Great review, helped a lot when I was actually trying to remove that darn thing! No one at my house liked it nor was able to get it to work correctly every time. August Lock however worked perfectly with no issues at all!
does it tell you when your battery is low and it needs to replaced? if im using bluetooth only, can i keep my phone in my pocket and just unlock the lock by touch (thats not clear to me). Thx
Great video as always Jeff. I like the design of this lock but damn it seems slow. I ended up getting the Aqara U100 after seeing your video on that lock. That this is a beast. I don’t love the styling of the lock but damn the finger print reader and home key are a game changer.
It's been a bit over a month, and experience has been pretty good. Battery still reads "healthy" which is a bit ambiguous, but seems like a good thing.
I personally prefer the Schlage, but this is a solid option as well. It really depends on your aesthetic preferences, and if you prefer a built-in keypad. Sorry for the late response.
The lock picking lawyer picked this lock in less than a minute. He did point out that the core can be replaced. But this should have been considered by the engineering team given the price point.
I don't disagree that Level should have used a stronger cylinder given the price. However, I am glad that the cylinder can be replaced. I also think this issue is way overblown, since locks are really about home owner peace of mind than anything else.
@@JeffBenjam I would say an Abus core, key operated deadbolt offers way more than homeowner peace of mind. This thing can literally be raked open, that's not peace of mind, that's a false sense of security for $300
If you want your wife to murder you, install this lock. This is the worst product I've ever experienced. It wouldn't invite anyone. They'd slide to accept the invitation and then nothing happened. Imagine trying to get all of these people magical access to your house when you could just install a Schlage and input a 4 digit code. Also, the first time your wife "touches" the lock and it does nothing, she's gonna murder you. I'm alive but just barely. The worst part is, she knew before I ever opened the box that this product would not work. Took it back and installed a Schlage.
This is just a wooden door. Where is the safety? Just amazed my door is metal in security hinges around 3cm thick. In a metal frame embedded with special screws in a stone wall. Despite the weight it moves smoothly. We use a safety lock and a Nuki Lock on the inside, exposed to HomeKit.
They don't even have to do that, the lock has zero security pins so you can literally just use a rake pick to open it open in less than two seconds. Zero risk of leaving blood at the scene, zero evidence of forced entry, zero level security.
By far the most comprehensive review so far. Thank you so much for making the effort 🙏
Thanks for watching Jared.

So you need Apple TV or home pod what about the mini home pod? Other then that how many ppl can have home on the device
Thank you for sharing this video. What do you mean have it re keyed by your lock smith to increase security?

Can you use Homekey without a home pod or Apple TV?
can multiple people in the household use the Apple Watch and iPhone to lock and unlock with HomeKit?
Love mine, but I installed the Touch version earlier this year. Kinda wish I had the Apple Key support.
Yeah, HomeKey is great, but my wife misses the touch pad the most from our Yale. I'm still debating on whether to deploy a touch pad or not.
So, what else is needed to use this lock?

"This is Jeff with iDownloadBlog"
We miss you over there!
3:30 how to rekey it?
can you use custom door hardware with this? my deadbolt lock and handle are all part of one large plate.
Is it compatible with Z Wave
Hey everyone! Does the battery end? How do I change or charge it?
Did the box come wrapped in plastic film to ensure no one accessed the included physical keys?
Yes
Is it available in the uk?
After a month, what is your experience regarding battery life? How long does it last?
It's been a bit over a month, and experience has been pretty good. Battery still reads "healthy" which is a bit ambiguous, but seems like a good thing.
@@JeffBenjam My last gen version reads healthy all the way until it dies... so.. there's that lol
Great video. Thanks for going through all the features so thoroughly. 👍
Very detail and technical review. 👍🏼
Got a question. If someone breaks the window, can't they just reach in and unlock your lock via the interior lock knob?
Yes.
@@JeffBenjam so don't use this lock if you have a door with a window ?
I got 2 matte black came in yesterday.
Liking it?
Have you had any experience with the Schlage Encode Plus and how it compares to this lock?

Great review thanks Jeff…
Is this lock going to be Matter supported?
Yes. It also has a Thread radio which was not marketed. It will have Matter over Thread. Source: The Verge.
Yep, just as Thobani said.
Forget the lock, where do I get that shirt?! Looks cool from the cuffs anyway!
Thanks. Been so long I can't remember, but it's one of my faves!
Great Review! Thanks
If someone wants to get it they just break the little window bro... 😂

Great Video! if I send an invite to my guests via text, do they need too have the Level Lock app installed?
The simplicity of the installation amazes me. Just like #Apple devices.
Yeah, it's one of its best features.
Thx

It is too easy to pick.
Do not purchase this. It has No security pins in the lock cylinder making it easy to unlock within a couple seconds.
