more than a game. Its a life teacher.
+Thomas Kostović the goal of life is death. The meaning is what we decide to do between our birth and death. We choose how we live, how we go on. Wether we quit, or push on to victory.
I think the "MGS4 has too many cutscenes" argument is not very good. Watch the cutscenes to appreciate the story and the themes. However, the game is meant to be played multiple times, so that each time through the player is better and better at the game. All it takes is a button press to skip a cutscene.
Returning to Shadow Moses as Old Snake with this beautiful song playing had me nearly in tears. It was hearing Meryl's voice "Are you Snake? The legendary Solid Snake" over the music that made me search the helipad in tears letting the song finish before wiped my eyes and crawled through the vents one last time.
When I played MGS1 I automatically fell in love with it.. Then I played this one MGS4 and I arrived here shadow moses and this song came on... I put my pad down my hand on my forehead sheding tears for like 5 minutes I couldn't believe it all those years childhood memories I was soo happy those days now im just sad and this made my weekend.. Its beautiful to see all MGS fans in one place because of one guy SNAKE!!! This guy was like a hero to me man snake went through alot torture pain grief everything but his still here kojima did a great job bringing us back here I bet he him self shredded tears making this and coming back here to shadow moses... Anyways love u all below bless u all MGS fans im gone I feel to emotional lol
Hot Boy Malik Same feelings here man i might just be 19 years old my first and fav mgs might be 2 but when i played 1 and 4 the feeling striked so bad this song made it double the amount harder to bear..we should all thank Kojima and his team and people that worked for this series which is more of a life lesson rather just a game..Solid Snake will always be my Hero althought he will always say he is not one ;)..I wish you the best my fellow mgs friends from a Greek hope my wishes reach you all wherever you come from i might use the reference of mgs v we are all diamond dogs ;)

I feel you brother! Such a shame that David Hayter quit the voiceover gig for Snake though. This song+a scene combination of Sniper Wolf and Meryl dying ughh!!!Tear jerk!
I had to stop and ball I wasn't around for it to first release but I played it and I played mgs4 and I just about lost it more than the quarantine part on mgs V (sorry if I spoiled it)
I played MGS 1 for the first time in September 2015. I played MGS 4 for the first time in December 2015. Such a short time between playing both games for the first time, and I still cried when I reached Shadow Moses in MGS 4.
Same fucking story man. I bought the Legacy Collection and played the whole franchise. Ended MGR today. There is just the MGS V left for me, and i'm already sad, because after beating the final game i will never see such emotional, epic and beautiful universe again. MGS has a special place in my heart. 2015 was a year full of events, good and bad events, and MGS is along everything that made 2015 so special.... Snake may not be a hero, but one thing is certain, he is my hero.
This song is my favorite when i go visit my moms grave i sit with a cigarette listening to a time when i had everything in my life before i lost all the people in my life from my mother to my fiance now i sit under clouds that never seem to stop raining..
i was 14 and had never been more excited for a release. i read thr three page 10/10 review countless times and played the demo to death. my favourite game of all time.
I'll never forget my first time playing this part of MGS4. I actually had to pause the game and just take in what I was about to do. Seeing it brought tears of joy to my eyes, it was a perfect homage to the greatest game of all time. Mr. Kojima, you probably won't see this but I have to thank you for making such a perfect series, you are an amazing creator and have given me some amazing memories that I'll never forget. Thank you Mr. Kojima, from your fans.
*are not and that's not true, not everyone can be fully engaged by an experience... (spoilers) but I cried in the ending when I thought snake killed himself
Its amazing how much love there is towards this game out there. This game has been around for so long that ive stopped being attracted towards all the shooting and action as a kid to me being attracted to the characters and the story the MGS saga has to tell, as an adult. truely a remarkable game. and the shadow moses moment, words cannot describe.
