Ann, you minister to my spirit. I'm 68 years old. Growing up, I was not wanted or loved because of being born out of wedlock. So the only way I knew how to receive any attention or peace was to clean, clean, and cook. That was the only way I would receive any type of acknowledgment. But it followed me through my life. That people only accepted me if I was doing something that they couldn't do. And when I did anything, it had to be with every fiber of my being. Nothing was good enough. What a stronghold it ended up in my life. I wore myself out and had the hardest time receiving Gods love. I wish I could sit with you and talk. Love you, Ann
Perfection to me is run by the fear of making mistakes, and fear of looking bad in front of people. I grew up with a family member whose perfectionist attitude had such a negative affect on me. If something was not as they expected then the blame would come in for their expectation not being met, which meant that mentality of get it right or you'll be in trouble stuck with me for a while. It was hard but have learned and am slowly accepting within myself that it's ok to make mistakes, and it's ok if things are not perfect, it doesn't have to be. I take God as my perfection as His ways are higher than ours.
I too grew up in a household with fear of making mistakes. This fear and perfectionism has had a negative impact on my life. I think it held me back in many ways
Jesus help me. I’m trying to balance everything on my own, but Lord I feel like I’m failing miserably as a single mother. Both sons are special needs I’m so overwhelmed trying to support them on my own. I’m struggling to make ends meet, to pay bills, and to put food on the table for my children. Jesus guide me and give me strength. I have faith you will carry me through this difficult time.💕
I totally understand as my plate is full also as a single mom but God keeps showing me he’s got me!!! So I know he has you too. Keep growing and learning. One thing at a time.. You have this more than you know..
Really needed to hear this! I’m 40+ weeks pregnant and I’m realizing I’m so nervous and anxious about labor because of my perfectionism and I feel that works define me. Needed to hear “our job is excellence not perfection”!
I am a perfectionist 😢and I can see the ways in which it affects me in my relationship with God, in my work place, in my life...Only God knows when or how that seed was planted and I pray that He heals and uproots it so I can enjoy my walk with him and my job
I'm glad Jess Connolly spoke up because I'm not a perfectionist I'm FARRRR from it lol and it actually makes me humble. It also teaches me to keep God in my life so I can be a better me everyday. I'm so glad she spoke up may God bless her beautiful honest soul.

So, please know that when I ask this, it's not an attack on this message. It's an honest question coming from a place of wanting to know and understand and grow in Jesus. I'm asking here because I trust this ministry to have wisdom that I do not. When Jesus says, "Be perfect, as your Heavenly Father is perfect, " in Matthew 5, what does it look like to pursue that v. living in this crippling realm of perfectionism? I struggle with, like, well, almost everything, daily. Any wisdom from God is welcome. Thank you, ladies for all you do and for loving Jesus with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength! ❤
I love that word Excellent= doing your best for God. A person with qualities Perfectionism= Emptiness always striving but to be perfect but never getting there. The perfection that exists is God Jesus and the Holy Sprit Amen.
Lord Jesus please have mercy on and forgive me my sins, wash me with your precious blood and make me pure again, help me change my ways and attitude, please grant me Grace to be forgiven by all I wronged, in Jesus Christ's Holy and Mighty Name, Amen 🙏
