Thank you for this superb performance! I really love Dominique Perriers solo, but I think I love yours even more! I have watched and listened to this clip hundreds of times. Absolutely love it!! You make it look so relaxed and easy, ...I'm struggling to learn parts of it.. Please release this clip without the graphic effects in the video. Watching you play is pure pleasure. No need for video effects! Thanks again for this clip. Best regards!
A ++ Noëlle
It's always a great fun to listen to your music. Congratulations for this excellent Magnetic Fields cover! I especially enjoyed the improvisation parts. Go on my friend!
very good cover, sharp and clean! I like a lot the "solo" part--most of the other covers of this song on youtube just skip that part, but you executed it finely. Thanks, I just enjoyed it.
The guy with the nordwave solo doesn't play the chords with his left hand though. Playing the chords, changing sounds, using the pitch bend with the left hand and not pre-record the chords is sooooooo much more difficult. Bravo galettouille, excellent job!!!
I'm a great #Jarre Fan !! And I must say : This is absolut fantastic how you play on the #Korg #PA2X ( I play keyboard too, not great, but nice..) 👍😉✌ Greetings, Alex
@galettouille: I don't think there is a MIDI file for it. And even if I find it, what can I do with it? I only have a little synth which is not really capable of (I think) playing MIDI files. So I'm trying to learn from your videos because the view is really nice and clear (and it's even in HD), isn't it? :)
P.S I wasn;t putting you down btw when I said I noticed that the bassline wasn't perfect like on the original, I was only saying I recognized that it wasn't the same like that was being perfect, meaning that I could tell you were actually playing it. But I tend not to use samples from the original tunes, only time I did though was when I did rendezvous 2 and sampled the laser harp. I diud notice though on the Egypt concert he used a sound from the Roland D50 for that cool bass sound.
It sounds to me that the train was sampled from the original album like the beats but he did say it was from that synth (the train), so I don't know. The beats are definitely from the album but I did notice that the bassline changes weren't perfect like on the album so that is not the same as the album but it did confuse me when he is holding down chords on the left hand yet the bassline is only 2 notes on one lower and higher octave. But have to listen to this a few times to totally suss it.
I was only trying to figure out what was used from the original tune and what was his own work. I enjoy playing arpeggios physically rather than from the machine, not that I have never used the Arpeggio buttons on my synthesizers but I prefer to physically play everything. But that is for self satisfaction to know I actually physically played everything on the track, which makes it even more my own unique version of the tune. PPL are entitled to do things differently though, 0 wrong with that
Not! All the parts are played by the PA2X, train sound included. Open your ears, you will notice that bass, train and a lot of other things are note like in the real song.
Hello. I use samples from original when it doesn't limit my playing freedom. Here, I sliced the drums, so I can change the tempo, and I have some samples from TR909, to introduce fills when I want. It's a real pleasure to play freely any chord, any lead, with the sound of the original song. I think that they are at least 2 sequences to play the Bass pattern in the original song. It's the Jarre's signature.
Cool !!
Thanks olorg330. Unfortunately I don't have score to play this. This solo isn't exactly the same as played by Dominique Perrier on the real song. Try to find another youtube Magnetic fields 2 player. You will find somebody having the score. Best. Alex
Hi! The train loop from my PA2X is far from sounding like the Jarre's train...The arpeggiator of an arranger isn't like in a workstation. It recognizes only chords and chords types (Maj/Min/7...). And it can play different sequences accordind to the chord type. In this video listen at 0'32 : the PA2X recognize a "7th" chord and plays a "2 notes" sequence (D-G...D-Ab). Same thing in my Equinoxe 4 cover, with A7 chord. I programmed this behavior. Long job. It allows me to play ad lib. ;)
I understand. But it's impossible to play the bass, the chords, and the lead at the same time. I have made the bass pattern in my synth to play this piece. And I have recorded the chords patterns to trig them when they play while I'm playing the arpeggio theme. So, except the drums, all the things you ear in this video are from me. And it's not a sequence, so I can play everything I want, changing chords like I want. ;)
Super boulot !

Hello!
very good cover, sharp and clean! I like a lot the "solo" part--most of the other covers of this song on youtube just skip that part, but you executed it finely. Thanks, I just enjoyed it.

Many people doesn't understand that there are no midifile in my covers. This makes the "covering" much more difficult.

Dominique Perrier. 😉
your solo is perfect..
Thanks a lot! :)

You have exactly repeated the mood of this track, a great improvisation especially starting at 3:43. Amazing, no words.

Cool. I see you are using the Magnetic Fields part 2 original drum loop. That's what I use it.
Excellent improvisation! Bravo!
Thanks olorg330. Unfortunately I don't have score to play this. This solo isn't exactly the same as played by Dominique Perrier on the real song. Try to find another youtube Magnetic fields 2 player. You will find somebody having the score. Best. Alex

Wow!! Genial!!
@1314matt
You could try to find a midifile from this song, and learn to play it with it. No?
You're right about he chords. But he stills does a great cover.
This cover sounds really familiar, even despite that, i listen to this probably for the first time
A feeling of "déjà vu". ;)
Amazing that last part. Its yours right? Congrats!!!
Thank you. The chorus is partially from Dominique Perrier.
excelente
Muchas gracias
suena bien
