I think it was an extreme sacrifice for Dimash, it can't be good for a singer to force his voice like this, but ... Dimash is like that, if he gave his word, he kept it, and he acted. If anyone remembers, that was also his professionalism at the Shenzen concert, where he bravely endured almost an hour in the heavy rain, but his respect for all the Dears who waited for hours and who also suffered from the rain kept him going, although he had to interrupt the performance, much to his regret ... I mentioned this on another recent reaction to both of these songs: for me, I prefer the Singer version. Technically the Bastau version is better, but I prefer the intimacy and rawness of the Singer version. Him being sick gave it an additional emotional quality I enjoyed.
I 100% agree Gary! The Bastau is powerful and dynamic however The Singer for me holds more emotion and tugs my heart strings due to what he was physically going through before, during and after singing!! 💙😰💙😰💙
@@BoostdReviews Isn't it amazing that Dimash could hardly sing before and completely lost his voice just as he finished singing this song?That's what he said in an interview!As far as I remember,he himself thought it was a miraculous thing which God granted him.It was the same with his London concert.He admitted having been very sick,high temperature and terrible sore throat.The concert couldn't be cancelled,there were people from abroad who came to see him,so the "show must go on".He said he was in great pain at the beginning and feared he couldn't make it,but as time passed by and he went on singing,he realized that his voice felt better and better and his throat stopped aching.He said it kind of must have been the energy,love and good thoughts of the audience that caused this.

More info on the accident. First, it was a seven-story fall. When the cable snapped and they knew they were going to drop, he picked up his kid and put him on his shoulders to cushion the extreme sudden stop. The greatest is the greatest!! Dimash overcame. So Hyang the best female singer sang You Raised Me Up while having Pneumonia. Her like Dimash explosiveness was still there. If you didn't know before, you would have never known!! BRAVO!!!

I feel like next Oh My Gosh Dimash Wednesday you should watch Autumn Strong, also on Singer. Also watch the Gloria Wu version, it's one of his more beautiful songs, and it's just amazing. One of his highest head voice notes is in this song too, like twice. I think it will make you chairslide more than you did in this song.

I see nobody has mentioned her, "Han Hong" famous Ethnic Tibetan Chinese singer well loved in China. She wrote Daybreak and a few years later adopted the kid. Watch her version (original singer) and also check some of her other songs like "Clouds of Home Town" and Olive Tree and many others.

I love this song! This version is the best and the saddest. I dident know he was sick when I first saw it and notised something was wrong. I later understod way and then it goot even sader do to that. I can tell you that in the last show they did a carityconsert that also is for us al to see. There is versions with eng sub. There they gott 3 groupes. Dimash was in the group with Han Hong!!! So they meet there. Han Hong saide she took Dimash as his son!!! Dimash smiled with al his face. A second later another told her Terry is his father!!! Well that whent fun...It ended upp with familyphoto!! Also when they al whent to stage in the end Han Hong was first out after her Dimash and Terry came out. Terry geantley stierd Dimash wright way. When they came to the end Han Hong turened around and took Dimash arm and Terrt on the outher side did the same and pulled him forward inbetween them both. So nice , loving and conciderat of them. Actually Dimash was not opening the night. It was the other guy Dimash was talking to and worried about. Contestants went in order of how they did the week before. Dimash went first only in first episode, when he sang SOS. Also it was not his first song in Mandarin - that would be Late Autumn, also known as Autumn Strong.

