Wow!!! Ian’s comment on the 5th drive in the first round for PXG… “I missed it!” 311 yards dead on with the pin! Kind of hard to compete with that. Kudo’s to PXG for getting in the game and performing at such a high level!

PXG has to be given credit for pressing the envelope. They appear to have a really good team in both their R&D and Marketing. Parsons, regardless of what you might think of his in your face approach at selling his products, does in fact deliver with the engineers he has on board. I have a few mixed sets of Mizuno and PXG but woods were always Ping because of the obvious forgiveness and distance in the hands of a 72 year old. PXG is right there now and may need to make up a full bag of 0311s, combo XPs and Ps that I already have 6 - 9. I prefer Mizuno in the wedges. Golf.... what a wild ride !!!
Would love to see the PING 10k vs it closer competition of the regular PXG Black Ops
No comment for the clubs in this round, the superstar/top performer was Ian 🏆 what a performance! Not only having the presence of mind to step up the swing speed for pings final round but to manage this test alone! 🤯 well done champ🥃

Another great driving display Ian. Well done PXG, the driver looks awesome. Hats off to Ping for its distance though. Did you have the reduced 22g weight in the back of the Ping again? Would love to know the reduced MOI number with the weight reduction.
The weight was 22g and estimated MOI was around 9700
To me the difference was spin. When the Ping spun closer to 2K, it rivaled the PXG in distance. Impressive by both clubs, really.
Tried the Ai smoke max yesterday. I can’t see anything beating it but after watching the pxg…… gonna to be fun to watch the next round.
I’m not sure we can really call a favourite this year. I wouldn’t bet against PXG after this match.

Honestly really didn't like the AI smoke at all when doing my fitting. Felt like NO feedback from the face at all.
Not enough independent PXG black ops reviews. Been waiting for this. Might have to give it a go at some point. See if it can beat my 425.

Nice solo mission video! Well presented and had my attention all through. Such good product being spit out in the driver category in 2024 from all the brands. You cant go wrong with the right fit with any of these heads it seems.

I am a diehard Ping guy, but if I hit the PXG like that it would be in my bag no doubt. Sleeper of the year. Just fits Ian so well if he wishes to game Low spin bomber.

Well I guess I’m taking the PXG $100 challenge. Currently playing the 0211 and know I’m losing distance to my buddies with newer drivers so was going to get fit. With the Heroes pricing some $150 less than all the others in the brackets it’s a no brainer. Thanks Ian!
Couple of my buddies bought the 0211 when they went on sale for $120 and they hate them. It sounds awful and the ball doesn't seem to jump off the face, I'm wondering if there was a quality control issue and that's why they went on sale
Just watch out for the shipping duties etc. Brings it almost even.

@@hawkness_monster Mine sounds fine and in general it’s been an ok driver. I’ve recently hit some buddies newer Callaway and PXG 311 and can see I’m losing ball speed on mishits quite a bit.

I love PXG as a brand and am glad to see them getting some brilliant product out there. From there 0317 irons getting phenomenal reviews and now to back it up with the black ops driver is a bloody good news story in my books.
Being a veteran, I am finding it difficult not to go to a PXG. It looks super impressive.

Dam it… I ordered some Gen5 irons and really like them.. I’m not in love with my Driver, and every review I see on the new black ops has me wanting to try it.. just don’t have the extra 600.00 for a Driver atm
Ian I love these videos so much, the only thing I would like to see added, if possible, is when you put the final scores on the screen, you could include the avg distance and avg offline numbers on the screen to give a better feel of the character of each driver and how the final score came to be what it is. Keep up the great work, and thanks for doing these brackets!