it is actually in Gaeilge lol but the translation is quite simple Do you remember love Love from a tormented heart Not fleeting, as with music at night But an eternal love Now tainted Now tainted Go now and reclaim it Go now and love Recall the times when you were happy. Recall the times when you laughed. Life is wonderful Do you have faith in it? Turn your face to life, To eternal joy. What happened to those days? What happened to those nights? This part in the game, literally made me cry. When you're old Snake and you come back to where it began all those years ago, and hearing those old Codec voices.......It was seriously hard hitting and impactful. I still feel like crying every time I hear this, it's like saying goodbye to one of my favorite characters, and looking back at all those memories
First reaction when I heard the flutes ..."no fucking way" (shadow Moses island)... Took me back when I was 12 and purchased MGS!! Hideo Kojima did a pure fucken genius job. He took us all back when this legacy began as this twist nobody expected. Made us feel like we've been part of this game for 10 years of our lives.
..I just finished playing Metal Gear Solid 4 and seriously, I was really surprised that one of his missions was returning to Shadow Moses Island...some of the cut scenes in this game, in game cutscenes, and when this theme started to play...I almost cried. hahaha! it literally brought back memories not just from the game, but also memories from my past personally. I guess MGS4 also made us nostalgic in a way...I'd say emotionally...well, a little bit. XD
Even though I had just gotten into the series by the time MGS4 came out, it was still magical when I got to this part of the game. In fact, MGS4 was the first game I had for PS3 when I got it for my 16th birthday.
Same here. I got MGS4 in summer 08 when I was 13, and it is one of the best PS3 games I've ever played. In addition, I bought the three previous games and beat them all in one season in backwards order. Awesome experience to spend your whole summer break on before going back to school =)
These are such the feel moments aha I can't believe only as a child hearing of my brother's friend having Mgs1 and we had a ps1 so eventually obtained it. And I can remember later years having my own room finally and playing Mgs2 and countless times of playing I can still remember that late night first time beating the game. Lmao when I finally got my own ps2 it was like family night n popcorn n movies but I was a lil kid n it was a scary movie so Instead I played Mgs3 like the whole night haha. Then my brother having his own ps3 at times we didn't have internet connection or much games, but my first game for ps3 was Mgs4 oh my he used to get mad as fuq for me playing it so long lmao
To me it was strange but the entire game mgs4 was emotional to me. The return to shadow Moses made me want to cry. After almost a decade since I played mgs1 I still remembered where everything was. And the end of the game is a true testament to the incredible charecter development of the series when otacon says "snake needs to rest, he's had a hard life" it makes you hurt for him. A video game series that taught me more about humanity than I learned from people
I'm so glad I didn't look up playthroughs before playing. When I walked onto the helipad at the start of act 4 chills ran through my body. The only use of the iPad in the game for me too, to listen to this in any act.
when I got in Shadow Moses in mgs4 my head flashed and suddenly I was seeing my first gameplay of the original mgs the grafics, the music EVERYTHING was like old times and when I heard that flashback... I cried a lot it was like reviving my fucking childhood man
@@MarcosNarducci There's remake on Gamecube,MGS Twin Snakes. Is it good? Well,it's got same gameplay and mechanics as MGS 2,but that had some issues. For example, when you reach second floor of Tank Hangar, you have to reach staircase while avoiding security cameras. With Hanging Mode, that challenge is gone because MGS 2 mechanics made Twin Snakes too easy. As for story and music,well... In many cutscenes, there are The Best is Yet to Come playing, where Meryl was talking with Snake in ladies bathroom, cutscene where Snake and Otacon talk before boss battle with Hind D and Sniper Wolf's final cutscene. This song was replaced by generic guitar music or goofy moves in Sniper Wolf's final cutscene. Some remakes got same voice acting from original and kept it,like Medievil PS4 remake, where they kept old voice actors and copied it from original. Twin Snakes, however, some voice actors have been replaced while some didn't had original voice lines and they changed tune of their voices. Twin Snakes is good game, but mediocre remake. It's best to wait for MGS remake where they will keep the same music and same voice acting from original without using same gameplay mechanics from previous MGS games.
I can't believe it's been 10 years already since MGS4. The only video game that will always give me memories. I was like 6 when I played MGS1 with my dad. Neither one of us knew English at that time, but we could definitely feel the story... It was the only game he liked to watch me play. When I heard this song in MGS4, I instantly reminisced about me and him playing the game. Time flies, but those memories will stay.. I'll be turning 23 soon.
