- I try to answer the question of WHY Turn 10 made such a bad game. Sorry my Mic sucks. I will try to get a better one, but sometimes you just have to go with whatcha got.

There's absolutely no way it took them 6 years. I reckon they saw the GT7 trailer in June of 2020, panicked because they put Forza MS on hiatus because of how hard it had tanked since FM4, and rushed out a CGI trailer a month later... Then scrambled to make a game in 3 years

I agree. It's like what I felt when games started transitioning and becoming more cash grabs over a decade ago. Most ppl who make games now aren't GAMERS. They may play games....and love games...but aren't GAMERS. With that being said....the care and attention to detail and the good ideas to make certain things better just aren't there.

Finally a video that hits the actual reason for the downfall in quality. Not only in video games.
the ai you see braking and offtracking for no reason is because they mix the skills in the grid so the max ai difficulty stay in the front and the lower stay in the back, this is why you could pass 15 cars in the first corner and the first car disappears and becomes unbeatable, it's actually the same on every forza and GT, but turn10 overhyped the ai upgrade, every decision made for this game was a bad idea, there is nothing they could do to make it for this mess, forza has always been my #1 favorite simulator but it seems like FM4 was the best they could do and from there they kept destroying the franchise.
Forza needs a new team. Throw some car people in there too not just engineers

@@jackjon7763 Diversity should be encouraged in the workplace, and I will never understand people who use traits like sexual orientation, race, gender identity, etc. as a weapon to discriminate. I agree with your point to a degree, but the root cause of the issue is not diversity.
There are a lot of bad decisions that were made from management, and I have faith that the developers are doing the best they can with the resources they are given. Toxic workplace culture, poor management, and inadequate planning/resources in development are far more likely.

For instance, because a company needs to hire a certain percentage of blacks, women, LGBT etc., they end up overlooking a more qualified applicant for the job just to meet the "diversity quota". That's the very definition of racism, bigotry, misandry, etc. because diversity quotas incentivize hiring based on color and not the content of character.
A true society that doesn't discriminate shouldn't even see color. They hire based on whether a person is right for the job.

They will never hand out bans because 11-15 year old kids are a big part of their purchasing base, and unfortunately a lot of these young kids go online for the purpose of ramming people. My son has friends in school in this age group that play Forza and GT. He said most of his friends think it’s funny to do. Console titles will always be a problem online because of this. Banning them means pushing out a big part of their market.
Don’t just blame the kids. I have a 38 year old friend who loves to wreck people purposefully too. Just pathetic.
This is the first video that I have watched of yours, and I have a few points of criticism.
1. Your mic sounds awful. It's clipping and sounds like it's in your mouth... I skipped past this and gave the video a watch since you're a smaller RUclipsr.
2. I thought you made some good points early on with the video. You started off with some good feedback, and valid criticisms. You addressed some of my concerns with the AI, levelling mechanics, and multiplayer issues.
3. When you devolved into a political rant at the end, I cringed hard. All I heard was, "M$ went woke! Screw DEI initiatives!" You are basically spouting conspiracy nonsense and conservative talking points.

Yep, it is the worst thing they have put out so far. They need to fire everyone who said it was "built from the ground up", or has participated in saying they have fixed bugs, and they still exist.
I'm a multiplayer only driver, I have a rating of 4,995 and safety of S and it feels like none of that gets taken into consideration when I join a lobby. Nobody seems to care about racing fairly, and that rating therefore does nothing. That's my biggest problem honestly..
The problem with diversity hires is not only do you get an inferior result, but those who earned what they got can be looked at like they may have been handed the position because of their race, ethnicity, gender, etc. If we hired by merit only, there'd be no raised eyebrows concerning anyone's success.

Good video. Except I'm pretty sure most companies know that customer dollars are more important than investor dollars at the end of the day. I think it's mostly due to the huge job cuts in IT over the past few years, and outsourcing to cheaper labour.
I do quite a bit of Hot Lapping and like to challenge myself on the Leaderboards so I am still playing it. I finally realized though in it's current state this isn't really a "Game" per se. Currently Forza Motorsport is really just a collection cool cars, with a collection of cool tracks to drive them on.
I paid $35 for the bonus car pack on game pass, and that was a waste of money. I’ve never ran into so many glitches in a racing game, let alone a first party title. I’ve played it back to back to GT7 and I just don’t like the physics engine in Forza either, which is the main point people like about it. The career mode is boring, the leveling sucks, the ray tracing is a joke, especially when you compare that actual game to the prerelease footage. That level of detail isn’t even achievable in the PC version. I’m just really disappointed with this game, and Xbox as a whole. First party games should be the best of the best, but Xbox has a management problem. Game pass is amazing, just not for the first party stuff. lol bummer. Hi-Fi Rush is my GOTY but that’s an exception, not the rule. God I hope Hellblade 2 turns out ok.

