Gotta throw rustam khabilov in there as well, he beat jorge masvidal in striking back in the day, and he had one of the best ufc debut ever by a slam KO against vinc pichel, was 10-3 in the ufc, he left the ufc on a W and just disappeared out of nowhere
He was the first dagestani guy in the ufc and probably the guy who started the whole trend of guys from dagestan coming to the ufc in the first place

In my opinion, Jacare Souza has to be the number one. People talk about how much Tony never fought for the belt, but at least the UFC booked him fighting for the strap multiple times, while with Jacare, I don't think he's ever even been a backup for a title fight, even though he clearly deserved.
When he fought Romero in a title eliminator, he lost a close fight and Romero cheated grabbing the fence. Then he beated belfort, but got injured to replace Weidman on the Rockhold fight, which was given to Michael Bisping.
Then when he was finally going to face Rockhold, Luke got injured, so one more time, no title eliminator.
After that, Bisping and most of the division were ducking him, but Whittaker had the guts to pick the fight, on what would be another title eliminator. Jacare shoulder was popped in the fight, and Whittaker took his place in the division.
Lastly, after beating Brunson, he lost a split decision fight to Gastelum, which led to Kelvin fighting for the belt, and also lost to Hermansson after knocking out Weidman, in a fight Dana promised that, if he'd win, he would be the next challenger (at 39 years old).
If that's not unlucky, I can't describe what else it may be.
Zhalgas Zhumagulov (3 robberies), and Ji yeon Kim (2 BAD robberies) come to mind. And Tony Ferguson ofc. Would've been undisputed if not for Conor sitting on the belt, never got the Khabib fight, tripping over a cable.
Calvin kattar beat emet but was robed. If that whouldnt hapen he whould get tittle shot against volk and not yair and kattar now also got injured and might not be the same. Kattar realy the saddest career cause he has potential

unrelated but i found a guy on sherdog named marcellus wallace like the pulp fiction character, and he slept one of the guys doing pretty well in the regional circuit in my area. all im saying is that if you keep a good record afterwards it would be funny asf to have a loss on your record to a movie character along with the top level guys in the ufc that people know

Its not luck he just kept getting kod. He had weaknesses in his game that jones couldnt exploit cuz his boxing is mid and reyes wasnt 5’8 but all the other guys could
When people praised Reyes for his Jones fight he believed in it way to much and let it get to his head. He became too overconfident and it was his downfall.

What about gray maynard? He arguably got robbed against frankie edgar, then got knocked out in the rematch. He then went on a 4 fight losing streak and only won against guys we never heard of and lost to guys we never heard of.

I remember I was hyped for atleast 2 of his upcoming bouts... and they never came.
However it must be noted that it doesn't take ufc that long to book fights. There is a high probability that he was also turning down a lot of fights in the meantime and was only taking the most "suitable" fights only when he felt like it. The UFC is contracted to offer atleast 3 fights in a calender year.
There's also plenty of opportunity for lightweight fighters to take short notice fights. I know it's not ideal but sometimes you have to do it.

Another unlucky fighter I can think of is Alex Cáceres, bro was 7-1 in his last 8, top 15 after more than a decade of being part of the roster, beating some good names, knocking out Erosa in spectacular fashion...and then he fights Giga and loses a split decision many though he won (including myself) but it's ok, judges score the fight wrong all the time, let's see him against Woodson no...another controversial split decision loss.
Maybe you could do a video about that topic "fighters with the highest number of questionable split decisions" or talking about the horrible state of judging in 2024.

Thennn he had a bunch of cancelled fights like 6 or 7, some were cancelled days before as well, through sickness or injuries and he could never get a replacement. I think he pulled out of 2 and his opponents the other 4 or 5
Thennnn after losing a decision to John Lineker he and the ufc said fuck it, they negotiated a release and he went to rizin to fight manel kape and kyogi horiguchi which in the twilight of his career and he was sadly smoked by both. Just all around a terrible 6 or 7 year stretch for the guy