15 years since I played for the first time. I didn't have the experience to play mgs1 first and I still mourn that. But when I played one and then four again I felt the significance....13 years after that I'm playing again for the first time. A true masterpiece of emotional prowess, music, visuals and story that throttle my soul and bring me to tears over and over as I feel the nostalgia of the youth and day by day feel my own story starting to slip to the past. So many valuable lessons learned from a story inside a video game...and not just how to cook eggs well.
Going back to Shadow Moses in 4 now feels like it did when we first saw it. What I mean is, we all have memories of something that's long gone. Memories of MGS1, 2, 3 Peace Walker and now 4. We could have had so much more from this series. A game featuring the boss in WW2 was something Kojima wanted to do. Could you imagine how amazing that would look on something like the PS5 these days? Another series potential killed by it's owners.
Same here, feels weird looking through it. The music though, is a nostalgia from 1998. That dose feel long ago. Something spiritual, mythical. Too its heart. It kinda reminds me of my cat Baggy. Loved him very much, found him in Hull in 2004 and lived with us coming too london, he had a good life, he pass in 2016. Miss him dearly as a good friend and so many good memories even with this. He was a maine coon cat, his orgins from the states but unknown. But still the theme sticks like a native theme, spiritual and waves. Reminds me of the good times we had while playing games at night while he sat beside me. We went through tough times but he always made things feel better. I could talk too him for hours and just listen. Good friend.
Hideo Kojima deserves the world award for the best creator of the greatest fucking saga in the world. The game is a world apart, the game has the best songs, it has the best story, it has everything a real gamer is looking for. Metal Gear will be the best of the best forever. This song brings me so many memories and every time I play metal gear it makes me cry with happiness, hate, sadness, it gives me a lot of feeling this game kojima penetrated my soul and my heart is in metal gear. Imagine to such a level that thanks to Snake he motivated me to enter the US Navy this August 30. I love you METAL GEAR FOREVER. MY RESPECTS TO BIG BOSS AND SOLID SNAKE.
Oh getting back to the island after a decade of playing the original. The nostalgia. A moment to remember for the rest of my life. Enough that it may be one of the memory flashes at the end of my life.
Snake, I asked an active-duty army officer once - if an infantryman had to take on a tank one-on-one, how should he do it? "And? What was his answer?" "Don't. He swore there was no way in hell a single infantryman could be able to take down a tank by himself.... You're the toughest, craziest, most hardcore badass on the planet! You're...the shit!"
Having only started my Metal Gear journey months ago with the original Metal Gear and beating MGS1 twice, it felt so surreal being at Shadow Moses in MGS4. I had the biggest smile on my face as I walked into the old abandoned base and this song played. I realized then that MGS1 became one of my Top 10 favorite games. Just like that.
Played MGS 1 first time when I was 8 or 9 and multiple times over the years after the first time. Played MGS 4 first time when I was 22 and when I got to Shadow Moses and this started to play in the background nostalgia hit me hard. Not gonna lie, had really warm feelings inside and shed a couple tears and the in-game flashbacks and memories. To me this has been the most awesome sequel to any game ever!!!
I remember first playing MGS after nabbing it from a thrift store December of 2016. Since then I was hooked and I dug into every MGS game minus the PSP ones. No better words could describe it but "what a thrill". Replaying these games was equally enjoyable in the same way rewatching a classic movie is. It was an amazing story tied together with some of the best games ever made. I can go on and on about how great these games are.
mgs was one of the best games with a story I ever played, never felt so much pain and love even this song brings back a lot of emotions and memories. Thank you Hideo Kojima for these awesome games.
So happy to remember this song and hear it again, it’s just uniquely beautiful. My brother and I both played the original MGS on PlayStation many times over when we were kids
This was the most amazing moment in gaming history for me! Took me back to my youth. Tears rolling down my cheecks as I heard this heavenly voice, the sweet tunes of the music fading in ... The greatest goosebump moment ever!