Car leveling would be fine if they didn't force you to switch car class/division every week. It's very hard to jump into this game, you need to spend 2or 3 nights to be ready for a class and then it just rotates to D class or P class and I quit again.
The single player is like watching paint dry, between the bugs, the shit AI, and the sheer monotony of the campaign I actually kind of dread unlocking season pass reward cars... pretty sure I missed one already, thanks turn 10. How hard is it to have an engaging zero to hero single player campaign? GranTurismo 2 did this shit.
Still has an awful memory leak leading to crazy frame drops (until you pause the game???).
Safety score means absolutely nothing to the matchmaking algo.
Collision penalties seem to be applied by the 'blind drivers' they marketed the game to for some reason (it's the blind leading the blind at Turn 10).
They cut half the FM7 car roster and yet still didn't balance the game in the slightest.
They cut so many tracks and layouts, there isn't even a test track!
I updated my machine for this game. I was a die hard FM7 player. Fuck Turn 10 and fuck Microsoft!

As someone who played Forza on OG Xbox and Xbox 360 it's just sad to see how bad Forza is now.
Halo Infinite, Redfall, Starfield and Forza to me are all games that should have been AAA / you wanna buy an Xbox for these games and yet all of them released buggy and in an unacceptable state.

I get what you're saying about investment and business climate, but I don't think Microsoft and T10 set out to make a great game like most people expect. Based on the outcome, it looks like MS and T10 set out to make a game (or really just a fancy demo) that provides minimal input with hopeful maximum profit. Unless they actually provide features rather than just ongoing rollout of different track for different cars it is all just more of the same. It feels like this game was completely influenced by CoVid personnel shortages, etc. Clearly right now I surmise FM was designed with minimal content, easy ongoing maintenance, and management crossing their fingers for success. Unsurprisingly this questionable logic combined with minimal effort and resources to actually create a real game has fallen flat for most people. Just for perspective I have played every Forza game since Forza Motorsport 2.

They made it worse too by forcing people to level up each and every car they choose. This was the reason it took me 10 days to finish the game instead of 2 days.

The first forza motorsport I almost immediately uninstalled after first race. They fucked it up.
Worst Forza Motorsport ever, nearly everything about it is worse than previous versions. These publishers need to start taking note of gamers opinions, because without us there are no games period.
I also think Games Pass should share some of the credit for these first party titles that are released to a sub par level. Let's face it, if this wasn't on GP, it would tank as far as sales are concerned 😕 Games Pass effectively gives devs the remit to throw out crap knowing that the gamers dollar (via GP subscriptions) is safe in the bag 😡
I disagree. Game Pass only provides value if there are good games available on it. Game Pass also removes the incentive for annual or semi annual releases because subscriptions are continuous instead of based on release. This is what largely enables longer development cycles which should allow for better games to be made with more significant improvements.
Somehow Forza took 6 years and produced this, so obviously longer development cycles dont necessarily mean a better game is produced.
I got solid pc recently and partially it was for forza horizon 5 which is great lets be honest here, probably the best arcade racer there is. I tried this and was shocked at how ass it is. I thought it would’ve had the cockpit view that gran turismo has that makes it look almost life like.
A work colleague got it and he was gutted, He hated it and has never played it since. Think I dodged a bullet. I'll stick with GT Sport.🏴
the cockpit camera being placed so differently car to car drives me insane too 🤦♂️. My overall experience was ok to begin with but it got worse over time not better. Oh well maybe they get it eight next time.

This actually sheds some light on why I'm disappointed. It makes so much sense now! Turn 10 wants to make investors happy and not us as the gamers! I'm actually shocked I didn't think of it myself.
Anyway whats done is done. I'm glad I never bought FM but coming from FH4, FM7 and FH5 I was sad to hear that FM was a complete let down. but at the same time I'm glad because it pushed me towards proper sim racing which Assetto Corsa and ACC provide.
Anyway I 100% agree with your take on things. for me it's RIP FM.
Trailer looks awesome but the gameplay is the worst. This game needs a lot of fixing to do. Graphics are washed out and it looks nothing like the trailer before launching the game. So many bugs and glitches have ruined this game. Let’s hope this franchise doesn’t die in the future.

