I do it for Fun....i absolutely Love This Whole Re- Selling Idea...The Money is A By- Product of My Fun...Fabulous Upload & Perfect Packaging..Cheers Mate ☕️☕️
Lonnie, we loved the Philmont Patch. It’s actually for my father in law as a surprise. Also, it arrived in perfect condition.
OshKosh Box: Generally like you, I use clear tape, but I do keep a few rolls of brown and/or colored eBay tape around and use them on packs like this, to obscure (hide) the old tape and any box info I don't want visible, so it presents a bit better for the buyer when he gets it. In the case o your OshKosh box, colored tape would obscure the end bulges.
I used to buy rolls of blue colored 3" eBay tape, back when they had it at the eBay Branded Shipping Supply store, buy they discontinued it some time back. I liked it for large, used boxes, just to clean up the look. 😉
Yes, now that Standard Envelope has expanded to Patches, Tokens and coins, It would be good to hear more about what you have learned using the envelopes. I don't sell sports cards, so never used them before. Some details on cost, weight range, how to list using that option, how thick an item can be or how large an envelope, etc, would be good. 😉
Cheers Lonnie 😊👍
My brothers both went to Philmont and I can remember thinking how cool those patches were. I also recently discovered the value of boy scout items. I was about to throw out my Eagle (the top rank in boy scouts) medallion, and badge ... but instead I had just seen a flipping video on how valuable both patches are in general, but there was also a mention of boy scout patches, along with military, police, firefirghters, etc. all being valuable. Anyways, I posted my eagle medallion for $75 and it sold in under 10 minutes. I'm still not sure I priced it right, but that was a NICE surprice. Then I ended up selling my eagle badge for around $19/20 and one of the buyers shared with me that I should not clone listings based on what I thought the badge classification was, and he mentioned there was a guide out there. ABout a month later, they mailed me a copy of this guide which explains the differences between a type 1 and type 2 and there are A, B, etc.; variants of each. Anyways, I thought I would share this with you and your followers, as I threw away my entire sash of boyscout badges years earlier and that was likely a mistake. BUt I think the Eagle items are likely the most valuable of the original items you might find. THe eagle award medallion and badge also come in a nice holder, which likely would be even more valuable to sell (I threw mine away). You live and learn!
@@ababababeebababa that’s awesome! A few years back I found a Boy Scout shirt and sash in a closet at an estate sale. It was Sunday, so they were trying to move everything out. The sash had a lot of rare patches on it, a couple of them were aviation related. Also had several medals that were rare, including an eagle medallion similar to what you are talking about. Had to get really deep into the research regarding the types #’s. Well long story short, all told sold everything for about $2000. The estate sale company sold it to me for $2. One of my best flips ever. I’ll try to find the videos and link them.
Lonnie, thank you for another shipping video! I learn so much every time! I can now resize my boxes pretty good! am wondering the same thing with the envelopes! I feel so bad asking $4 to ship a small flat item! I can’t win at my post office! Either too flat for ground advantage or too thick for cheaper rate! Do you use the 5 x 7 or the 6 x 8 one they have on eBay shipping supplies? Need to get 100 on eBay I see! Next, what do you mark for shipping on the listing? About how much do you charge the customer? Plus what do you choose when printing a label? Thank you!
Thank you! You really shared some challenges on this one. I see that having a variety of boxes at your fingertips is essential for quick packing. I checked your links and see that those boxes are not really all that cheap but with the volume that you do (profit) the trade-off is pretty reasonable. Inspiring videos.
👍
I think things probably changed when they started letting mens clothes get sold on Posh. I sell mens clothes on there. I just put a thank you sticker. That's it. I get all 5 stars all the time. 😊
Love the videos, you should talk more about the burrito roll technique for wrapping items with bubble wrap. Lots of great techniques here. :)
Dang some of your packages weren’t to swift there Lonnie”
With the shipping rate increase are you going to go in and adjust shipping rates and if so can you do bulk increase?
Have you had any problems with using those envelopes with patches or cards? I bought some of those to use with a few sports cards that I have and was told by the postmaster that those envelopes are not machinable and have to be hand sorted so they do not qualify for the eBay standard envelope program. They apparently are not flexible enough to go through the machines.
@@CGB999 those envelopes are actually sold by eBay expressly for eBay standard envelope. Have had no problems with that. Have probably shipped around 400 of them now. Local postal employees will often come up with arbitrary rules or judgments that are incorrect. That’s one thing I love about having our packages picked up, not dealing with the staff at the counter.
Hey Lonnie! Cris from New York here! Pin it on your map. Rural red new york that is! Good content while doing my packing and listing too!