This song brought a tear to my eye ,because it brought back so many memories ,not just of the game ,but memories of when MGS 1 came out ,I was in my early twenties ,my parents were still alive ,life goes so quick :(
I just have visited shadow moses in my first playthrough in metal gear solid 4 on ps3 super slim.. man after playing mgs1,2,3 it felt like i came back to my old city where i grew up. Idk how to describe this feeling maybe...nostalgia?
Five is completely different from the rest of the games. Personally, I think that the freedom it gives players opens up almost infinite replayability. Is it a good game? Yes. Should it be compared to Four, a game that excelled in completely different ways and created a satisfying ending for Old Snake and many of the beloved characters of the franchise? No. They're both good games but in different aspects. MGSV story is garbage, but the gameplay is the real reason people play.
I've said it a million times before... This game, isn't a game. It's a life-changer, it's an experience, it's something that builts up for years, and something you live with and cherish with your whole being, for the entirety of your life. I will never experience anything even remotely close to this. From the first time I gazed my eyes upon MGS in 2001, to my last day, I will love and look onto MGS as a masterpiece that lived in me for years, that built the love for the sake of its story and the meaning it collected over the years. I remember my parents yelling at me for playing the MGS1 demo for weeks and weeks, playing 20 minutes of it every day, soon I got my full copy... My father started getting late for work, my mother, too, same as me getting late for school, as we stayed all night long playing MGS1, trying to beat Mantis. But after MGS1, they have stopped, but I carried on, and for the next 18 years it grew with me, I loved it as living thing, as you could love a person, and it always will remind me, and keep me sane, knowing that I expierenced it and that life was perfect.
Sure, the front door was open this time, but I just had the need to go through the vents.

I'm fairly certain everyone else had that exact same feeling to do so.
Mr.541 Just like old times...

"A surveillance camera?"
**camera falls to the ground like our childhood dreams**
*sigh* :(
yes... nostalgic and bitter
I fucking started bawling like a baby at that moment... I saw so much symbolism behind it...and the time, the memories... oh man..
This.
I felt that. But I still have hopes that Kojima has a little bit of Metal Gear resonsting in his already godly creative heart.
In most game series, if you go back to an old location in another game, it is a feeling of "oh this is sweet nostalgia." In Metal Gear Solid 4 coming back to Shadow Moses, you find a decaying base. @Nam Gge Kohima just woke up one day and chose violence
I’d like to note that the passage of time in game between mgs1 and mgs4 was the same amount of time in the real world.
Please, tell me I'm not the only one who cried after hearing this in MGS4
I was crying..

+Paul 123 It's the Apex of fan service, I can't think of any other game that managed to pull this off so well.
best part for me was having low-poly snake face as a disguise option.
"Naomi, hated them for what they did to Gray Fox's body. But it was me who crippled him in the first place. She must have hated me too.
"Snake... had a hard life.... He needs some time to rest." (I had Man tears during that)

I cried when this started when i arrived in shadow moses on mgs 4

Damn you menendez
Me to bro, when I heard the words "Colonel, this is Snake" or "A surveilance camera?" I was unable to play. This is game of my life.
Same here, and the time between the first time I ever played a MGS game and the time I played MGS4 is 2 weeks...
Me to i just love metal gear bro
Got to love the surveillance camera, it waits for Snake to come back before it collapses
I had the exact same feeling. Im crying now

English version lyrics
Do you remember love
Love from a tormented heart
Not fleeting, as with music at night
But an eternal love
Now tainted
Now tainted
Go now and reclaim it
Go now and love
Recall the times
when you were happy.
Recall the times
when you laughed.
Life is wonderful
Do you have faith in it?
Turn your face to life,
To eternal joy.
What happened to those days?
What happened to those nights?
Do you remember
How you turned to grief? Do you remember
How you turned to sorrow?
Is the blame mine or ours?
Our feelings grew faint
What caused our grief and fighting?
Can there be beauty in life?
If you seek it out.
Can there be happiness in life?
Let's seek it.
ouch all these years and this song speaks not to my past happy self but to my current future self…
Legendary decade old youtube comment actually commenting the right lyrics instead of the bs people parrot as being the lyrics that are totally wrong.