Very sad how BAD this game is. 60 max fps - no triple screen support - terrible CPU/GPU utilization - just so bad. And the AI is HORRID.
As a controller player I have to say I disagree with you saying the brakes feel better, for me the braking is the worst I've ever seen and I've been playing since FM4. I feel like this new engine that they keep touting is behind a lot of the issues in this game.

I have played all the games in the Forza series and I can say that this was the worst. in career mode there is really nothing to play +20 hours and everything played through. too few tracks to be able to play again.. I deleted the game and installed Motorsport 7 again🤷♂
fm7 was so good.... so many hours on that one! FM has never been about single player. i would have been happy for a FM7 reboot. wheres all the tracks man

Even if you have enough points, if you have the "too many saves" error, you will not be able to download or apply any tunes, because you will get a "network error", followed by a soft lock. Way to go Turn10.

After 8 years my last Motorsport I owned was 6 and I had so much fun on that game I expected this Motorsport to be 10x better and nope it blew my mind away on how many steps they took back and boy did I get upset. I’ll start off with how many tracks on here are not on this game is mind blowing how they removed more than multiple great tracks is angering knowing that you have to continue to race the same old boring tracks especially not having Nurburgring. Second comparing the driveatar or shall I say A.I. are clueless no competition at all whatsoever I’d expect it to be very hard but they don’t give you that competition that one expects for them to give you or giving you a hard time but nope. 3rd I’d expect more JDM vehicles but all they really have is more super cars/german vehicles, American muscle. 4th another thing CP is ridiculous especially having to rank up on different vehicles instead of giving you the freedom to upgrade any part or any vehicle you want instead of having to unlock multiple things just blew my mind how bad this game is. 5th at last car sounds are flattered dog 💩
It's okay. Just gotta get past the shitty graphics, ai, forced practice run, horrible optimization, and boring gameplay.
So I stopped buying them after FM6, I feel like they peaked at FM4. At this point it looks like they have a mandate from Microsoft to try and make a version GT7 on Xbox, and try to drive engagement(playtime) and micro transactions (profit). I don’t like the concept of FH franchises which are car sandboxes which have no competitive element, but they are very polished games which are no doubt making huge money and driving massive engagement on Microsoft platforms and I eventually got them in fire sales or with game pass cheap enough to justify, and have spent time in these games. Ideally I would like Microsoft to get behind someone other than T10 to develop a new platform for racing on Xbox because T10 do not have the vision of what the game could be. If I was to develop the next racing game I would stop trying to increase solo grinding in game because it is pretty much hated by gamers at this point. You need to give easy access to game assets but create value though good solo and online experience. I would target three main types of engagement 1 online/solo competitive racing. This mode needs fair rules and lobbies for online and good AI for solo and a good selection of tracks. It also needs realistic classes of race cars that race well together and have plenty of options in each class or series. No point putting a series for V8 supercar when you only have one V8 supercar model in game. 2 simulation level drift events. Basically copy and improve all modes from carX game and include that. CarX has good experience and good engagement… devs could basically steal their player base by copying their approach to tracks and competition drifting with zones and scoring instead of basic counter systems used in FH5/FM6. 3 a great rivals system with online scoreboards like the old FM4 boards would be a great addition. Not just scoreboards for each track you could expand to scoreboards for each class, each series or whatever just do more scoreboards and have some sort of reward system tied to scoreboards, in game credits or exclusive cars. Lastly the painting and modifications/customisation of cars is already pretty good in these games but the shopfront feature should return where players can create a selection of tuned/painted and customised cars and offer their best 10/20 creations in one place and cut down the amount of garbage paint jobs clogging servers, if your creation doesn’t meet a certain minimum number of downloads in certain time period it’s instantly removed from online paint suggestions. We all know trying to endlessly improve the 3d models is just a peeing contest between Sony and Microsoft and this constant over investment in the models is a waste of time, personally I don’t care about textures of leather seats in a car game it has literally no value once you start playing, shaders and lighting are great and yes it is cool to have a good looking replay or photo of in game cars but the most important thing is handling model and frame rate.

