Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to you and your girlfriend as well that you had to experience that. I understand your girlfriend's feelings as It's kind of hard to have fun when such a tragedy happens (and in such close proximity). Best of luck to you guys!
Agreed, that really seems like the best way to handle it. For the people who did still want to continue on with their vacation, they can do that, and use the future cruise credit to reschedule any excursions that may have gotten cancelled. It is really a tragedy what happened though and I also understand if people don’t feel that they want to cruise this ship again as maybe that could trigger something in someone that they’d rather not think about on vacation - also totally valid.
She was a good friend to me and so happy to be on this cruise. Thank you for being respectful in this. She was bright, successful, a big Pittsburgh sports fan, a blackbelt, she golfed she loved to travel. Her heart was too big and she was an extremely kind, generous and thoughtful friend. One of a kind. A firecracker, beautiful redhead.

So sad. On one of my trips on Allure of the Seas a gentleman took his own life (he left a note) and jumped overboard. We were all mustered to account for every one. If I can survive depression, abuse, and so on, so can you. It takes thinking about things differently. To really win against depression, it takes getting the right vitamins and minerals from a Functional medicine point of view and seeing one of the top functional medicine clinics that specialize in mental health! Why? Sometimes that depression is caused in addition by heavy metal toxicity we did not know we had. Sometimes its caused by PTSD. Sometimes we were just born this way and simply need to get better tools to fight it and get rid of it. Sometimes what we need it better mind games with ourselves, to rise us over the depression hump. It also takes getting rid of vices because those vices only make the depression worse. Sometimes it really takes getting the right religion in us - aka Y'Shua-Jesus and trusting in Him instead of vices and foolish people and foolish ideas that are all around us. Sometimes just simply getting out into nature every week and hiking just helps. I've done all of this, except pay for a functional medicine therapist. However, if I would have done that instead of the traditional approach, I would have been so much better faster, because they deal with both the mind and the body. I convinced my dad to pay for Functional doctor and that helped me overcome what traditional could not do for me. I no longer suffer from depression. I have Shaken Baby Syndrome, PTSD and learned to live with who I am with little friends and little support. I used to be in your shoes. I am a survivor. I tell myself the only way I can live and win, is if I strive and insist that I will live! The best revenge is to live a life better than the fools around you! During a November sailing with RC a passenger tried to commit suicide in the cabin near ours. The captain turned around and went back to port. The only thing we as passengers were told is we are heading back to port and will be on our way soon. Our cabin Stuart filled in the information, he was nervous and scared. It was extremely sad and the wife of the passenger was very upset and she departed with her husband. I’m so great full the gentleman received the help he needed. I’m so sorry y’all had to experience that. Prayers for the family.

This is happening way too often - so very sad. Good of Virgin to offer what they have. Prayers for your sweet girl Lauren as she copes with this as well as those were around the situation.
I agree, I was on a cruise and if something like this happened it would have just killed my vibe for the entire trip. I still would likely stay on the ship if they continued it though... if they were in the cabin next to me I would have got off though... I would not be able to sleep right at night knowing somebody just died right next to me.

I'm sorry you and your girlfriend had to experience this and even more sorry for the woman who passed and her family and friends. Hope you're handling this ok and enjoying your vacation ❤ thanks for the sincere reporting of the situation. I do commend the cruise line for how they handled the situation as well.
This is very sad but I appreciate the way you reported it and impressed with how well the crew handled it for the other passengers. In December I was on an Amtrak train from Seattle to LA that hit someone on the tracks and sadly that person did not survive either. The conductor said they treat it as a crime scene and they can't move until the investigation is complete. That took around 4 hours and Amtrak issued a generous voucher which I thought was a nice gesture for something outside of their control.
Better to announce the truth than let crazy rumors run free. Offering a 100% cruise credit is exceptional. I wouldn't have expected so much. Maybe a 25% cruise credit, at most.
My condolences to the family of the person who passed away. I was on the Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas in January 2020 and a 3rd party contractor jumped overboard and passed away per captain announcements. It was extremely sad. I think you did a phenomenal job with this announcement and video. I applaud Virgin Voyages for offering cruise credits to the passengers.