"You must be crazy to fly a hind in this weather"
"Who's that?"
"This is mei ling, she will in charge of recording data for your mission"
"It's nice to meet you snake."
I didn't think an analyst could be so pretty...
In China they said
*Salutes *
A Hind D...
None of my friends understand what I felt when I came back to Shadow Moses :/ I think it's a feeling that only us, who played mgs for years, can understand :')
You are right, only we who lived those moments understand these sensations
Believe me I learned English from this game, it's a living history that lives within every player of us
Cristina Gaspar tu lo has dicho cris
I cried every time i'm back to this place , MGS is a piece of art ... Kojima Effects
Well duh, who else would care?
my point of the childhood, thanks God ive´em
it's weird how a game can make you feel so much xD
ada wong This game made me feel feels
+TMALATERALUS wow..you just said exactly my thoughts..
I can’t believe it’s been 22 YEARS!
Listening to this makes it feel like yesterday... nostalgia
The MGS series had one of the best soundtracks of all time.
am i the only one who thought that revisitng Shadow Moses after all this time both in game time and real time was a brilliant design choice or that it was my favorite level in the game?
Judging by how much people got tears in their eyes from only a surveillance camera breaking, I'd say you're among friends here
Pure fucking genius!! Took us all back to our preteen to teen years. #MGS4ever#1998
I wanna go back soooo bad. but alas it will never be.
maxforce
imagine repalying MGS1 with the Fox Engine.
+gninja92 imo it's perfect enough the way it is, remastering it would probably ruin a few things
Solid Snake can't be wrong. Even when we're in our hardest battle, we must know that the best is yet to come. Thank you Snake
5Sush0 He's the beast created by man,the one who deserved to die is Major Zero and the Patriots
solid snake did not die, guess you have not watched til the very end! it would be cruel for them to let a legend die.
+habz mahkz It's confirmed he only had a year left to live so by MGR he would have been dead 3 years
+habz mahkz he's dead, the legend it's over, he lived as a man in his last days
Solid Snake was always my hero, despite what he said about himself.
TurbanatorGamer :'-) I feel u bro
TurbanatorGamer my uncle brought me to the mgs way I learned everything from him it's nice to remember how he was training me :'-)
The best is yet to come - MGS1
MGS2
MGS3
MGS4
Kojima wasn't kidding.
The best was certainly brought.
Raiden is now the protagonist (again) and has his own game. I'm not a Raiden fan myself, but he certainly surpassed himself.
***** 3>1>4>2!
I think the "MGS4 has too many cutscenes" argument is not very good. Watch the cutscenes to appreciate the story and the themes. However, the game is meant to be played multiple times, so that each time through the player is better and better at the game. All it takes is a button press to skip a cutscene.
***** "the whole point"? I wonder about that...
***** Is that all?
This part is a master piece. Listening the best is yet to come, and on every step hearing flashbacks from mgs1..... "A survillance camera?"
"A Surveillance Camera?"
*Falls over and breaks*
A Tear?
Falls off my cheek and hits the floor
Hot Boy Malik ❤️

Snake may not be a hero, but one thing is certain, he is my hero.
just finished mgs 4 yesterday and man what a game
+Senpai Wrench I played MGS1 for the first time too in October 2015, and MGS4 in March 2016. Too much nostalgia
+Senpai Wrench So did I except I had it spoiled for me before hand by a friend Still was so emotional
+thegui999 well put my friend
This song is my favorite when i go visit my moms grave i sit with a cigarette listening to a time when i had everything in my life before i lost all the people in my life from my mother to my fiance now i sit under clouds that never seem to stop raining..
Fuck man
I wish things were better
The only game that make me cry
Who else cried when they heard this theme for the first time in years when you played MGS4 in 2008?!
A decade*
My controller was falling down cause my rattling hands
me
MGS1 will always be my favorite. You can't take that classic feeling away from it.
God.... I was 7... I could only imagine the nostalgia of those that grew up with the original MGS.
6 years old I was playing the demo of this game.... hits though
i wasnt even born yet
i was 14 and had never been more excited for a release. i read thr three page 10/10 review countless times and played the demo to death. my favourite game of all time.
