Grandma V you could say I adore this, or that’s darling, what a treasure(for good or bad), How lovely, how sweet, charming or delightful. What ever makes you happy.
You two crack me up when you guess what thing are. The thing you said was for flour is a food mill and I used one for years to do tomato juice to can. I enjoy the videos. I truly laugh out loud!
This is for Grandma Ventures.... Ways to say I love this: I like this I adore this I fancy this This is great This is fantastic This appeals to me This is to my liking This is wicked This is totally sick I'm keen on this I'm partial to this I'm mad about this I'm into this I'm crazy about this I'm fond of this Etc., etc., etc. Courtesy of google. Thank you grandma Ventures...you always make me smile! Now we need to find Wade abother way to say "this is old". He says "old" way more than you say "I love this"!! ❤
The "teapot" you found is a percolator. Ground coffee in the basket, water in the bottom and set it to boil either on the stove or like the corded one you had. You knew it was done by the color and aroma!
LOL yeah, ready when it finally quit burbling and gurgling. Lived with this kind of caffeine producer, easy to clean, actually. Loved that perco-rhythm!
I don’t think you need to change anything. You are great to watch the way you are……….honest, true and the real you. At least we your faithful followers ,know that what we see is exactly what you will get!'!!
33:18: I may be completely wrong, but those look like those old shears they used to shear sheep manually. No wonder they're sharp! Can't really help you a lot today, loads of nice things though, see you next time!
Wade that was not for flour it was for canning, you use it to take out seeds from berries and peels. I used mine to make jam. The coffee pot is a percolator and every coffee drinking home had one my mom and dad did.
Wow! I finally am able to comment. Trying for at least a year! Some of the blue Ball half gallon canning jars have a totally different top. They had to be sealed with wax. Paraffin was purchased in bars, melted and applied over usually fruit, juices or sometimes relishes. My Grandmother Burkybile taught me a lot. I actually used some of this type that she had given to me. Now, one of my granddaughters has them. I actually watched this video last evening. Love to you and all your family. 😘🙃
Ready, set, go.... G'ma V, you look so pretty today. I like your hair pulled back. Awesome jar hall. Waiting to see how you will be selling them. We used to recycle mayonnaise jars for canning, because the canning lids fit them.
My mama always warned against using mayo jars for canning - said the glass was too thin, tended to splinter during the highest 'pressure' part of canning. (She had a near-death experience with one when she was a teenager. - I've heard that story, I bet, three score times, more or less. ) She always separated the good canning jars for the next canning project and used the others for relish & fruit jams and preserves. Also leftovers, to sprout cuttings, rescue a bloom, collect stray pencils. Did I mention she was also a minor-league hoarder?
I don't know why people feel the need to be mean...something lacking in their lives obviously!...I love your videos!...keep up the great work Wade and Grandma Venture!...
What is mean? I’m a viewer of lots of these storage bins on RUclips been buying them for 15 years and own two antiques businesses in Connecticut is it mean to point out clickbait?
Depends on what you think is mean. Alot of it is in fun.band if this bothers you so much maybe it isn't a good channel to watch? Not being mean just stating the obvious.
Got my cup of tea and a few biscuits thank you very much 😃 please do not stop being you, I love the laughter and the guessing game 😂 fantastic to see you have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Thank you and much love from the uk 🇬🇧 x
Silver plate is very heavy. Sterling Silver is very light weight (expensive) both products tarnish. The plastic wrap is keeping them air tight, hence little to no tarnish. Oneida, pronounced, (O.ni.da) is a company as well as Gorham was once the largest silver firm. You have quite a find there. The set that your had with the tray is a coffee set, a tea set has a tea pot, smaller round pot and spout. I use to work for an old jewelry company that carried gift ware also.
I am the same age as you Grandma Ventures and I don't consider myself old. If you feel young and think young, you are YOUNG! Claim that for yourself! LOL!
The Pewter mugs with glass bottoms were used in English pubs when shillings were put in the mugs, if you drank from it it meant you accepted the kings shilling and was drafted into the Army/Navy. The glasd bottom allowed the drinker to check before they drank 😆
Many people homesteading and doing food prep since covid. Jars and lids in hot demand as they are Difficult to find. I use them for storage in bathroom and home decor.
I absolutely love you guys. I do wish you would do a recap at the end with silver prices and values of some of the more prominent things. Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow 😘
Denise you were right, that chafing dish does have a small amount of boiling water in the bottom, the metal stays hot. It is not advised to serve hot food or drink in pewter as pewter is an alloy of tin and lead.
He said that some of the boxes were in bad condition which is why he took all of the jars out of all of the boxes. They weren't the original boxes either..that would've been really cool huh?
Here's some help (lol)...Gorham is pronounced with the "h" silent (gore-um), Wm. A Rogers is William A Rogers (Wm is the abbreviation for William), Noritake is Nor I (short sound i) Tock EE, and Oneida is O Ny Duh. I also think the string on the one plate was to keep the tag on. @37:13 it's a food mill and yes, they still make them. The second one is a sifter for flour.
Love these videos of the unboxings. So interesting. Don't worry about facebook. I've been on there for several years, people CAN be rough at times. Just smile and roll on by, their attitude is their problem, LOL And one more time...Nor-eh-tah-key. 🙂
The pink dish is depression glass. I have the same pattern in a serving dish with a center handle - prices vary but I've been offered $200 for my piece inherited from my mom. Can't sell that! The tool that you described as for flour is not for that. It's a food mill for reducing fruit and vegetables (both raw and cooked) to pulp. My mom had one that she used for crushing tomatoes (for making juice, sauce), for crushing grapes for juice and jellies, etc.
That metal that Grandma Ventures loves looks like it may be hardware for a gate lock. It is in with the gardening tools for hedges and flowers etc. and the corningware handles and camping cups etc.
When you said it was 5pm somewhere it was 7.25pm here lol. Then you showed us the beautiful tea set Wade and Grandma Ventures called out my name when you asked who wanted a cup of tea - just as Terry brought me a mug of tes, we both laughed as it was as Terry said Grandma must have known. The other things I thought were beautiful were the plates from Germany, I could see them on my small Welsh dresser shelf. If I was still drinking alcohol I would like the blue glass but Terry said my brandy wouldn't look good in it and a clear crystal glass looks much better lol. He still has a bottle of my brandy here as it is the one thing I am very particular about lol. There was so much that was beautiful in the boxes today, and I used to want a DVD and VHS combined player but couldn't get one here for love or money, now I watch RUclips and love it far more than what is on the tv nowadays especially the adverts. I hope Zoro can be helped and will be better soon he is so handsome and lovely. Take care and stay safe please my friends God bless you all love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK
Item 8:39, i believed is Aluminium. I have a pan that made of similar material like this. They are light weight, heat up food and water pretty fast, in the shortest of time. Don't under-estimate the material, they are extremely durable and not easily stained by heat or fire. Thus it is my favorite among the lot.
Those Oneida serving sets are made in our Oneida, New York plant. Anything silver was made there.the wedding set is one I bought for my own wedding, lol amazing!!
Love your Mom's shirt. It's beautiful. Miracle Whip...mayo with tang. A lot of the serving pieces seem like they might be wedding presents never used. Cumberbun misplaced from the wedding party possibly?
@@WadesVentures Awesome thank you in 2 days it's my 63rd birthday and on the 27th I'm having Brain Aneurysm surgery to put a clip on the Aneurysm so it doesn't burst .
You don't have two flour sifters. One of them is a strainer that wet foods, like tomatoes, are put in to remove the solid parts, like seeds and peels. I ought to know. I helped my mom in canning preparation for most of my childhood. The summer we made piccalilly out of almost everything is my most memorable. I've never been able to get over using the grinder over and over everyday. I've still got piccalilly PTSD.😊
I watched The discovery of Witches. Omg then after watching 8 episodes, u had to pay money to watch season 2 & 3. It might be awhile until I see season 2…how awful. Great series!!
I have 2 dvd/vhs machines and love them both. Both have remotes. One is silver the other is black. I have over 200 vhs and 123 dads. Since I don't have tv service I watch the vhs and dvds. Love going to Walmart and getting dvd for cheap. Got most of my vhs threw my mom when she worked in 2 different libraries as a volunteer and the library would get them as donations.
Tea, in a coffee pot? If it is tarnished it is silver, not plated. Pure silver is Sterling. Plus o.95 too. Especially the quality things made in Great Britain. The Albany thing probably has a string across to stop the other items in the parcel damaging the fine engraving.
The pink bowl with the total glass and glass handles is called a bonbon container. Maybe bonbon for candy I don’t know it’s around the 20s and 30s you can look it up for price some of them are worth more than others
I have so much to catch up on, I have been having trouble with my laptop so can't wait to see them all, I did see something about German dishes, which I had and lost in fire so really need to find that video.
Great words..."Functionally Fabulous...differently adorable...Fantabulous...I'm in love...I'm magnetized by its magnificence...I could go on and on lol I love watching you two, I've been catching up on the ones I never saw since I just found you. So the blue jar with 76 on it was produced for the Bicentennial celebration. I bought some because my son was born in 1976 and I watched all the celebrations with my week old baby.