Hi, Matt! Great reaction as always. Yes, Dimash performed Daybreak live and sang high notes despite the doctor’s restriction. The pressure at Singer was always very tense. Along with own vocal part and lyrics (for Dimash almost always in a foreign language), the participants should have prepared arrangement, notes for the orchestra and back vocal. They should rehearse and record everything with the orchestra as TV channel required for the safety reasons though all the performances were live according to the contest term. They still had some other performances in the meantime. And no concessions for being sick etc. Dimash was proposed to use his prerecorded version but he refused. In his interview 2 years later he said that it was a sort of a miracle: the voice appreared when he went on the stage, just for the performance. The stress was enormous though Dimash was not first to perform that time. Other participants knowing the situation tried to support Dimash, worried about him, offered him some Chinese medicines to recover the voice. Dimash made a lot of friends at Singer. Though they were competitors, they really tried to support each other. He still has very good friendship relations with Terri Lin, Jam Xsao, Tia Rey and others. After Singer they congratulated Dimash with his 23rd birthday when he had a party with Dears both in the concert hall and in the livestream (half of China joined that live in Weibo I guess) . This party was filmed for TV. You can find 4 parts of this video on Gloria Wu channel. This backstage is really interesting, funny and even touching at some points)) Dimash is a superstar in China. This year he again is recognized as the best foreign male singer in China though he is now at his home in Kazakhstan.
I really like the both versions of this song. But this performance make me feel more pain . Knowing that Dimash was sick as hell is painful ... But the Bastau version is making me cry too. She is 14 years old, but sings like she's 30. She won the Norwegian got talent competition at 7 years old ❤ She is amazing!! The other girl is Diana Ankudinova, a Russian 16 years old singer who actually is now working with Dimash's composer Igor Krutoy. Dimash lost his voice and went to the hospital the day of the competition and the man in the striped shirt was the one going first. After the song Dimash hid from the audience that he was in severe pain and by the time he got backstage he had lost his voice again but since the episodes were a week apart he recovered by the following episode to sing All By Myself. The picture at the end of the song is Han Hong and the orphan she adopted. 🎶👱♀️👗👠 Autumn Strong was the 1st Chinese song & this was 2nd.
I don't think the audience knew he was sick, but the other performers sure did. You can see the tension and concern on their faces-and their respect for him too. For someone who is typically full of energy on the stage, he seemed like he could barely get up after he was on his knees. I think his physical pain merged with the pain of the song to give it twice the impact. It breaks me up every time.

You don't realize how sick he was until you see the Bastau version where you notice that he cut out a couple of runs away from the Singer performance, and his voice just sounded better at Bastau, and he had much more energy. And yet, his performance on The Singer, was still awesome!

Dimash has the ability to TELL a story with his WHOLE body. It is just who he is. This song is heartbreaking. Dimash will give you heartbreaking. This is why this performance guts me so very much every time. I will say though that I guess a little bit of that emotion at the end that he had conveyed also mighta been a bit of relief that he managed to do well despite his voice problems. One thing that seems to be part of Dimash's demeanor, is that if things go wrong, he decides to like overachieve. This is a good example of that. (Bit stubborn too not listening to doc lol). Think of Gakku for instance. Sound system gets buggered up mid song. Dimash thinks "wth, now I need to "apologise" ". He on his knees. *Hits a D8. Enough? No. * Holds it for 5 seconds. Enough for Dimash? Hell no. *Adds Vibrato. 😅😅😅 Enough for Dimash? NO! "Gets up and sings full chest voice as if nothing had happened just a few seconds ago. Dimash in thinking world: "I HOPE I apologized enough to the audience" *Dimash however continues to beat up himself that his performance has a flaw. Dimash sets very high standards for himself. He even mentioned in his live chat to the Dears that his temper flares up easily in rehearsals. Many singers will just give up or show it in their faces if things go wrong. Dimash? Nottahell.
In his only TV interview on Qazaqstan TV he said he couldn't speak before or after this song! Great performance. Great video. (And then went on to attribute this break from voice loss to Allah, which is charming)
There's been a few times Di has performed sick, the others being London 2018, his debut on The World's Best in 2018, and Ekaterinburg earlier this year. It still amazes me that I can't tell he's sick unless someone tells me. He really is one hell of a performer.

I feel like next Oh My Gosh Dimash Wednesday you should watch Autumn Strong, also on Singer. Also watch the Gloria Wu version, it's one of his more beautiful songs, and it's just amazing. One of his highest head voice notes is in this song too, like twice. I think it will make you chairslide more than you did in this song.

I see nobody has mentioned her, "Han Hong" famous Ethnic Tibetan Chinese singer well loved in China. She wrote Daybreak and a few years later adopted the kid. Watch her version (original singer) and also check some of her other songs like "Clouds of Home Town" and Olive Tree and many others.

I love this song! This version is the best and the saddest. I dident know he was sick when I first saw it and notised something was wrong. I later understod way and then it goot even sader do to that.
I can tell you that in the last show they did a carityconsert that also is for us al to see. There is versions with eng sub. There they gott 3 groupes. Dimash was in the group with Han Hong!!! So they meet there. Han Hong saide she took Dimash as his son!!! Dimash smiled with al his face. A second later another told her Terry is his father!!! Well that whent fun...It ended upp with familyphoto!!
Also when they al whent to stage in the end Han Hong was first out after her Dimash and Terry came out. Terry geantley stierd Dimash wright way. When they came to the end Han Hong turened around and took Dimash arm and Terrt on the outher side did the same and pulled him forward inbetween them both. So nice , loving and conciderat of them.