Yeah 🙂👍🐍
Things that keep me going during this pandemic, reminding me of the great times i had growing up and took for granted
I've made it through ! And so did my family! "Kept you waiting huh?"
Hope all of you are doing good :D
Stay safe.
If u ddnt cry when u listen it plaiyng on Shadow Moses u not a real fan of MGS
just epic...no words
I have plenty of nanomachines to control my emotions so...
So true. I wasn't ready for it at all, the retro throwback scene on the heli and then the music creeping in...i cried like a bitch.
*are not
and that's not true, not everyone can be fully engaged by an experience... (spoilers) but I cried in the ending when I thought snake killed himself
Smithtainment They're making two new Metal Gears with snake in it. Ground Zero's And Phantom Pain :D
chills and tears abound, friends.
!
This is good, isn't it?
"This is Snake I'm in front of the disposal facility."
Its amazing how much love there is towards this game out there. This game has been around for so long that ive stopped being attracted towards all the shooting and action as a kid to me being attracted to the characters and the story the MGS saga has to tell, as an adult. truely a remarkable game. and the shadow moses moment, words cannot describe.
unable to play when you have tears in the eyes :')
it is actually in Gaeilge lol
but the translation is quite simple
Do you remember love
Love from a tormented heart
Not fleeting, as with music at night
But an eternal love
Now tainted
Now tainted
Go now and reclaim it
Go now and love
Recall the times
when you were happy.
Recall the times
when you laughed.
Life is wonderful
Do you have faith in it?
Turn your face to life,
To eternal joy.
What happened to those days?
What happened to those nights?
Do you remember
How you turned to grief? Do you remember
How you turned to sorrow?
Is the blame mine or ours?
Our feelings grew faint
What caused our grief and fighting?
Can there be beauty in life?
If you seek it out.
Can there be happiness in life?
Let's seek it.
XD
got to be one of the greatest ending songs/video's i ever saw in a game!! loved it when you saw the wolves playing together aswell at end of mgs 1!!!
This is good.... isn't it?
A Hind D?!!! Colonel... What's a Russian Gunship doing here?
:)
Wow. He must be crazy to fly a hind in this kind of weather.
dafuq happened to A,B and C.....Big Boss?
I never thought a youtube commenter could be so...cute
KeithRose You're just flattering me.
This series led me through tough times, I love MGS and it’s characters
Even though I had just gotten into the series by the time MGS4 came out, it was still magical when I got to this part of the game. In fact, MGS4 was the first game I had for PS3 when I got it for my 16th birthday.
Same here. I got MGS4 in summer 08 when I was 13, and it is one of the best PS3 games I've ever played. In addition, I bought the three previous games and beat them all in one season in backwards order. Awesome experience to spend your whole summer break on before going back to school =)
These are such the feel moments aha
I can't believe only as a child hearing of my brother's friend having Mgs1 and we had a ps1 so eventually obtained it.
Then my brother having his own ps3 at times we didn't have internet connection or much games, but my first game for ps3 was Mgs4 oh my he used to get mad as fuq for me playing it so long lmao
dude i love your comments haha

RIP Solid Snake. :'(
+Yanis Zerarga Naked Snake and Big Boss are the same person.
+Yanis Zerarga Venom Snake was "Big Boss" in the first Metal Gear.
I didn't cry, but I was super hyped when this happened. The nostalgia of it all hit me hard.
Huh. Overhead view... just like old times.
It gave me chills, snake's ageing process reminded of when I was younger and played the first mgs
A video game series that taught me more about humanity than I learned from people
When I replayed this beautiful scene..Ill admit..I cried...especially when Master Miller chimed in...pure nostalgia moment for me
I'm so glad I didn't look up playthroughs before playing. When I walked onto the helipad at the start of act 4 chills ran through my body.
The only use of the iPad in the game for me too, to listen to this in any act.
D': *sniff sniff*
Time to play MGS4 once more.
i remember i played my first metal gear game when i was 8, memories are amazing
I've lived in Alaska a long time...but it's never looked so beautiful. The sky, the sea, the caribou...and most of all...you
HIDEO KOJIMA + SONY = A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN!