Agree. I grew up with it being used for creating tomato paste for canning.
Yes, the first one is for removing seeds from berries and tomatoes (?) for canning, and the second one is a flour sifter.

Hallo I watch your Show from Germany and I think you do great. It makes fun to see how happy you are about your finds. Claudia
The red rubber gaskets should only be used for show. After all these years they would not seal.

I remember my Mom using that grinder item (you called a flour sifter) for cooked tomatoes to make juice. The skins would be left behind inside. 😊
I use one for tomato juice canning
Foley Food Mill
Beautiful jars! My husband calls those lids with the wire closers biters, lol. Good place to stash my treats, he doesn’t like to get bit! 😂
Absolutely adore those silver chafing dishes, if I lived in Portland I would be knocking on your door.
Grandma V. Maybe use “This really, really catches my fancy”.
Please don’t change guys, I love you as you are. Awesome things are found again 👍👏🥰💖

I say love it also. Maybe say adore . I probably won't but you can try. Or awesome. My favorite is WANT IT, especially for ANY miniature stuff.
Just found your vids and so enjoy your laughter! , and the wonderful treasures you 'unwrap!' Lol ~ Love you guys!!
You shoulda left the jars in the boxes. Finding boxes that fit jars properly is not easy. Love watching you guys!
I love Miracle Whip

I Absolutely love these jars. Xxx❤
That is not for flour. It's a food mill. I have one and use it for making applesauce. 😁

Oneida is sold in the UK too, it is pricey but quality. They make cutlery too. A full 6 place setting will give very little change from $100.
Grandma V. You ready for the game Sat. Go Bengals!
grew up with miraicle whip. loved it. Not anymore. Healthier diet now at 63yrs.
That metal that Grandma Ventures loves looks like it may be hardware for a gate lock. It is in with the gardening tools for hedges and flowers etc. and the corningware handles and camping cups etc.
OMG!! you found jar heaven!
I think those shears are for sheep, to remove the fleece, some farmers here in UK still use them.
Lol it’s just gone 8pm here in the uk, so a very friendly glass of Baileys is as hand. Love you guys. Keep on recording ❤️❤️❤️❤️xxxx
Pewter is an alloy of lead and tin and is a very soft metal, dents and scratches easily.