Actually Dimash was not opening the night. It was the other guy Dimash was talking to and worried about. Contestants went in order of how they did the week before. Dimash went first only in first episode, when he sang SOS. Also it was not his first song in Mandarin - that would be Late Autumn, also known as Autumn Strong.
Actually he went first 3 times: SOS, Opera 2 and Adagio. Anyway, how nice of him to be worried about the other contestant even when he was sick!

Hello. From Brazil. It is an overcoming video. In addition to the music having a very strong emotional charge, Dimash, despite his poor health, decided to sing and did this wonderful thing. It is clear that in the other interpretations of this song, in its concerts, with 100% of its vocal capacity, the interpretation is much better. But I was very moved the first time I saw it. The anguish of being without a voice, the pressure of having received a call from the author of the song moments before and the effort he made. He commented that he couldn't even speak while waiting to perform and his throat hurt a lot, but he trusted in the healing action of the music and during the presentation the voice came out strong and he got the loudest tones, and then when he came back there was no voice again . At the end of the song you can see that I was in pain. It only increased my admiration. Mocha was happy with the success of Dimash kkk

Hi, Matt! Great reaction as always. Yes, Dimash performed Daybreak live and sang high notes despite the doctor’s restriction.
The pressure at Singer was always very tense. Along with own vocal part and lyrics (for Dimash almost always in a foreign language), the participants should have prepared arrangement, notes for the orchestra and back vocal. They should rehearse and record everything with the orchestra as TV channel required for the safety reasons though all the performances were live according to the contest term. They still had some other performances in the meantime. And no concessions for being sick etc.
Dimash was proposed to use his prerecorded version but he refused. In his interview 2 years later he said that it was a sort of a miracle: the voice appreared when he went on the stage, just for the performance. The stress was enormous though Dimash was not first to perform that time.
Other participants knowing the situation tried to support Dimash, worried about him, offered him some Chinese medicines to recover the voice.
Dimash made a lot of friends at Singer. Though they were competitors, they really tried to support each other. He still has very good friendship relations with Terri Lin, Jam Xsao, Tia Rey and others.
After Singer they congratulated Dimash with his 23rd birthday when he had a party with Dears both in the concert hall and in the livestream (half of China joined that live in Weibo I guess) . This party was filmed for TV. You can find 4 parts of this video on Gloria Wu channel. This backstage is really interesting, funny and even touching at some points))
Dimash is a superstar in China. This year he again is recognized as the best foreign male singer in China though he is now at his home in Kazakhstan.

She is 14 years old, but sings like she's 30. She won the Norwegian got talent competition at 7 years old ❤ She is amazing!! Dimash lost his voice and went to the hospital the day of the competition and the man in the striped shirt was the one going first. After the song Dimash hid from the audience that he was in severe pain and by the time he got backstage he had lost his voice again but since the episodes were a week apart he recovered by the following episode to sing All By Myself. The picture at the end of the song is Han Hong and the orphan she adopted. 🎶👱♀️👗👠 Autumn Strong was the 1st Chinese song & this was 2nd.
I don't think the audience knew he was sick, but the other performers sure did. You can see the tension and concern on their faces-and their respect for him too. For someone who is typically full of energy on the stage, he seemed like he could barely get up after he was on his knees.
I think his physical pain merged with the pain of the song to give it twice the impact. It breaks me up every time.

This man was sick. And he just did this! You don't realize how sick he was until you see the Bastau version where you notice that he cut out a couple of runs away from the Singer performance, and his voice just sounded better at Bastau, and he had much more energy. And yet, his performance on The Singer, was still awesome!

I will say though that I guess a little bit of that emotion at the end that he had conveyed also mighta been a bit of relief that he managed to do well despite his voice problems.

There's been a few times Di has performed sick, the others being London 2018, his debut on The World's Best in 2018, and Ekaterinburg earlier this year. It still amazes me that I can't tell he's sick unless someone tells me. He really is one hell of a performer.
