This year I switched from stealth 2 plus To cobra, dark speed LS and I find it to be more forgiving and easier to turn over absolutely love my dark speed

Just got fitted yesterday at Club Champion in Wayne PA to the dark speed LS driver and 3 wood with Fujikura Speeder NX 60X and 70X. They look great and feel great plus they outperformed Taylormade and Callaway, seeing this video makes me happy about my purchase yesterday.

GC quad measures 3/4mph higher than trackman. First time I hit driver on the quad I felt like Bryson only to be humbled by the knowledge that it reads club speed slightly later in the arc, so quicker 😢
@@carcosafilm7914 Yeah I think it reads clubspeed a little higher but smash factor lower so I thought you end up with essentially the same ball speed.
whenever before i buy new iron or driver this is the place to visit. thank you. i have bought sub70 iron TA3 and Cobra driver darkspeed LS .. and i never regret it.. i am satisfied which really have improved my swing and score.. thank you guys..

I think that by putting the Cobra at 9*, it is favored as the TM needed the 8* loft to keep some of the spin out of it.
8* is a better fit for the TM, while 9* on the Cobra was a better fit. Maybe each driver should have a different loft based on its own characteristics, not a standard loft across the board
I love these bracket fights but I think Taylormade was the only non low spin driver on that side , I would have liked to see the Taylormade LS up against the Cobra LS or Cobra X against the i10 more of a apples to apples , I understand the Ping 10K being included on the other side with the buzz and that its new this year, that being said I would pay life changing money to be able to swing it like that !!!
Did going up in loft benefit the LS Cobra head more than a core head with more spin or did you also struggle getting 8° Qi10 in the air in warm-up?
Not understanding some of the match ups (or clubs). Seems like at least the LS models would be pinned against each other.
It was done via a draw, so no bias was intended....
He’s using the head that performed best for him. Ian didn’t hit the ls qi10ls well. Was too low spin for example

Hi Ian love the bracket for years nothing better than coming home and finding the next match up. I'm just not understanding the rationale behind choosing ai smoke max, tm Qi10 std and the g430 10k when they up against the lowest spinning options of cobra and pxg. Aren't these drivers designed for straightness not distance. It's like comparing the loyal chubby girl against the skanky pretty ho in a beauty contest😮.

Great video, gents! I recently received my PXG Black Ops Tour-1 and am not surprised in the least they were able to get the best numbers so far with that driver. It is exceptionally long and straight for not being "the most" forgiving driver on the market.

Great video series. Maybe include the ball speed as part of the equation? This would help get the a part of the smash factor.
I would guess the final is between Cobra and PXG. It will be tight depending on how accurate the club swinger is at hitting it straight. That offline stuff destroys the numbers so a bad day at swinging steals a clubs chance at winning to to the swinger not club inferiority. But I’d guess Cobra may grab it this year. It’s just incredibly impressive EVERYWHERE it’s been tested. Longer and straighter.

Employees at local golf store both bought the cobra LS as soon as it came out. Fair to say mid handicap player like myself had a harder time controlling the light face causing more miss hits than a more stable (heavier) head.
There should be two driver brackets. One with all the low spin heads like triple diamond, Qi LS, dark speed LS etc. and another with all the high MOI heads.
Cobra has something special this year. Got the Darkspeed X Palm Tree Crew. Far beyond any other driver in style and design. Plus I topped my playing buds the other day. Gonna be a great summer. 😎 Definitely get fit. I had quite a few obstacles over about a month to get it set up perfectly.
Everything I seen so far this year the PXG is running in first enjoying the content went in last to you all for irons n putter fitting next week driver n fairway woods this is very helpful good job 👍

Big fan of the channel. Looks like it might be PXG's year. I was wondering why you are using all the low spin models except for TM? The LS is much longer than the standard version you entered into the contest. I get it may not be as straight, but I think we all want to see what driver goes the furthest. Full disclosure, I play usually play TM, my son is in the new QI10LS, but I'm open to something different if its better. I did switch to the 0317T irons from PXG, maybe the driver is next...

I know Ian played them all at 8 degrees, but moved Q10 and Cobra to 9 degrees, because Cobra spinned too low. Should have kept Q10 at 8. Would have been interesting.
Love it, but how do these clubs work with an average swing speed of 90 mph, 130 ball speed?
Why are the LS models not paired against each other ?
Nothing is a suprise to me so far. I haven't hit the PXG this year, but it has gotten some great reviews. Ready to see the semi final round.
Someone may have already suggested this but would recommend taking half the yards offline as the adjustment. A yard of length is more valuable in the real world than a yard of accuracy. Just my opinion. Not sure it would have swung any of the matchups.

