Without your help I wouldn't have passed my 77-727 exam this morning. I can't thank you enough for your great tutorials/instructions on how to be successful.
Thank you sooo much i never done anything on excel until the day before my exam and all I did was watch this video!! and some of your other and I got 935!!! thank you I'm not a noob anymore!!
@Victoria Star this is really awesome! You did very well. Thank you for taking the time to comment and let me know. It really means a lot. Congrats again on earning your certification!
It was beneficial. I liked most that you uploaded the project for us, which allowed me to practice and prepare with confidence. I passed my exam on the first try. Your video was clearly grateful. Thank you.
Passed the certification test today for MO-200 Excel 2019 with 930/1000 This video helped give me an idea of what the exam looked like though my 2019 exam had more focus on table and chart manipulation and labeling. But the video is spot on for the real exam questions involving creating tables, Banded rows, Total/Average/Max, import text file, Left/Right function, conditional formatting, creating simple math formulas, move chart to separate page. The exam also had a lot of jumping around between sheets for each question just like you said.
Thank you so much for your videos!! This project one specifically and the formulas is what helped me out the most! I got 100% on the formula portion and the ones that I thought I would do better in which are the sorting and ranges etc., are the ones I did the worst on hahaha but I still passed and got 828 as a score! Again, thank you so much and you definitely deserve more subscribers!
Hi, I was doing fine until Project 3. I was unable to import the "Planets" file as I could not find it. I am using MS Office 2021 so my ribbon looked different than yours to some extent. Instead of "Get External Data" it has "Get Data" and gives ytou options on where to look for it. That's a shame because I could not complete the Project.
Great resource, this has confirmed to me that i think i am ready for the exam. Would be good to have a Macro check the answers so we can see if we got them right. I did a macro checker on the first worksheet and seems to be possible. keep up the good work
Brendan, I have my students watch your videos before testing. They have already completed the prep materials, but your videos are a wonderful review. They loved the Excel project! My students said it was immensely helpful! Do you have any recommendations for instructional materials for the Excel Expert exam? I have a couple of students who are very interested in pursuing this certification. I would like to provide them with some prep materials.
@Teara Peeples I can understand why you thought that, and that is a reason that the task question is worded that way. You could easily see a task like this on the certification exam. I doubt you are going to see a task question that says apply the Excel feature called Wrap Text to row 12. A11 is more of a title for that data. Additionally, the text in row 12 cannot fit in the cells because of the column widths. On the exam, you are going to have to analyze the data carefully to make these decisions. On a task question like this, if you are questioning what you need to do, I would look for things like text that doesn't fit in the cell knowing that the feature called wrap text will answer the task question. I hope my answer helps.
Hello I have a question. can we do something more advanced than you showed or in a different way? for example to convert to table I use Ctrl t. also in project 5 I used sumproduct to calculate gross pay. Also for the full name on the same project is it wrong to use the & instead of Concatenate? The question says use a formula and not a function, so I believe it would be ok. What do you think?
Hello sir! do questions differ according to country? I also entered the MOS competition but the MOS faq site says to look for skills beyond the skills required for certification. I also haven't taken the certification program. I've signed up for excel 2016 and the exam is around the end of next month. It would be very amazing if you'd make a video on the MOS competition exam of this year. if not provide some tips. (BTW I'm from Nepal) thank you!
@Poof !! I can only comment on the MOS American competition. They have a paper based exam that isn't released until the time the exam is given. To my knowledge, the exam isn't released after the event. I can only speculate on what could be asked. I would make sure that you have a firm grasp of the concepts that Certiport says that you should know. Those concepts can be found here certiport.pearsonvue.com/Certifications/Microsoft/MOS/Certify/Excel.aspx. I have also made a playlist on the same content here ruclips.net/p/PLEqweL5D54PBNNCaCWKmOQC9Z5f-7Wzdd. You might want to check out some of the 2019 formulas and domains for extra prep.
@Pooja Deshmukh I’m not sure why you are having extra information imported. It’s hard to troubleshoot from afar. The best advice that I can give is to make sure that you know how to correctly do this type of task. That way on the exam you can do it without any issues. Sorry that you are having issues.
Hi Brendan, is 77-727 certification worth ? is it enough for career advancement , it seems like 77-727 is all the fundamental . Should I skip straight to the expert test, but I'm just beginner, trying to catch up all the expert exam syllabus . Is it possible to pass the expert test in 2 month learning ?
@Li Shen Thia If you have a choice, I would take the MO-200 exam of the 77-727 exam because it is newer. Every person's circumstances dictate whether they should peruse the certification. Some careers require you to have certain certifications to apply for the job. Other people want to take it to validate their skills. You can skip the core Excel exam and move to the Excel Expert exam if you would like. Depending on your skill level, you could pass the exam with 2 months of learning. I will caution you that the Excel Expert exam is extremely difficult though. I would familiarize yourself with the exam domains. Here is a link for the MO-201 exam docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/mo-201. You should be very comfortable carrying out the functions that are listed. I would recommend this book for the Excel Expert exam: MOS Study Guide for Microsoft Excel Expert Exam MO-201: amzn.to/3aX8uAs
@Erick Helena The differences are the complexity of the exams and what is tested. Below are links for both exams which outline what is on each exam. Just a word of caution, if you are looking to take the Excel Expert exam, make sure to be prepared. The exam is much more difficult than the core exam. Core Excel 77-727: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/77-727 Excel Expert 77-728: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/exams/77-728
@Erick Helena I don’t have anything specifically geared toward that exam. I used this book when I was preparing for the exam MOS 2016 Study Guide for Microsoft Excel Expert: amzn.to/2RCYLtE. I felt it helped me with a few task questions on the exam specifically on custom formatting questions.
@Ahmed Hassan Individual MOS certifications are listed out here docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/mct-certification. I would reach out to them to verify.
@Wajiha Khan I don’t know if I would recommend taking four exams in one day. The most that I have done in one day is three and the most I’ve had my students do in one day is two. It is possible though. If outlook is one of the exams make sure that you are familiar with the testing format because it is different than the other exams.
@Wajiha Khan I wish you the best. All of those test formats are the same. I think Access might have a few less tasks for you to complete. Most test takers rank the difficulty of the exams as 1. Access 2. Excel 3. Word 4. PowerPoint. The advice that I would give you is if you feel overwhelmed at any point, take a step back and take a deep breath. Then after a moment of collecting yourself reread the task question. Also, don’t waste a bunch of time on any one task question. If your not sure what to do, mark it for review and move to the next task. If you have time left on your exam, then you can go back to task questions that you marked for review.
@Pwn my thought is that maybe your units of measure is setup differently than mine. Without being there it is difficult to troubleshoot. The main things for this is that you know how to do it. You won't have those same issues on the exam.
@Error TV I'll give you the same advice I give to my students. Take a deep breath and walk into the test with a clear head. You don't have to get all of the function questions right on the exam to pass. Make sure to do the ones that you know how to do and skip the ones that you are unsure of how to do. My final piece of advice is to mark for review any questions that you are not immediately sure how to answer. If you have time at the end of the exam, go back and work on the ones that you marked for review. Overall just give it 100% for 50 minutes and then regardless of the exam result, you know that you did your absolute best. I wish you the best.
Without your help I wouldn't have passed my 77-727 exam this morning. I can't thank you enough for your great tutorials/instructions on how to be successful.

For the first task on project 3 I had to enable and use the Text Import legacy wizard in the Options menu.
@Stan R Yes, that is something that you might have to do if you are using Excel 2019.

In Project 3, Task 4 was a little confusing. Frm that I assumed you were talking about the actual header in cell A11