Wow, having just been onboard yesterday this feels very close… my heart is so sad for everyone onboard, passengers and crew- but especially the victim and her loved ones.
I could be mean but this person isn't a victim she took her own life. And it's kind of sad that the passengers trip and their vacation has been ruined because of something that this person decided to do. I assume that ship wouldn't have turned around but they were so close to home Port they decided to do that I personally would be upset if that happened in my vacation was ruined
@@ericablanton9006 Depression is a disease and for some people it proves to be a terminal illness. If you’ve ever been close to someone who lost their battle with depression, then you would understand why I called her a victim. And yes, it is inconvenient to those who were just try to enjoy vacation- two things can be true, but a life taken can’t be replaced regardless of the cause.
@@vacationvibesofficial thank you. I lost my husband/son’s father years ago after he lost a life long battle with depression and I too consider them victims of mental health crisis. Took me years to get over the anger at him, but I am glad I finally did.

I’m so sorry y’all had to experience that. Prayers for the family.
So sorry you had to experience that. I can’t even imagine the whole vibe of the ship. I’m not sure if I could enjoy myself starting out my vacation like that. Prayers 🙏🏽 for the family.
Thank you as always for your sensitivity to the situation at hand. Hope Lauren enjoyed herself later within the cruise.
This is happening way too often - so very sad. Good of Virgin to offer what they have. Prayers for your sweet girl Lauren as she copes with this as well as those were around the situation.
What do you mean? On other cruises? In general?
@@sophianao4448 in general. I've seen so many stories of suicide recently.
I'm sure it is hard to enjoy a cruise after that. My condolences to the family.
I agree, I was on a cruise and if something like this happened it would have just killed my vibe for the entire trip. I still would likely stay on the ship if they continued it though... if they were in the cabin next to me I would have got off though... I would not be able to sleep right at night knowing somebody just died right next to me.
That is just so sad. Thank you for your sensitivity and reporting of the just the facts. Take care and give your girlfriend an extra big hug today.
You handled this report very respectfully and that is very honourable. Its a very sad situation...and unfortunately these things do happen...hopefully you two can sort your emotions and move forward with your time.....your cruise line did a very good job...Viv
You have been extremely respectful....a very heartwrenching situation........hope all heals
As always, I appreciate the respectful way you cover topics on your channel.
So you have just gained a new subscriber because of all the clips I’ve seen on this tragic incident yours was by far the best, thank you. My heart goes out to that young lady’s friends and family and anyone that had to witness it. I can only imagine what they are going through as well. Again thank you for giving us an awesome update. Wishing you smooth sailings🫶🏾🫶🏾
So sad this woman jumped and felt she had no other recourse but to end her life. It is tragic for her family and friends, for sure. Thank you, J, for talking about this in such a tactful way.
My condolences goes out to that young lady and her family my prayers also go out to each and every last one of you that's on that voyage to try to have the best vacation under the circumstances
Really sad, prayers for love ones 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Thanks for sharing, you did a great job relaying the information. Give Lauren a hug, I would be shaken up too ❤️
You handled the sharing of this sad news respectfully. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
That is so sad that this woman jumped off her balcony! I often think alcohol has a lot do with passengers going over board. It is nice that Virgin is giving you a 100% cruise credit. Carry on and have fun!
See if they allowed cannabis onboard, people would just be chilling on their hammocks not wilding out