Have to think Qi10 LS with weight in the toe makes up for the straightness of the standard model with more distance.
Might need to do a league format next year. All plays all , into playoffs then. Ians arms falling off by the knockouts

Great test but in the interests of similar ity shouldn't there be two brackets one for the LS models and the other for the standard and max models. Then it would be apples v apples. Afterall the variants suit different levels of golfer

I thought you would have kept the QI10 at 8 degrees seems as it was going against the ls model which probably would be a fairer match up
I know you probably explained this, but why didn't you put the Qi10 LS up against the darkspeed LS?
Great series. Thank you. From a Taylormade perspective is this new driver a significant improvement over the Stealth 2 which is currently in my bag. Or, should I wait until it really is time to upgrade. To assist with a response in a 50 year old male, 189cm, handicap is 4 ish, driving distance with carry is around 300 metres.
In my opinion it’s absolutely a large difference, I went and tried out and compared the qi10 to my regular stealth and the results showed the qi10 outperforms the stealth and stealth 2 in distance spin control and forgiveness. However it’s a hefty price so it’s up to yoy

Question: why are you comparing the Cobra LS vs the Taylormade Qi10 standard? Should that not have been the Qi10 LS to compare apples to apples?
Does the simulator green offer more roll than the fairway? If so, the green should be removed or set to 350 so it is not a factor. You don’t really drive a green and get more roll when actually playing a course (unless you are playing a flat executive course with flat fairways and no elevation or bunkers protecting the green. But those are learner courses and not what we all actually play on).
Why would you test the cobra ls vs standard qi10? Why not he Qi10 LS. I just recently hit the Qi10 LS in a fitting and hit further than the standard by over 20 yards.
Ian has said numerous times that for the driver bracket he has selected the driver model and setup from each brand that HE hits best to give each driver the best chance at performing well when he hits them.
Cobra has done a fantastic job of making their LS model super stable. The F9 was a bomber but a real pig if u weren't diming it.
Any reason the Qi10 is being tested as a 3wd (bottom left of the screen), where as the Cobra is tested as a Driver. Seems like this would skew the numbers.
I'm no Taylormade fan, but why disadvantaged the Qi10 by putting it to same loft as the darkspeed? It needed that loft to get the spin needed, but changing the Qi10 loft was taking it away from best spin numbers.
Same as the TSR/Srixon match, the TSR numbers didn't match up to earlier test numbers.
The driver bracket is my favourite vlog series of the year, but this year's won't decide my driver for the year.

If you look back … I predicted Cobra to win this. I still say the same.
I hit all these new ones against my Paradym, personally I hit the Cobra the best, then the Smoke.
The yardage between the three were very close. Think i will keep the Paradym. If I was to buy it would be Cobra .. because of the price.
Can’t wait to see the rest of the rest of the bracket.
i have both these drivers. im keeping the qi10 cause cobra is fade bias a bit too much for me.

@ianfrasergolf im your opinion do you think that the spin rate of the qi10 is due to the for lack of better terms gummy feeling face vs the spring feeling face of titanium I find myself going back and forth between my Sim 2 and stealth plus for this reason and honestly I don’t see much of a difference in either driver I have but I do like the feeling of the titanium face better
He used the standard mid spin head in this video. More weight in the back of the driver than the LS model giving more backspin.

How does a standard model have any kind of chance against an LS model with your club held speed.
This isn't a fair driver bracket competition. This would be more helpful.

Noticed the TaylorMade was hit with a 3 wood club selection listed. While the Cobra was hit with driver selected. I wonder how much difference this makes?
None. Just a way to label each club.
While watching all those Ian and Paige vids this week I thought to myself, I really miss Mikey.
Had to move the goal posts for Cobra to beat TaylorMade. That qi10 would have been a monster at 8*

IMHO.
What i would like to see Ian do for the brackets is,
#1 Take all the models in 1 brand and fit them to his swing to determine the one that he hits the best so you end up with the best option for that brand.
#2 Hit 20 shots with that club and do your math.
#3 Do this with all the brands that you have selected to be in the brackets.
That way, you are hitting the best option for you and your swing.
#4 Now only hit 1 of the drivers per day and record the results. Hit 20 shots and throw out the 5 worst one's.
Rinse and repeat til you have hit all of them and compare numbers.

I feel like next time the LS drivers should have their own bracket, and regular + max drivers in the other bracket. Since with your swing its obvious the LS drivers fit your launch conditions and individual swing better due to how spinny you are.. Do something like double elim with a losers bracket also, adds a second chance in case you just had a bad day swinging one specific driver. (*cough* TSR3)

Why not optimize both to what gives the best launch conditions vs having the same loft?

Genuinely dont understand why a channel built around bringing the best out of each club would test drivers against each other with same exact loft. Especially whrn one is a ls model!
The bracket is not a test, it’s a match up pitting two Driver with similar or different attributes against one another for YOUR entertainment. We do plenty of technical breakdowns, we don’t always have to stay in that lane.

The difference in opinion on forgiveness for the Darkspeed LS is funny to me. Finch and Fryer both said it was too hard to hit, Rick commented on how straight it went. And here it seems to be holding up better than other brands forgiving models. Curious why there’s such drastic differences just with this one head this year.
most likely have something to do with shaft pairings. Based on various reviews I've seen of the Cobra, it seems more affected by shaft pairings which supports the common mantra - get fitted.

The TM was spinnier than the Low Spin Cobra but at your standard 8 degrees it would have been fairer.
PXG all day long, I just switched and can't believe what an awesome driver it is!
my takeaway - start high-toe'ing drives as much as possible.
Love the Driver Bracket series and all the content you produce. While fun, this is a flawed version of the bracket, but not sure it's highly important.
