The Door Guardian is one of the last main bosses you'll fight in Lies of P. And while he's a bit of a gimmick boss, he can be a real challenge. So in this video, I break down the best strategy for taking down the Door Guardian. I also explore the build I use to defeat him including my weapon, my amulets, and my defensive parts.

I have to say I was butting my head against the wall for 3 hours. Tried taking the whole fight really slowly. I got him into that downed state twice and thought I’d beaten him but he got back up. I must be the only person to have this boss take 3 phases. It killed me too.
Eventually I came across your video. You calmed me down and gave me hope. I’m also an advance build and I happen to have all the right gear I needed to copy yours. First attempt with your build and he went down!!! Thanks for your help!! Also your kind words at the start of the video game me a slot of encouragement.

While weapon damage isn't super crucial in this gimmick fight it is worth noting that you are penalized by pairing that blade with the spear handle. You are better served using the fire dagger with the spear handle in all other instances and you could argue even in this one.

Awesome build as it only took two take downs or groggy state to beat him, I don't do Soul type games but Lies of P SteamPunk Victorian setting and Game Pass was to much of a temption.
Just to say I've gotten this far is a massive achievement, yes also a lot of Googling but this game is without doubt my Goty 2023.

Btw you get less damage because you are stabbing not slashing. In the weapon details it has the Stab or Slash info

I’m not sure if you played Elden ring but this boss reminds me of the fire giant where you have to hit the leg to do damage I suck at this boss 🤣😂

yeah I absolutely love Elden Ring. I can definitely see the similarities between the two. especially considering they both essentially take you into the end game. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Lies of P devs used that as a bit of inspiration. But yeah, overall I enjoyed the Fire Giant fight much more 😅

I don't feel like this ever actually gets addressed anywhere and I remember being super frustrated and confused by it at first... For some reason this boss absolutely drains your stamina. It sucks. If your stamina is already pretty low to begin with, it might be worth respecing to get your stamina higher, but honestly even that doesn't help much. The best thing to do is really just get one and two hits in at a time, and just try to keep some distance so you're not wasting stamina running around. You got this! 💪
