Cool Marcus is playing a Sire bass. Hope Markbass puts better speakers in their bass amps and I hate my new one and they no longer use B&C speakers which were execllent. Get rid of the rat hair on the cabs as well-the 1980's are gone and the rat hair is a magnet for dog hair and dirt-just awful stuff.
My speakers are absolutely Custom and also after B&C the parameters are the same and also the sound is amazing and I personally worked on all my Cab project. I can say you that in our story, we never changed speakers and we never had any problem, and we are speaking about 500.000 speakers used now...check the cab
I have a friend with a 6 year old Italian made Markbass CMD 121P it has a yellow cone B&C speaker. I played it, loved it and bought a brand new non Italian made CMD 121P. I spent $899 and bought it from Musician's Friend whose advertising said it had a B&C speaker and it was not a B&C speaker. When I got the amp, I found out that the speaker was terrible and farted out badly not even at high volume. I contacted the only one service department for Markbass in USA and was told they are putting cheap speakers in it. Upon further investigation, I found out Markbass is installing "Markbass Yellow Line" speakers with Yellow cones and have been using them for the last 3 years-even though USA dealers are still advertising they have B&C speakers. I have been trying to sell this amp and probably will end up taking a huge loss. I even contacted Marco and asked him to get me a decent speaker but got no assistance. I am sure Marcus will get good special upgraded speakers in his cabs, but we are not. I am not happy with Markbass.
New York 151 Randy Jackson's signature cab is covered with tolex (as opposed to "rat hair"). So Marco's squad knows how to do it. Btw I do hate carpet cover too.