Having got fit into the standard black ops head it’s absolutely phenomenal - pxg have stacked up their lineup this year and I found the standard head kept the spin down well and was just as fast as the tour so I took the forgiveness option. Credit where due they’ve upped their game this year

Nice solo effort Ian. I would be weary on the comparison to scores in other rounds as we all hit differently everyday (even the pros). Happy to see PXG embracing other fitting companies.
Nice to see PXG earning more respect and recognition, too bad they don’t also come in at a lower price than the “big three” as it would be good to give them some more competition and maybe help pull driver prices back down a bit. Got fitted into the normal Black Opps driver a few weeks ago and I like the adjustability it offers with the three head weights.
Not only does Black Ops sound the coolest of the driver releases, it performs!!! 💥

Bit off a surprise result that one, I enjoy the bracket and the way you do it, the head to head make it good to watch. Though when finished it would be nice to see all the results in a league table aswell 👍

I’m thinking about changing out my gen 5 0311 as I’m not getting on with it currently. On a bit of a speed journey at the moment so that could be why. Black ops looks like it will be in with a shout!

I've followed the channel since its inception, and I don't think we have EVER seen a performance like this! The Ping flat out would have blown out every other driver so far, yet this round was over almost as soon as it started. Only way this PXG driver doesn't win is if you somehow lose your swing mid-round. "AMF technology" is really beginning to mean Adios Mother F.... 😂
So if any of the drivers aces a hole... does it win outright?

Wow 2024 driver bracket is the year of the underdog! Never been a fan of pxg but you can’t ignore that performance. Are you using the rypstick for speed training?

Maybe it makes sense for the first round to just be a ranking by score, and then pair the top 4 off and then group them for actual brackets. That way a high performer in the Ping wouldn’t be eliminated by a monster score when it was still higher than the rest.

Still a bit puzzling why you wouldn't test all the low spin bombers against each other, all the Max forgiveness heads against each other, and the in between heads together. I think the problem is Ian's swing is better than most amateur golfers, and very consistent, so he will have great results with a low spin head while 10-20 handicaps will test better with the Max offerings. Maybe this testing should be done with multiple people, maybe Mike and a high handicapper.
I have the PXG Gen 6 irons and love them, next up their driver!!
I tried them at a fitting and man are they long but went for Srixon ZX7's mk2's as thought the feel was slightly better for me. Lovely clubs though mate.
PXG has come a loooonggg way since their first generation of woods…. Absolutely a contender with the big boys!

Love the channel and watch every video but not sure why these two were paired up in the same bracket. Would have made more sense to me to pair up the ping 10k with the TM max. I think this was a missed opportunity to see the two 10K models battle it out and maybe come across a low spin tour head later in the bracket.
I'm new to golf, but why is the tour 1 being compared to a max 10k driver? I'm cool with any results but this confuses me as a new golfer.
Noticed the Ping was set to 3W while PXG was Driver. Bottom left corner.

Do you think there is a case for particularly high tempo swingers to get a lot of benefit from the 10k, whereas smoother swingers who can keep things straighter may not need the stability?
A nice test I would like to see a 15 plus handicap do these test 320 is far beyond the average golfer

Ian, you guys should do a losers bracket as well. Take all the first round losers and do the same format until you have a winner. Then take the winner of the original bracket and put it against the winner of the loser bracket. This will ensure you crown a true champion
Hats off to pxg, I was rooting for the ping because I’ve always played ping woods. I think you can see if your a good driver of the ball you can see the benefits of pxg but I think if you need help with driver ping showed you can get all that extra help but not loose a ton of distance.
After your bracket is finished can you do the non Pro PXG against the Ping?

Good video, not accurate as a test. That black ops has 3 loft configs on the serial: a= less than stated, B= stated, c= more than stated. In addition it was fit at PXG likely with Hot melt positioned for your specific needs. Better test would be either a total headweight matched comp or one with the pxg B stock head. Just my 2cents

This kinda tracks to what I've seen with specifically 10k, I have not gotten many balls where im near like a 2k spin number, mainly it has just been like 2.5-3.3k for me, and it's just not quite what I want out of driver. Think it can be playable, just need it to have the right combo of shaft and head.
@ianfrasergolf question? Based on your one 168mph ball speed shot it showed 296 carry. Is that realistic? Would that carry over to the course? With range balls I sit 171-173mph, and @ 10* of launch on a straight draw I’m get 283-289 carry.

Why was the Ping data showing you were hitting a 3 Wood vs the PXG showing Driver? Does this throw off the calculations?