I agree, Forza has lost their way. Horizon 5 was ok but not as good as 4 and Horizon 2 was the best in my opinion. Regular Forza lost me at 6 when 7 was basically thr same but with newer cars.
Tats why I still Play Forza Horizon 5 on Series X and Gran Turismo 7 on PS5

If a Company is going to Hire me, I want it because it is something I am good at, like Selecting the Car List (as, unlike some in the Studio, I can tell a 1J from a 2J just from the Exhaust note, while they would not know the Difference if you clonked them on the Shins with the Crank Journals! who, i their right mind, chooses a Mid Level 2.0 GT over the Overlooked Hero that is the 2.5 Twin Turbo R for the A-70? ) and not because of a Political Correctness Checkbox!
Companies, like MS, need to Stop using Vanguard and Black Rock for their 401K because their Agenda Forcing is causing the Hiring of Incompetent Employees and Clueless Project leads who care more about "pronouns" (Do Not even get me Started on those or you are in for a Literal, Actual, Sermon (I also do not hide being an Extremely conservative Reformed Christian) on that one!) than making a Game a Fun Game and not a FOMO Chore Chart Job! and downright Broken Games, and it will be the Death of Gaming.
They need to either get their 401K's from Companies that align with conservative Values so they can Hire based on Meritocracy (the Guy who cosplays as a 1980's Cyberman (as anyone who does that is going to be a massive Nerd! and this is coming from a Massive Nerd!) is the Greatest Map Designer the Games industry has ever seen) and not on Checkbox Ticking (The woman who would not know a Festival Site from a Player House is a Person from an "Oppressed Minority"! what even is one of those? If you never played GT before, GT7 is a good purchase. It's been my go to after work game bc its very relaxing and immersive.
I have hundreds of hours in GT7 it is a magnum opus of racing games. FM8 is a joke. Absolutely. I have both.

I play GT7 almost daily and I love it. With a wheel and psvr2 it’s just unequaled. I was super let down with FM8.
As a big GT fan, I hated GT7 when it first cam out. It's improved a lot, but the career structure is still not great

I'm really enjoying the game so far, but i got from game pass so it was free. I think the game lacks a lot of content for the price they are charging, the career mode is lackluster and the online mode is pure chaos, I've had just one lobby where everyone was racing like a human being. I really love the driving physics, it's far better than Forza Motorsport 6. For the more experienced players it is a big let down. Also the engine sounds are just awful, every car is so silent and lack the "oomph" factor. They should've borrowed Forza Horizon's 5 sound system.
My biggest issue is the AI. The top five run on rails, don’t fight for position and run away from the rest of the pack. The racing up front doesn't engage or immerse. The AI is lazy programming
I bought this, got 25 mins of trying to play it but it wouldn't run on my system, apparently you need more than an 8gb graphics card

To me, one of the weirdest things is how on earth does Horizon 5 look amazing graphically, yet FM looks like shit? The whole "Built from the ground up" thing was BS. At the very least, all you had to do was take what you built with H5 and just break it down into good old fashion simple ass circuit racing (which is what people actually want) Improve the physics a bit, and call it a day....I mean CHRIST....
They want so badly to compete with Gran Turismo. But they'll never even get close with the current business model they runnin' over there.
GT ain't perfect but damn at least they got the bare necessities dialed in perfect : Let people Race in cars they want to race in, on tracks they want to race on, good physics, good graphics. done deal.

Totally agre with you friend! looks really prety but that's it1 It don't have soul the color are death. If you compare it with GRID, you can see and feel the big difference. Also do't have any Track that you don't see before. That's nothing new or spectacular on the track I fell them very, very boring. Grettings from dallas Tx.
Sorry for everyone who wasted so much money. I havent purchased it but was wanting to after taking a long hiatus from the series. FM1- FM4 i played religously, and at the time were the best racing games you could get. I guess ill be sticking to AC for now
I’m glad it was on gamepass because after 30 mins I uninstalled the graphics are trash and the game is trash if I gave full price for this game I would have been so mad

I agree. Bought a new graphics card and this game drags ass at anything past 1080p medium. 1440p runs like ass.
Grand Turismo 7 is still one the best Sim Racing experiences for Console users.
Sorry, XBox failed all you who have dedicated yourselves to XBox. Maybe time to make the switch to Playstation. The PS5 Pro will be coming next year.

As a big GT fan, GT7 was pretty disappointing, but it has improved a lot in the past year... But as someone who dips into Forza MS from time to time, I feel really bad for Xbox players having to suffer through this FM downward spiral. If anyone reading this has been a loyal xbox player, I'd strongly suggest you try out GT7. Maybe don't buy a PS5, because Sony are greedy scumbags, but maybe find a relative or friend with it, and give it an honest try.

the game is bad cause Turn 10 wanted everyone to be able to play the game. accessible to more people = more players. this is what they thought. but pleasing everyone can never work.
the penalty, assuming you get one cause it's so inconsistent, is so low cause if it's 2 sec and 4 sec this will make people angry and stop playing. the majority of those that play Forza are not sim pro that play Iracing and other sim. they're normies, and if you put penalties that are too much they will quit. that's why the penalty is like a slap on the wrist compared to an actual sim game.