Thanks for not being the typical content creator with the camera on your face “reacting”. It speaks volumes about your character.
I’m glad I waited to hear what you reported about the tragic event, it’s unsettling how everyone wants to add their views and often tasteless recordings. You always give a considerate and real account. Sorry you were on the very cruise it happened on hope you were able to enjoy the rest of the time look forward to later updates
Thank you for covering this. I’ve only been on one cruise and I felt like we became one big community on the ship. I can’t imagine how this felt to hear about and see. My condolences to the family and friends.
Such an unfortunate and sad situation. My condolences to that woman's family.
I applaud Virgin Voyages for offering cruise credits to the passengers.
thanks for sharing RIP to this lady and supporting kind thoughts to the loved ones
Prayers to the family. So sad that someone would take their own life. 🙏🙏
I really appreciate how you provided the information. Found your channel recently and I love your videos.
Thanks for the update. I'm sorry to you and your girlfriend that you had to experience that. I understand your girlfriend's feelings as well. It's kind of hard to have fun when such a tragedy happens (and in such close proximity). Best of luck to you guys!
I love Cozumel too…such a sad situation but very generous of cruise line and also they handled it well.
Sorry that you had to deal with that. Glad Virgin is giving everyone 100% future cruise credit. Please try to enjoy the rest of your cruise! Praying for peace of mind 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
This is heartbreaking. Prayers to the family.
That's so sad and unfortunate, but the captain sounded very sincere and caring. Very good video
This is so sad, my condolences to her family!!!! Kudos to Virgin Voyages for taking care of the other passengers.
Life is fragile and we must enjoy it. 💜🙏
Heartbreaking for the family and friends of the woman who lost her life. I do think it was generous of Virgin to give a 100% future cruise credit. I feel for the folks who balcony overlooked the tragedy too.
Condolences to the family. The captain’s announcement, was very well done. Also them giving another cruise for free.
Condolences to her love ones! Thank you for sharing, J... Traveling Grace!
🌈💚💒happy Easter 2023! Much love to you! I am very sorry for this loss♥️
I was just reading this in a cruise news paper. I instantly thought of you, bc you're on that cruise right now. Prayers to all of you and to her family!
My condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones 🙏🏽
So sad. Good on Virgin for trying to make the best out of a horrible situation.
Thank you for sharing the story in such a respectful way.
So tragic but your reporting was so respectful. Good job. I read about this on tmz and their coverage was definitely lacking.
The Captain and cruise line handled this beautifully.
Very sad situation. Sending my deepest condolences to the woman's family. Glad you are okay.
Per usual, well done. You do an excellent job with these sensitive matters. Thank you J.
Hoping you guys have been able to have a nice time on your trip.
My condolences to the family and friends of the poor woman who lost her life. Very sad to hear.
Regardless of how or why it happened, very sad for the woman's family and friends.😢
You would make a good reporter. Excellent job reporting this incident. Thank you.
Very generous of Virgin in a very tragic and sad situation
Virgin handled this situation correctly. I’m glad the passengers get 100% credit. Prayers for this lady and her family. Be kind, you ever know what people are going through.
Try to enjoy the rest of your cruise, I imagine it’s very difficult but you handled putting the info you have out there amazingly. I agree the cruise line is working hard to be sensitive as well as accommodating. My condolences to the loved ones of the person who passed. 🙏🏻🕊️
Condolences to the family and friends of the person who passed away sad to hear this and the Captain who done the announcement who cared about what happened there
Oh wow! How heartbreaking to hear. My condolences to her family and friends. Hopefully they blocked that area off during the cruise. Thank you J for the info.
This is terribly Sad😢, praying for the family and the passengers as they continue cruising.
That is so sad. I definitely understand why some ppl did decide to get off the cruise. That could be something that could just really bring down the mood of a vacation especially for those that may have witnessed it first hand. Condolences to the family.
Thanks for the story. I'm on this ship with you too. Vv has done a great job with us. R.I.P. to the young lady that passed
You were quoted by the Business Insider online news source. Great work! Love your work. Best to you and keep it up.
Whoah! 😮 I once went down the rabbit hole of people who have fallen overboard on cruise ships, that’s actually kind of how I found your channel lol. I think I read on just about every single time somebody has fallen off of a cruise ship at least documented. I can’t believe this happened while you were on board oh my gosh what a crazy thing to have happen on your vacation and yes the only thing that could save my vacation from that point would be that super super generous offer for another free cruise from the cruise line. Again super generous but very appreciated I’m sure. Love your channel and you!
Very well handled announcement by the captain and the cruise line in general for the passengers on board
This is so very sad Jay. The Captains message was well said. It was very kind that the Cruise line returned the ship to Miami and is setting sale again as well as giving everyone a credit. I am sure it has taken the great vibe away.
