    This happened to me twice in the last 12 years...they stole a couple work trucks and about $5k in materials. It hurts at the time, but you can write off losses, so there is that.

    5:00 the bringing services in house thing is interesting, because I used to work for a typical large-ish company who was obsessed with outsourcing everything, and all the staff can see it just doesn't make sense. You lose control over quality, speed and cost all in one go. Amazon is the most prominent exception to outsourcing, they love to in-source everything, as illustrated by them developing their own delivery network in the last few years, only using 3rd party couriers as backups. By bringing services inhouse, they brought in accountability, reduced costs, and improve control by tightly integrating the the newly created service with the rest of the company's systems.

    Really suggest getting prevention consultant too look over your whole business to look for opportunities like trackers and other loss prevention. This is something i do as a consultant, and you will be amazed how many business are loosing money some without even any knowledge. Trusting your team is good but this is a good way to ensure and keep everyone on their toes. Hope this helps some people.

    I love the way you have invested in physical stuff rather than an being a platform aggregator. My first thoughts are that nothing is a ‘ moat’ , the margins are thin,and, it’ll take a stack of marketing to create volume. I’m very impressed that you can take the headaches, frustrations and knocks. To be frank it’s not something I’d thrive in at all. I would not even enter your sectors because it’s complete hassle. You enjoy it. I don’t.

      Most such things that get stolen get left somewhere for 24 hours in case they’re tracked. That way they know if they’re tracked or not, you won’t catch the thieves therefore but you’ll get your kit back and it’ll only be too far away at that point.

So I know Rossi Ice Cream, that must be open on New Years Eve and New Years Day, it amazes me how many people go for a walk passed the Westcliff Arches, Rossi who buy a Ice Cream, even if it's freezing cold. People like to get out and have a wonder around. Sorry to hear about your theft, horrible for any business or homeowner to get broken into. They think, it's ok, it will be paid by the Insurance Co, don't realise premiums will go up, as you say, getting the money together to buy or lease another one. Stress factor, sleepless nights. James - have you thought about not doing such spam-click-bait titles for your videos? This video was fascinating - your investment/running marsh farm could be a tv series - it’s that good. But it’s hidden behind these “You won’t believe!” style video titles I’d never click on.

    • @JamesSinclairEntrepreneur
      @JamesSinclairEntrepreneur  5 месяцев назад +2

      We get a much bigger click through on these titles. We use tools to help us.
      We put a video up with a nice positive title, no clicks. Change it to negative and as you put it more “cliff hanger” and the clicks then come.
      Very annoying.
      Ask any newspaper editor if positive or negative headlines get the clicks/sales.
      Later this year RUclips is allowing split tests on thumbnails and headlines so we will try again.

    To keep elder kids & more importantly big kids like us engaged with theme park you could try something similar to lego land where they have a shop/store to buy items from upon entrance/exit. Maybe get a license from hasbro UK to stock & sell jurassic park toys or similar. Perhaps even dinosaur themed pins each year & maybe seasonal collectors pins. People love to collect stuff like that. Unreal what some Butlins & Disney pins go for on the secondary market.