Thank you for living! Life is beautiful!
But you are forgetting that Sony is a shit in our mouths...
+ariel sharpe???
The song. It says "Sony is a shit in our mouths", if you listen carefully.
when I got in Shadow Moses in mgs4
my head flashed
and suddenly
I was seeing my first gameplay of the original mgs
the grafics, the music EVERYTHING was like old times
and when I heard that flashback...
I cried a lot
it was like reviving my fucking childhood man
MGS1 WILL NEVER DIE!
Metal Gear Solid Remake on ps5 !!! 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞
It's best to wait for MGS remake where they will keep the same music and same voice acting from original without using same gameplay mechanics from previous MGS games.
goodbye Snake :<
you've been a big part of my life
thank you for the inspiration
It's even more painful to realize that this franchise died with Kojima's departure.
This will definitely play at my funeral. The most beautiful song I ever heard. Not "I've ever heard" - nothing will surpass this.
RIP Security Camera. You were the first of many, but you won't be forgotten.
It's been soo many years since the last time i listened to this masterpiece 😔 it carries so much feelings and memories 💔
I miss you as much as my childhood
💔
Oh getting back to the island after a decade of playing the original. The nostalgia. A moment to remember for the rest of my life. Enough that it may be one of the memory flashes at the end of my life.
Snake, I asked an active-duty army officer once - if an infantryman had to take on a tank one-on-one, how should he do it?
"And? What was his answer?"
"Don't. He swore there was no way in hell a single infantryman could be able to take down a tank by himself.... You're the toughest, craziest, most hardcore badass on the planet! You're...the shit!"
Solid snake was the only one who set off with us on one last mission
"Excellent snake, Age hasn't slowed you down one bit"
"This is Snake. I'm in front of the disposal facility."
Excellent Snake, age hasn't slowed you down
Cannot describe emotions while hearing this song and playin mgs... this history started when i had ps1... was it 15 years ago?
Thanks kojima, konami.
It even had rations and ammo in the same place the original did, this was perfect but I'm sad we didn't get to see the rest
I just finally got a chance to replay MGS4 for the first time since it came out and the feels were much stronger for me this time around
How does a Surveillance Camera dropping to the ground have me in tears?
That was so epic to revisit the place again.
"Just Like Old Times"
The pain is unbearable. Listening to this song fills me with emotion
Ismail Abu Hayyeh THE PAIN!!
Sebastián Maldonado The PHANTOM pain?
No the bee guy..
Sebastián Maldonado Dr. bees?
Freaking 2nd boss of metal gear 3
Never thought I would be sad about the death of a surveillance camera
This song brought a tear to my eye ,because it brought back so many memories ,not just of the game ,but memories of when MGS 1 came out ,I was in my early twenties ,my parents were still alive ,life goes so quick :(
lordofbore aw dude :(....*hugs*
I just have visited shadow moses in my first playthrough in metal gear solid 4 on ps3 super slim.. man after playing mgs1,2,3 it felt like i came back to my old city where i grew up. Idk how to describe this feeling maybe...nostalgia?
Thumbs up if you think this game was so much better then MGS5
By far it's not even close. The closest thing to MGSV is COD "story wise".
Eagle_66 there was a Mgs V ? I did play someting with that name but i did’t feel like a Mgs game
You can't compare 4 to 5 you fools.
Kojima put his heart and soul into MGS 4 and rushed the shit out of MGS 5 because he wanted to quit and had beef with Konami. That's why.
It was sad seeing the rusty base with the audio flashbacks and changed parts
Anyone sad that this franchise died? It was so good.
It's currently stopped. Maybe it can be brought back?
@@filipeflower by Kojima not by Konami you know what he does Konami ruins our childhood to the dirt and now we’re the Phantom....
@@jaheim123 That's unfortunately true...

@@jaheim123 But maybe the fans can do something about it?
mother of god this brings a tear to my eye everything, thank you
I've said it a million times before...
When the survaillence Camera fell to ground couple tears falled😥
